No it is simply going back to where it once belonged. Remember that back in the 80s and 90s, isekai primarily geared towards girls, a young woman going to another world and meeting a hot young man and they fall in love with each other as they go on adventures, ala Fushigi Yugi, Vision of Escaflowne, Inuyasha, etc.

LN industry was generally dominated by female leads. Slayers, Moshidora or that librarian girl series are top selling light novels in history.

Isekai is just a fad. Vast majority of them sell like complete trash.
