I've worked in this kind of store, and though we sold hobby items like this and others, it was very rare to see them brought in. I'm not sure I ever processed one myself. I don't actually know where they came from, but the store wasn't the only store our boss ran and it was part of a larger chain so presumably it got bought somewhere in this network. We had a few homeless and/or desperate people, but mostly what we bought was people selling their old books and movies they had lying around. A lot of games too. People looking to clear up space, moving away, etc. I image it's because we paid so little for everything, which we often got comments on, that we rarely ever had people bringing in such things to sell. Aside from how shitty our prices were to buy from customers, anyone who has those things is dedicated enough to know what things are still worth and be more willing to sell it themselves elsewhere. People selling to a physical store are like people who give their recycling somewhere for money: it's more getting rid of the shit or needing immediate cash than a thoughtful attempt to get back as much as you can.

People talk about gamestop trying to jew you, but it's simply the cost of operating a physical business, especially if it's your sole source of product. The difference in between what you pay a person for it and what you sell it for has to cover every single one of your operating costs plus actually make you a profit. This is why gamestop is going out of business, in between keeping themselves going in the face of online shopping and second hand selling domination and their kind of general ineptitude.

There's a pretty good chance of rereleases on those two. Its always a crapshoot with seasonal stuff, but Yuru Camp has some staying power and more anime releases planned so we might see those two again in another year or two.

They do sometimes, but it depends entirely on whether there's demand for it or not. Best you can do is beg GSC for it by sending them email or bugging them on Twitter.

We sell aircraft fuel. Our margin has to stay at a little over $2 per gallon to cover the cost of employees, trucks, maintence/repair, etc.. But even when we're selling fuel at a discount, people will complain to try and get just a little bit more.
Same with the parking fees. Someone will come in on a quiet day and bitch about why they have to pay when there is so much empty space on the ramp. We pay the same amount in rent to the city every month, regardless of traffic.
Same goes for secondhand stores. They have to cover costs and the person selling them the figures is taking a hit for the sake of convenience.
Don't like it? Sell them yourself.
And westerners grossly delude themselves on the quality of their trade ins and sales when compared to the nip retailers.

My sister is like that in the US. She was bullied and suffers from anxiety and depression. She stays up all night playing video games and watching anime then sleeps all day. She has one friend who comes over every couple of weeks, but just has so much social anxiety that she doesn't want to make other friends. I think technology, with all its amazing advances, has enabled people to have this escapism 24/7 if they want it.

If I had to guess it's because the majority of stands and straps are made in small runs for less popular characters which drives the production cost per unit way up considering design, licensing, etc. A good chunk of character goods probably don't actually break even and rely on more popular characters to make up the difference for the company. Also the fact that they're portable and allow people to signal their tastes probably makes certain types of people feel like they're worth more. You can see both of these effects to some degree on stuff like wallets , phone cases, hats and shirts/hoodies too.
