Manga reminded me that this series existed. Saw pictures of it years ago but then kind of forgot about it. Shame novel translations stopped but part already translated made this my favorite light novel. Can't wait for anime.

The story and characters in witch hat atelier are garbage tier and only some of the art is impressive. It's not even consistently good.
It's prob the worst type of manga to adapt.

user, its not a small fish but unrealistic. The city has modern plumbing, housing, glass, firearms and art which if domestically produced would require a sizeable population. Best comparison would be old italian city states which had about 500k people to do so.

She had money problems before she started traveling. Her mother wasnt rich and nor did they live in luxury. Moreover she shouldnt have any financial problems if witches were so sought after and expensive. I mean we see a country filled with witches whom are mostly novices learning the trade ergo there are a lot more out there. We see witches not being incredibly well off even though they stand on the very top of magical pyramid. We see witches worrying about money even though earning it should be incredibly easy. We see witches being laughed at and regarded as poorfags even though they should be above the richest aristocrats based on what youre suggesting.

Witches arent expensive and hell, mages and apprentrices should be even cheaper. For a city state not to have a witch or two is poor writing and against the established socioeconomic setting

Tabitabi is really good. I'm lucky to have finished vol 4 because it was released in my country. It's probably one of my favorite LN volumes ever, too bad that the English fan translation stops at the start of this vol though
