So, thanks to Yugami remembering the very rakugou story that first gave him the idea for his conditioning, he is now back to his top form. This means Kadota´s hand is taking a heavy toll however, and not even being heavily bandaged can fully disguise the pain.
As for team Houjou, they are fearful now that Yugami has recovered. Their doubts are misunderstood by Nanda, who feels as if they are disappointed with his performance. The team asks why he thinks that, and (I think) he reveals that the girlfriend he had lost interest in him, and so will the other fans. However, this means the team decides to put their trust on Nanda, and give him one last chance to turn it around. Houjou team is finally united...in the worst possible time for our protagonists, really.

If you´ll recall the previous chapter, the first ones to bat were team Kamiosh so now that it´s the the 9th inning and Houjou´s turn to bat, this means the game will be over if three batters are eliminated and the score isn´t tied. Houjou makes a desperate attempt to put people on base and manages to get one person with a bunt, but two batters were eliminated in the process. And now, it´s Nanda´s turn.
His plan is simple; he wants to score another home run, and thus win the game by getting two points, one from the guy already on first base and one from himself.
Kadota´s plan is to allow Nanda to walk to first base by having Yugami throw balls outside the strike zone, and strike out the much easier batter after him since Nanda managed a home run before.
Yugami is now stealing glances at Chihiro to keep himself focused on the cat´s dish, and wants to take on Nanda head on to end the game right there.

Meanwhile Chihiro wants to meet up with Kuzumi, but can´t go through the crowd.

And there you have the conclusion to chapter 73. They are in matching outfits... To sumarize what happened, after Chihiro found herself alone, she decided to follow Yugami´s example and enjoy the festival attractions on her own, as the man himself remarks when he lays eyes on her.
She asks why he isn´t with the rest of the baseball team, and he says he doesn´t want their depression rubbing off on him. He describes Nanda´s character at chihiro´s prompt, and admits that the real reason he couldn´t get permission to live on his own is because baseball isn´t something he could play alone.
And when he picks the cat´s dish, he remembers that he owed his semi-final victory to her, and thanks her for it - except the fireworks had other plans, and he pretends it was something about getting a part time job.
I´ll now post the respective translations from the tumblr blog, so as to not break up the pacing.
We´ll get that resolution in due time, it´s actually pretty amusing in just how much he cared.

And to finish off for today, i´d like to note how the volume back cover is also a refence to chapter 9 and 10.
It´s interesting to note just how much has changed in a year. The team now is obviously stronger, since Yugami wasn´t the only one to score and they held the advantage the entire time. Yugami himself is so much stronger he barely broke a sweat this time, rather than pushing himself so hard he collapsed from pain and exhaustion. It´s Kadota that couldn´t keep up, and thus became injured himself... But that Yugami could kept up being the ONLY pitcher for every game in the tournament, and one of the top batters as well, makes him a goddamn machine.
As for the next chapter, Yugami deciding that baseball is a game he can´t play by himself means he makes a decision, and the power of friendship isn´t winning this time either.
