Axes manga left and right in search for the golden nugget

I don't understand this magazine.

To be fair, AoT is garbage

So is Chainsaw Man but they decided to give that shit a shot.

Chainsaw man is better drawn. Have you seen the early chapters of SnK?

Hindsight is 20/20.

I was burnt out with them by the time Bleach ended

The art of Titan was fucking awful initially

The art for AoT is terrible. It has gotten better, but still the early chapters were horrible.

AoT, as it is, would not work on 18 pages a week for a younger audience. That's why the series was also not published in Weekly Shonen Magazine, but in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, which is a magazine that gives more freedom to the authors.

It sells worse than Jujutsu which only just narrowly survived axing. Chainsaw shit will be axed soon enough.

They are desperate for another Ons Piece / Naruto / Bleach level hit. So far nothing they’ve created even comes close to being as influential and dominant. (This is probably why they refused to give Kubo time off like he wanted, because they had nothing else that was a draw like it was).

They also rejected Komi-san, and the head editor at the time had no faith in One Piece.

If predicting which stories will be successful was easy, these massive companies would be doing it already.

Why doesn’t WSJ pick up an Isekai?

they're marketing to teens, not otaku

It's going to be great seeing what happens with the magazine once One Piece ends. If they let it. Hopefully that happens in my lifetime.

They already had bleach

RENT FREE

>They are desperate for another Ons Piece / Naruto / Bleach level hit.
This will never happen again because the context has changed. The competition with the internet has increased a lot.

oops meant this one

They already have something kind of similar with Dr Stone. Besides most of the isekai that are popular right now started as amature novels on the internet, as where WSJ focuses mostly on original manga.

>It sells worse than Jujutsu

So does a lot of stuff in the magazine and older than it too.

The only people who care about Chainsaw are 13 yo who think that seinen is a genre.

Dr stone is a native isekai

based retard

seething

Dr. Shit and Jimoto are favored by editors, Bokuben and Yuuna are needed for genre diversity, and Hinomaru has Yakuza ready to kill Shueisha if they axe it. Jujutsu had nothing like that and just barely managed to survive. Chainsaw man also has nothing like that and will not be around for long.

>rejected Attack on Titan
and thank God for that. SnK won't be the same if it get published in SJ.

Jujutsu had mediocre ranks to begin, then thundered to the top of the TOC. It sells comparatively better than everything in the magazine except HeroAca and Neverland. It's already won awards. Horikoshi called it Jump's "next pillar".

This idea of Jujutsu being unpopular is a western creation. It was never in the kind of position of something like Kimetsu no Yaiba or Chainsaw Man.

>Jujutsu had mediocre ranks to begin, then thundered to the top of the TOC.
Thanks to a lot of pushing.

Jujutsu was never in any trouble. This thread is full of shitflingers trying to stir the pot. Chainsaw Man is doing well and isn't in any danger.

90% of the manga they axe is really weak and also don't sell, look at the list of their axed manga and overhelming majority of it is bland shit that was destined to get axed.

I really liked Higuma.
Call me retarded, but I didn't even see the axe coming. It felt like the author just went with his original idea to the bitter end

the axe was obvious, but i enjoyed it too
saiyuki will also get axed becuase its a series i enjoy

Also
>Has a implicit ban on Iseaki

Pride

The anime had good storytelling

>arguing on rooftops
Come on.

The opposite would be something like Marvel where you have 8 Captain Marvel Reboots.

Because they're incompetent and are basically running on legacy at this point.

Maybe when someone writes an isekai original manga that isn't garbage. Anything out of syosetu obviously does not qualify.

>arguing on rooftops
>bad

Do axed series usually get a epilogue chapter like Higuma did?
