Why did he grow up to be a marine biologist? there was nothing in part 3 that indicated that's what he wanted to do with his life, he should've became a detective since he watched Columbo when he was a kid and he was doing literal detective work in part 4.

Plot of part 4 would have been solved too quickly if Detective Jotaro was on the case.
