Leaving it with a couple of really rough story arcs. Once Gainax gets it back for the finale, it's great.

This part almost redeemed that arc for me. It was a surprisingly realistic depiction of survival and it made Nadia look like the irrational fool that she was. Jean had the patience of a saint to but up with her bullshit for so long without snapping. He and Marie should have just carved up and ate Nadia to kill two birds with one stone.
