Agreed. Every time they charge their attacks I know that the resulting explosion is going to feel good. I never fail to sense the impact of the weapons in this anime, which is fantastic considering how loud and powerful the guns used on WWI were compared to what came before. I've heard that during certain battles on the French boarder some explosions could be heard in Paris, and on one occasion the French used literal tons of dynamite to blow up a German position the same way the Empire did in YS; the burst could be sensed in London, it was so mighty.

First time I noticed some in the beginning when the squads form up over the desert and then in Moscova with some soldiers waiving their arms in the background. There's also some more in the background when the guys are fighting the planes.
Second time I didn't really see anything different even though I was actively watching for it.
Third showing, I noticed the static soldiers around the artillery emplacements in the border engagement. Only the loader would be moving as the guns were firing. And each loader used the same animation.

Even if we fully accept that the setting Tanya found herself in was firmly rooted in WW1, her introduction of novel military tactics and strategies muddies the waters. The propaganda footage in the sack of Moscow mirrors propaganda footage from the sack of Berlin, and the main battle in the movie can be compared with Stalingrad.

She eats combat rations are filled with carbs, proteins and fat. Also she's the chief of an elite unit, it's very unlikely that she doesn't get the calories she needs.
However the biggest issue is that meths might fuck up her appetite at such a critical point of her life. But thankfully, her subordinates keep a watchful eye on their leader and make sure she always empty her plate. The biggest brains in the Empire's army work day and night to ensure that Tanya will grow into a beautiful blonde onee-san with a dynamite body !

The weapons in the anime are based off of actual weapons.
Take the Mondragon, Mexican made semiautomatic rifle made for Germany in WWI. It was a good gun, but sucked in the dirt or mud, so it was given to the Luftwaffe. Seems like a good weapon to use if you can fly above all that trench bullshit.

That's what I believed at first, until I went on the screening of the second Heaven's Feel movie in my country wich was filled with absolute retards who couldn't stop laughing at lewd and dramatic scenes. Tanya realized joining was inevitable and had a good aptitude for magic, so why wouldn't he?

She was a mage, that meant conscription; she would be joining the military no matter what. So she decided to get ahead, join up soon and work her ass off to a comfortable rank that didn't involve direct combat.

Shaky cam is almost never appropriate. I won't say it's guaranteed to be bad, but I can't think of an example of it being done well.

There was anti-German sentiment in America during and after WW1 and during WW2 but it quickly faded away during the Cold War into an almost nostalgic remembrance of an enemy that was easier to understand than a commie. Plus the amount of servicemen stationed there over time would cause a general fondness for things German.
