Damo’s death in JoJolion surprised me a lot. Araki has always been really brutal in character deaths but with how sudden Damo’s death was and as the climax to the interrogation/flashback arc it was really well done. Jo2uke is fucking ruthless and it was a cool twist that the guy who seems like the main villain doesn’t actually escape numerous times like in other parts of the series but just gets fucking murdered straight up because the protagonist has zero tolerance for bullshit.

My main problem with Last Order is that in place of world-building it just bombards you with a bunch of scientific-sounding terms. This becomes a real problem when like half of the actual fight is devoted to explaining the mechanics of how the bullshit one character pulls is supposed to work. Sure, the first arc had that stuff too but it was used far more sparingly.

I'm fine with details, I just think the details in Last Order was more just vomiting a word salad with vaguely scientific terms. I'm talking almost every damn chapter in the series and more than just one at a time. Not to mention it kind of breaks the flow of the story when you gotta break out an encyclopedia with almost every sentence spoken by a character.
