Can someone tell me why the original tv series are so hated on the internet? Personally I think that it is really nice show packed with crazy concentrated action. I even enjoyed it way more after the rewatch.

Kurusu redeeming himself after being complete shit for a first couple of episodes
Mumei seeing souls of dead people as butterflies
Biba's men riding motorbikes
Also the ending was quite happy for this type of series despite being inconclusive

I honestly forgot a lot about the series but I remember people complaining about the story becoming kinda stupid. Before that sure, it wasn't some kind of masterpiece of storytelling. It's just basically a zombie survival anime with flashy action and animation without much plot, just people surviving. I guess the change of focus to Biba's plot (which was stupid) was the cause? I'm not sure.

It's a copy of everything about SnK except the progressive plot. As a result, it does nothing to earn the iconic moments that SnK does. Twelve episodes and a movie later, and I'm unconvinced its creators intend to evolve or expand upon the premise at all, which isn't enough for me or many other people, I'm sure.
The creators definitely have appealing ideas though, even if almost none of them are original or serve the story at all.
