Previously, after transferring to a new school Takashi Kase fell in with a group of delinquents affiliated with the ZEROS, a bosozoku gang. Roped into going to one of their gatherings he wound up getting dragged along as a participant by riding on the back of a motorcycle belonging to Gerako, an older member. However when the cops showed up Gerako chickened out and decided to break off until the heat died down. Unfortunately they were in Setagaya, territory of a rival bosozoku gang called Red Emperor. Gerako again chickened out and ran off while Takashi, forced to beg, got his ass kicked and humiliated.
By the way the bit on page 22 about a bus arsonist in Shinjuku is something that actually happened in 1980. A guy was pissed about being a poorfag and set a bus on fire killing 6 people.
>messed up family life >wants to be cool >easily peer pressured This is the prime candidate for people who join gangs. Can't wait till MC grows a bit and becomes more of a badass because the series seems to be implying he becomes a big shot in the future.

Also maybe someone would know better but what's the deal with the Bakuon Rettou stuff being published in Young King and Young King Bull? I'd say it's a reserialization but some of the art I've seen on Takahashi's twitter is definitely new so I don't know if it's a remake, just essentially gaiden stuff or what.
Yeah, Takashi's story is great. He kind of flies from one goal or conviction to the next but it makes sense. Teen rebellion isn't really the most logical or carefully planned stuff ever.

Also searching #爆音列島 on twitter can lead to some neat stuff.
