>Anime isn't even over
>already dead
What went wrong?
Shield Hero
*ruins your show*
too many lolis
Isekaishit can't handle 2 cours, the same thing happened to the slime anime.
Died for me when the shitty bird thing joined the party
Lack of diversity.
Every episode or arc was basically always the same and the angry shield antics of being constantly fucked by the world and getting a bit of respite at the end just stop being interesting after the first two to three times.
Moreover because the characters just weren't interesting or compelling in any way aside from visual design.
>adapt edgy isekai
>without the edge
gee user i don't know
Everyone in this show besides the MC has room temperature IQ.
According to this reasoning, Code Geass shouldn't be watched either.
The last couple of episodes went wrong, went from a decent show to garbage
I think it's been pretty alright for the most part, but toning down the edge and botching one of Raph's important moments with 'if you kill him you're just like him' bullshit left a sour taste. Maybe people are just sick of isekai in general.
>more rape
>more edge
Cute
The volumes the anime was adapting after episode 4 until now were boring as well, things start to pick up soon. It sucks that it's popularity is dying off, we probably won't be able to see the spirit tortoise arc animated
Probably no S2 then.
I figured it was going to do something different and interesting. Guess I'm a retard.
Define dead.
>we probably won't be able to see the spirit tortoise arc animated
>Probably no S2 then.
if they ruin it like and mentioned, it's a good thing. they'll continue to water it down and ruin things with shitty, unfitting tropes otherwise.
The few fans always say that for every fucking isekai ever, I believed it as well at first but stopped listening to them seasons ago. In the end it's always just the same isekai bullshit again but with one fucking hijink that is different from the one fucking hijink the other isekai have.
I want an isekai about a guy trapped in a game where he's the only player and everyone else is just a programmed NPC.
This would be interesting as hell if it's done for real. Not as in most isekai where the game jst becaomes "reality" and the NPCs are exactly like living people. Actual NPC, as you said.
Exactly. He'd be surrounded by people but completely alone at the same time. It would be entertaining to watch him slowly go mad.
This. I dropped the show right around when this little shit showed up. The wish fullfillment bullshit just got too overwhelming at that point.
>botching one of Raph's important moments
That was so fucking stupid. WHY DID THEY DO THAT?!!!!
Re:Zero managed to do fine with 2-cours. Interest in the show peaked around episode 18, but it was still fairly popular all the way to the end.
And it would create a lot of mysteries as well as an actual threat. Instead of him being the sudden super hero who wins anyway he would be in this fucked situation, you kinda want him to go home again but nobody knows how. And if the world is actually a game for once it would be more interesting anyway since there are a ton of set rules the MC just can't break with magic and asspull bullshittery to get an easy way out. I hate it when a series is about a game and the characters face some overpowered enemy because they "believe" in something or love each other. That's now how games work.
You basically just described Overlord my dude
Nobody acts like a programmed NPC there. It's just another case of the many "MC's favorite game became real and he gets everything he wants and more" isekai. That user above wants to see the MC despair.
Same thing that happens to mostly every isekai. Brief bit of hype before everybody realizes it's the same old shit and stops caring
I mean like an actual game and not some bullshit power fantasy, and no harem to boot.
Incels are a fickle bunch.
kadokawa's guinea pig is not doing it that great in china and us either and the merch and dvd/bd sales were mediocre/average
They are adapting the most boring part of the series. It doesn't really pick up steam until a couple of arcs from now.
What's the better part in your opinion?
There are many stories like that.
They are all horror stories or filled with deep existential dread and loneliness.
The Spirit Turtle arc.
Now you're getting it, bucko.
The only thing that would make it worse was if he had complete control over the world and could change things at will.
Fuck it would be horrifying and empty and ultimately lonely.
Like being trapped in an eternal daydream.
Also:
Try playing Phantom Dust or watching it on youtube
...
Source on that?
>Source on that?
his ass.
So... CHIM?
we still don't now about the stream revenues, but the dvd/bd just reached 2.2k sales
Source: last BD sales thread we had in Yea Forums
she is a bretty shit character desu
to me it seems the entire series ebbs and flows with it. Theres moments where you forget about the wish fulfillment, then it shoves in your face again once you've almost completely forgotten.
its a series for kids, they cant kill anyone
unless its a dirty demihuman, have to teach the kids they are expendable
In the LN there were a few kills though.
>In the LN
of course the LN is different, hell even the manga is different. that doesn't change the fact they butchered the anime
oh please don't let it have a second season or this shit's gonna get butchered all over again, leaving nothing but a mediocre carcass
You're different.
>What went wrong?
Everyone is a retard and the writing just bring more plot holes evey new episode.
now you caught me off guard... what?!
what are you talking about?
imagine the pope not dying this week haha
imagine the queen sending him to prision haHA
after what they did in ep 15 i'm afraid this could actually happen.
>spoiler
shit like this is why i'm afraid the malty shit posters may be right about her getting some kind of redemption which is fucking stupid, since she's the main antagonist anyway
i hope they dont pussy out on bitch getting her real name
the big amphibian
it's more of a "no u" but i do get what you mean in that post.
But Code Geass is retarded and funny because of it.
>peaked around episode 18
>An entire episode about crying
No.
I’m saying that’s when the popularity of the series peaked before some people started dropping it because of >I love Emilia. The actual quality peak was episode 15.
I agree then.
There isn't really much to talk about once the show transitions into a harem fantasy. Nobody really cares about the conflicts that Shield runs into because they get fixed by one plot girl or another - in addition to gaining plot items which automatically confers plot invulnerability in one to two episodes.
In addition, Shield doesn't impress. He has like 25-50 powers in his shield so far but only uses like 5-6. He just spams the same thing. Theres no real "isekai MMO" aspect to it, apart from basic low level concepts like draining energy. In fact, it makes me dumb for expecting more than newbie concepts to be introduced (but that's my fault for setting Log Horizon as the high bar for isekai game fantasy).
>i hope they don't pussy out on bitch getting her real name
I'm afraid that might happen. If that happens then I'll have lost all faith in this adaption.
>You basically just described Overlord my dude
>Nobody acts like a programmed NPC there. It's just another case of the many "MC's favorite game became real and he gets everything he wants and more" isekai. That user above wants to see the MC despair.
Actually... all clues so far in the novels point to it been a "real fantasy world" - with real people, magic & dragons - that has been modified, corrupted and twisted to make it somewhat similar to the game, although elements (Soul Magic) and beings of its previous state remain (True Dragon Lords).
Due some subsequent event (Eight Greed Kings), the inhabitants of that world, whether they be humans, demi-humans, monsters or young dragons, started to acquire "game" powers, but only to certain level.
The players/NPCs who appear every 100 years or so are much more powerful, but are completely bound by the game rules (Ainz can't normally use a sword or learn new spells by his own; maids can't learnt to cook, no matter who hard they try) while the locals have wiggle room.
And in the middle, there is the hybrids like Zesshi/Certain Death (pic related), who have the potential to be as powerful as their player parents, while still retaining some freedom from the cage that is the Yggdrasil system)..
Also, Ainz doesn't get what he really wants (his friends) and he's slowly being consumed by the mask he has chosen to bear for the sake of his friend's "heirs".
>They are adapting the most boring part of the series. It doesn't really pick up steam until a couple of arcs from now.
Has there been any hints in the novel that point towards a different ending?
we're not in the endgame yet but at least the masterminds behind the wave are totally different from the WN version.
Farenheit or celcius?
Well holy shit guys you will not believe what happened in the latest spear hero chapter that dropped just today:
1. motoyasu and naofumi discussing about the new criteria the he'll get looped now. they just don't know how is it that motoyasu is looping again.
2. Atla visiting motoyasu in his dreams that night and asking him to supplant raphtalia with her the next time he loops
3. naofumi losing his virginity to gaelion-chan and motoyasu breaking down at the revelation
They toned down the edge and upped the slice of life and power fantasy.
Things aren't supposed to work out for the shield hero and them cutting out a lot of internal monologue makes it really weird to keep up with. Naofumi is a very hate filled person who still does what's right.
Also all the unnecessary shipping and fanservice they give us which isn't present in the manga or LN at all.
kelvin
It's not a turtle.
It's a reptilian.
It's boring.
