I don't remember anything too special about Death Note's soundtrack. Care to jog my memory?
Kids on the Slope
L's theme is pretty iconic.
>hip hop and rap
>anything but utter garbage
kara no kyoukai
madoka
higurashi
gundam thunderbolt
helsing
clannad
Just had a listen. It was good, but I wouldn't think to call it top tier. Anything else?
Gurren Lagann opening? And the fact that singer wants Jotaro to spit on her face?
Low of Solipsism.
Hmm. I like that one better, still wouldn't call it top tier, but high tier would be fair I suppose. Can agree to disagree beyond that.

Listening to this automatically increases your brainpower 200%, i swear
taniuchi hideki is still the best composer out there
Anything by pic related
Takeshi Abo's stuff is pretty impressive
(although a little lack of diversity)

Berserk, GITS, LOGH, Record of Lodoss War, Macross, Mushishi.
giga based
Aria has a beautiful OST
Jojo but especially golden wind
While Bebop is indeed okay (but not phenomenal), the rest is nothing but normalfag magnet.
>Takeshi Abo's stuff is pretty impressive
This guy is fucking great. I can't name a single OST of him that is even average. Everything is fucking great. Especially VN OSTs.
+
(By OST I mean background music, not character songs, vocal collections etc)

These series had great, unique soundtracks. Without shitty emotional american-blockbuster like emotional trumpets, war drums and other normalfag-pandering things.
If Persona 5 anime used game's OST, then I would add it to this list as well.
One of the reasons Yuru Camp was so popular was the music was way, way better than the run-of-the-mill stuff for this sort of show.

>Intro (above average, although not great):

>Extended outro (much better than the intro):

I haven't watched the anime, but played the game recently. Did they seriously not make use of the game's superb soundtrack? I just put it on my phone last night, it's great to listen to.
Adding to background music:
Hibike! Euphonium
Sora no Woto
I didn't watch anime adaptation yet so I don't know. But for example they didn't use original OST in Steins;Gate anime (and other science adventure adaptations like CHaos;Head and Robotics;Notes) so everything is possible.
and of course Abo Takeshi's OSTs for science adventure VNs were far superior to anime original OSTs
Lights theme
anything by satoru kosaki
Is the Robotics;Notes anime adaptation any good? I've been wanting to get into the Science Adventure series beyond Steins;Gate (0) and Chaos;Child. I've heard the Chaos;Head anime adaptation is horrendous, though.
A pretty good list, but you forgot
>Made in Abyss
>Baccano!
>Kekkai Sensen
Oh, and also
>Bleach. Especially the shit during the arrancar ark.
>Megalo Box
>Elfen lied
>no mention of Lupin III
This is criminal!
SZS is great, only soundtrack I've felt compelled to buy.
Geneshaft
Attack on Titan
Kill la Kill (same composer I believe?)
I didn't read VN but I really liked it. It's way different than Steins;Gate though.
>ctrl+f
>no Utena
What the fuck guys, The Sunlit Garden, Passionate and Overture are some of my favorite anime tracks off all time. Not to mention Rinbu Revolution and Truth.
Ikuhara's pretty good with his OSTs
>kara no kyoukai
muh niogga
Here's the secret. If it's from a vn it's probably (we're talking 199.9999% chance) that it's a horrendous adaptation
Both 2000 and 2019 Boogiepop
ruroken, you fags
Is the original Steins;Gate the only exception to that due to it being entirely linear with only short alternate endings branching off?
Alright, maybe I'll look into it then, thanks.
>Gundam UC
>Aria
Made in Abyss
The Promised Neverland
Steins;Gate
What do people like about Sawano's music so much?
Of course he's retarded. Don't bother with anyone who is making idiotic statements like "anime was better int he past", "99.9% seasonal series are garbage" etc.
There's a lot of great VN adaptation out there. Of course there's many crappy ones too. But that's apply for literally any kind of adaptation.
