I'm not arguing whatever writing skill Tsutsui has, I'm simply implying that since Fumino has a backstory that's hinted as soon as chapter 5, her character was fleshed out since before therefore making her a much more prominent one. Fumino's character background is a mess, her mom died, she barely talk to her father for 10 years and for all that, none of it impacted her much beyond "I like stars". Then everything was resolved with some laptop and none of it mattered beyond that. At the end of the day her whole character boils down to "I like stars", 22i could have come up with any other reason for her to care and nothing would have changed. The drama surrounding Fumino is as pointless as it sounds big.

This is an important point we have never really see him wanting romance it's mostly the girls or support characters having some delusions about it. Then he would do that during a solo chapter, not a character arc. Having to add a literal filler in a character arc yet again cements the fact that her problems were exaggerated, so he had to come up with stuff on the spot. Fumino's character was not pre-developed, her character arc is literal proof of that. Her problems could have been handeled like a normal person ages ago, but since it was such a non-isseu, Tsuitsu had to add literal filler and a ded third party message to explain why her problema were never resolved by talking with each other like normal people.
Fumino is a mess of a character, has always been the case.
