This is a thread of appreciation for both this manga and the three characters in pic related, being the very embodiment of hope and freedom. Thanks to their actions, the story literally moved forward. They did some questionable actions but it was with a noble goal in mind . Without Kruger, Grisha and Eren, Paradis would have been completely defeated with no possibility of fighting back. I wish we could have more information on Kruger, the whereabouts of the Attack Titan, or even more stuff about titan lore in general. Maybe the fan name of "rogue titan" wasn't so off the mark now that you think about what we've learnt in the Grisha flashback, soon to be adapted or butchered in the anime.
Also it makes me wonder if the titan isn't a consciousness all in itself when I look back at that moment in Trost when Eren unconsciously attacked Mikasa while he was transformed. I brushed that off as yet another typical Shonen moment where the MC gets a new power he couldn't control, but we've seen that it works differently with titan shifters. Outside of Eren we never saw a titan resorting to violence for seemingly no reason. Maybe it was just his pent up resentment towards her, or maybe it was his titan's hate for ackerautism/slaves. What are your opinions on the matter, anons?

I admit that the perspective shift since the big twist revelation threw me off a little back then when reading the chapters. The relatively slow start of the Marley arc with its introduction of new characters didn't really help, but now I'm glad to see the story being headed this way and it shows that this is what Isayama had actually planned since the beginning. It wouldn't be too far-fetched to say that everything before the current arc was a long prologue/set up. Re-reading the uprising arc and seeing how Historia describes herself as enemy's humanity or being Eren's ally makes me appreciate this manga even more. I wonder what I'll read when it'll be over, it's been a while I've seen a story/manga with such good writing. Not that I know much, in fact.

He might have been genuinely concerned about Ackerslavery and Bertmin-syndrome, but the main reason he is lashing out on them IMO is because he thinks executing his grand plan will require both of them to be on the sideline, be it because they might prevent Eren from achieving his goal, or because he fears the scheme is so dangerous he might lose his motivation to live/ fight for freedom (his friends).

I'm conflicted on this, honestly. He probably did like Pixis said, with inserting little truths here and there to make a lie more believable. Also to get back to Pixis I love how he and Eren discussed the possibility of a "Zero Requiem" and Eren clearly said that such things wouldn't work.

But at the same time completely rejecting the idea that his grievances against them in chapter 112 had any kind of truth behind them is equally stupid when we've seen in previous flashbacks stuff like Eren's growing disillutionment with Armin's naïve mindset. It's like Pixis said in 110, it's all about mixing lies with truth. There was discussion about the reasons for this verbal thrashing a few months ago and the idea that calling AM out was not Eren's initial intention and that the conversation may have gone in a different direction had Mikasa's reaction been different was brought up among other things. One I particularly liked was the following, which I think still somewhat holds true even now: >I think it has more to do with himself than it has to do with a clear intention to protect AM or JC, (not sure where Historia fits in this mess if Eren is indeed involved in her pregnancy). Which also explains while he's been looking like he's ready to explode at any given moment ever since he returned from Liberio.

No matter what bond you have with someone I think you need to seriously reflect on it when the person has no qualms about treating you like garbage for the sake of some greater goal. Mikasa coming to terms with the fact that her relationship with Eren was built on fucked up foundations and going her own way without harboring regrets or pain in her heart would be the healthiest road for her imo, which would fit with the idea evoked by Isayama that her growth involves separation from him, which would translate to going back to the little girl she used to be before the kidnapping happened. He was definitely on the mark when he said he feared his portrayal of it would be unsatisfactory for some readers, though.

I just want to make this post in honor of Zeke. Since his first appearance as monkey troubles in Utgard, he always was source of hype, mysteries and discussions. I also love how Isayama depicted him as a goofy character ("it's hot!" "Sasuga pieck Chan", him suddenly running away from Levi in that forest) while at the same time portraying him as a calculating mastermind. Even when he jobbed, his mere presence and charisma he'd show in the next chapters made things more interesting. Still, he's a piece of shit for what he did to Connie and the survey corps. I can't wait for Eren to betray the betrayer, the poor emotionally manipulated brocon won't be prepared at all for it.

I think they'll be fine. They seem to be held prisoners underground while the jizzed up soldiers are in upper floors (windows), so the worst that could happen is them being stuck after the transformation occurs. The titans are also controlled so they wouldn't attack at random either, and even then I don't see Zeke screaming while Eren's men and his own including Yelena are still in the building. Some sort of evacuation would happen first.

If you want to pick the manga, I'd advise you at least to read chapter 1. You can skip the parts you've already seen in the anime (if you want) up until chapter 50-51 which is the beginning of S3 part 1. From then on read the uprising arc in the manga, the anime butchered it by removing things that gave characters actual identity.
If you're enjoying it then you might as well watch till the end of the season. The latest chapter that's been animated is 78, but there are some differences between the anime and manga that could potentially make you confused if you continue on from there. Those differences are mostly in the part that adapts chapters 51-72 and 32-34 but those are hardly the only parts with changes, so you might as well read from the beginning if you have enough time and you're willing to.

I don't think the perspective of dying soon is what made him falter/collapse, if anything Mikasa took the news that EAr were gonna die a lot worse than they did (she even stopped eating properly). I think it's more of a combination of learning about what truly lies beyond the ocean thanks to his dad's notes and memories, the freedom he always saught being closer to a distant dream than a reality he could truly grasp, the anxiety born from the knowledge that Marley/the world would attack again his own feeling of powerlessness regarding the safety of Paradis, Historia's fate etc. All of that must have weighed on his mind a lot, which explains why the discovery of the ocean was so melancholic.

Farmer being the father sounds incredibly dull in comparison with the rest. Eren being the father would work plotwise and could potentially reinforce the themes adressed throughout the story and in this arc in particular, but the kino-est part of it is that it'd completely destroy the fanbase for the forseeable future. So I'll go with that instead.
