I dare you faggots to name a better felling than watching anime with BIG FAT YELLOW SUBS in glorious 480p!
I dare you faggots to name a better felling than watching anime with BIG FAT YELLOW SUBS in glorious 480p!
>Getting your VHS subs after waiting 10 weeks for delivery.
>Using the tracking function on your $200 VCR to get the best picture possible
>Pressing the on button on your huge ass crt TV to watch your VHS subs with.
I remember
>Using the tracking function on your $200 VCR to get the best picture possible
Anyone else just push that shit randomly without actually knowing how it worked?
>glorious 480p
If I still watch almost all videos in 360p on this day and age, is there something wrong with me? What's the new standard?
>480p
>not 480i
Are you sick in the head or something?
I watch old shitty dubs drunk. Comfy as fuck.
Watching anime raw as uncompressed AVI
watching something in 4:3 or 480p.
I can't
I wish to touch Puchiko.
Please boomer. You're part of the old generation. Us young kids are the real deal when we watch our anime on Youtube in below 360p separated in 3 parts
How about returning to the time, when that was the norm
Not really. Some people are snobs for new stuff. They just want the latest and greatest. I know some people have a heart attack if you post a small image and then question you about why you don't watch the 8K UHD super HD ultimate version. Many of these young people don't realize that those images are original and some are old and played on legacy formats. They are relics.
>Old anime
>Be New Years Eve
>Have dail-up internet
>Be a life long TV and VHS sub viewer
>Finally find a site that has some anime to DL
>Takes 1 hour to grab a 10mb file
>Unzip it
>Happy New Year!
>Watch Love Hina in 280p
>Few days later switch to DSL and go for 150mb videos
>Retire my TV and VHS subs
I remember my first step into the modern age.
rmbv file
Which one is cutest?
Protip: It's Puchiko
>not fascist piyoko
shit taste
Gonna admit where my knowledge of this stuff cuts off
not sure what that is.
For Real Time player. Its really old like 90's era. You had to have a real time player program to use it. Back then there wasn't a standard format to play stuff on, unlike today where MKV is king. AVI was great because of simplicity reason. Even now AVI can be played on anything.
>the series you want to watch is only available in small Quicktime.mov files
That's a funny way to spell Usada
>Quicktime
>Real Time
>AVI
>Winamp
>MPC
>iTunes
I remember how big my arsenal of media players used to be. I swear I had a player for everything out there.
Nooooo stop
30 second 160x120 .mov clips downloaded from random fansites
>640x480 used to be high quality
>Buying anime from Media-Play and random anime-rental/game stores on campus.
>Tape-recording stuff like "Green Legend Ran, Robot Carnival, and Eria (Zeiram) " on the Sci-fi channel.
Yep, those were the good old days.
Being your own fansubber/raw provider was based. I remember finding several VCRs that people threw out and restoring them. Anybody could do it.
>not watching Naruto episodes in your iPod nano
begone plebeians.
You know, I watched Di Gi Charat but I don't remember a goddamn thing about it.
Gema best girl.
Just rewatch it m8
The whole thing is shorter than single hour and girls are cute
Must be the rule that Love Hina is required to be the first digisub us oldfags downloaded.
Pretty sure I have some of those AVIs on a cdr somewhere.
I see
Thanks
Right at 2000. TV anime and VHS subs were on the way out and internet anime was taking off. I wonder what watching anime on your computer in 95-98 was like.
Fun, FUN, and more fun. Did I mention fun?
>Watching Pokemon as first anime
>Using delays in dubbing to determine when things were going to happen from the original
>Seeing the change from hand drawn watercolor art to digital fill
>Seeing when DVD releases became mainstream and VHS was phased out
>Watching an episode on SD then next week getting the new episode in HD release
>Seeing when 720p releases became 1080p releases
>Seeing the perfection of digital animation
I used to use Pokemon to mark when events in anime would take place and watching the moment when tech would change
Pokemon never used watercolors
Cels used vinyl paints and backgrounds used poster colors.
