I think I'll drop this for now and let the chapters pile up for binging later. Thank for the dump though, OP.

Is it just me or is this a weird time for a flashback

>inb4 Tsurumi was behind the kidnapping

Extremely weird time but I assume its gonna lead to something happening in the present.
Very likely

>"""""Russian""""" kidnappers offer Koito the same regional Japanese snack as Tsurumi did 2 years ago, which is apparently mostly circulated amongst the army

Attached: DsdPP9iUcAA6iAe-orig.jpg (981x974, 87K)

Is there a break next week or not? The spoiler discord said so but EH scans didn't put the "break next week btw" message under the release that they always do.

>ywn kidnap koito, give him water and feed him
wtf i want to die

except for the kidnapping, that's everything Tsukishima does and more

>no facial hair growth after 4 days in captivity
Guess he didn't inherit his dad's beard genes.

Attached: Ds1LvJqU4AAUwFG-orig.jpg (600x693, 170K)

>implying the "russian" isn't tsukishima

Is that not Tsukishima in the mask? Or at least one of them.

He's 16, why the fuck would he grow a beard?

I think it'd be more thematically appropriate if it was Ogata, given that we just learned he can speak Russian and he spurred Koito's flashback. However, I don't want the Cat bastard shoved into other people's backstories and would rather see more development on the Tsukishima and Koito relationship. And not in the fujo sense but in the surrogate brother sense; Nip twitter calculated that Tsuki is probably the same age as Heinojou.

Attached: 70498014_p13_master1200.jpg (700x473, 117K)

Not a full beard but at least some stubble like the average healthy teen male.

Attached: 1556826246977.png (420x420, 156K)

>No update on Ogata about to dome Otonoshin

Attached: 1475416560694.gif (200x202, 194K)

why would he do this though

Attached: 2fe9feceeca245efff61a85f31667210.jpg (698x1052, 115K)

Probably so Koitodad was in his debt and he could ask him to lend him a fucking fleet of destroyers as a favor whenever he wanted?

Also to add another member to his harem

Attached: 1556156592381.jpg (902x1050, 81K)

>Why would the mad lad Tsurumi do absolutely crazy shit to gain favor in powerful people
I just don't know user

Attached: yum.jpg (256x401, 28K)

I was really hoping that we'd see some Yuusaku and Kojirou in this flashback since Noda had dropped random information like the latter being from Satsuma and a friend of Heiji. Maybe they'll appear next chapter?

Attached: 1548893501681.jpg (1024x954, 135K)

I just want to see how Ogata wants to escape during a snowstorm with a gross headwound and no clothes.

Forces Coitus to strip so he can take his clothes?

Ogata was a kidnapper. Hence why there was a time skip mid flashback. The whole thing was staged

>More Ogata
99% chance this is the case but pls no

It'll allow him to rat out Tsurumi to Koito. Why else would they have Ogata speaking fluent russian and then have some random flashback of how Koito came to adore Tsurumi? Because Ogata will be in the same flashback.

Considering how much dirt Ogata had on Tsurumi I'm surprised Tsurumi has never really tried to kill him. Is it because he thinks Ogata wouldn't be the type of guy to fuck him over that specific way?

I'm aware of the objective facts, I just don't like Ogata

Attached: 4-2d57c4e8063c.gif (600x607, 629K)

How old is Ogata here if Koito is 16?

Maybe 21? The relative ages chart puts him above Sugimoto. I always imagined Ogata as like 26 in the present.

Attached: ages.jpg (439x232, 22K)

21 or so.

Attached: 1555571547499.jpg (917x676, 83K)

Well there's little doubt that Ogata is one of the kidnappers. Now I want to see what the aftermath of him exposing Tsurumi to Koito is. How will Tsukishima react if Koito's loyalty wanes and thinks of ratting Tsurumi out to the rest of the army?

That chart is just a fan's guess based on the vague relations Noda gave. The Nip fandom seems to have come to the consensus based on calculating the timeline that Koito is 21 in the present story.

>Now I want to see what the aftermath of him exposing Tsurumi to Koito is
The cliffhanger to this chapter seems to indicate that Koito realizes Tsurumi is involved.

Koito would win actor of the year for his role as a fanboy if that turns out to be true.

>Tanigaki conquered an older babe

Nice.

Him realizing Tsurumi staged the kidnapping doesn't mean his fanboy act is fake. Next chapter might reveal that Tsurumi somehow spins this situation to mend the family's relations, since the text blurb for the next chapter indicates some sort of emotional reunion of the Koito clan.

Koito is a good boy.

Yeh looking at it now I refuse to believe Tsurumi is that young.

>we now know more about Koito's family than that of anyone else in the series

Attached: 68887220_p51_master1200.jpg (1020x689, 311K)

Ok, that makes sense, but I still wish this flashback was happening earlier instead of right in the middle of Ogata's exciting hospital escape.

I enjoyed seeing the mother's eyebrows more than anything else in this chapter.

We're slowly building up to a big confrontation with Tsurumi, wonder if Noda's preparing to kill him off or something
genuinely cannot imagine what this series would be like without him though

Attached: 61906926_p20.jpg (1110x1900, 2.48M)

Tsurumi will probably die at the end of the series, just before they find the gold.

There's still the mystery of what killed all the ainu, but at this point it'll probably be Tsurumi again since there hasn't been any sort of hints of any more players in the gold race.

I mean, what else could "the Ainu plan" he mentioned back during Tsukishima's backstory arc be referring to?

He's also going to cuck Sugimoto, for some reason

Attached: 1544386992621.jpg (844x1200, 268K)

If Tsurumi could have had a peaceful end to his assignment and pulled his family out with him, would he have been a different person?

keikaku doori

Didn't Tsurumi tell Tsukishima that he is the only one speaking russian? When the fuck did Ogata learn it and why?

Tsurumi knows Russian himself so all that bullshit was nonsense he was spouting to get Tsukishima out of his cell. He even admits to it during Tsukishima's flashback that him knowing russian didn't matter much.

insurance policy, Sugimoto will be given the choice of fulfilling the promise to his dead childhood friend to protect the woman they love or his promise to Asirpa help the Ainu. Either way he's gonna have his heart broken

Well shit, i can't believe Tsurumi's words anymore.

Yes, without a doubt

We just got two new faces added to his squad, Kikuta & Ariko, so I'm pretty sure there's a lot more planned for him.
Also Hijikata's group is still rounding up the last few skins I think? Or have they all been found now?

But...

Attached: Weight On His Shoulders.png (1036x1500, 641K)

>takes a bite without hesitation
hongry boi

>Koito goes from "Oh no I'm sorry for bumping into you" when someone jumps out in front of him to "get the fuck out of the way" in two years
The angst has been building up

I want to believe Sugi and Tani are that old (my age) but I have doubts. At least there is still time for my HUSBAND, Tsukishima!

Attached: 6E373812-C007-4829-94E2-1979C684F2E1.jpg (1024x712, 121K)

so the ainu grandma is the same age as the legendary hijikata? they really should settle down together.

S3 when?

oh no, Koitos going to turn on tsurumi, join ogata and become part of another useless faction

>fans pestered them so much they made a gay yakuza OVA
Where the fuck is the pestering for a Lightning Bandit OVA. I want to see more animated 7th division shenanigans.

I really wanted that couple to be recurring characters in the main cast

Attached: DZ27QdUUQAEKhPR.jpg (1364x2048, 302K)

Did Noda just forget that the Kantarou guy existed? I saw someone mention that he seems to have randomly disappeared whenever the story cuts back to Hijikata's group, but I haven't cared enough to check.

It's hard to say since Hijikata's group in general acts pretty independently of each other all the time instead of being a close-knit unit

Do women watch this series or is it just old guys?

Attached: 1555804869728.jpg (720x400, 38K)

Do fujos count as women?

We don't have much arcs with Hijikata's group to begin with, but he wasn't in either lake Aran or Youchirou arc, so, yeah, seems like it.

This fucking manga has gone all nuts on me. First it was just like "survival manga" then it went off the fucking deep end with "Everyone is a god damned Buffalo Bill level lunatic." What the fuck is wrong with these people.

>watching modern anime

i hope a flu epidemic happens and wipes out ogata, hijikata and all the other pointless characters

>no GK in this week's YJ issue
Is Noda becoming the new Oda?

Hijikata was cool early on, then Noda stopped focusing on him for so long that it felt like he fell out of the story entirely. That one arc where he hunted down the old samurai dementia dude was literally just Noda reminding everyone that he still exists.

Attached: ed8aea414630895afafd741f1afb7c4d.jpg (445x1200, 75K)

theres not really much to his character other than the fact that he's hijikata toshizou too. every chapter with him is just people recognizing who he is

Wasn't he with the tanuki guy for a bit during the poison Russian roulette guy's arc?

He usually is steps towards his ambition of establishing a republic in some way, that arc I mentioned which literally was just a recap of what his character was though. Yeah he wasn't a overly deep character or anything but he didn't feel as "pointless" before as he does nowadays. He's supposed to be a rival figure to Tsurumi within the story, remember?

Attached: gkch124p17.png (1036x1500, 483K)

Pretty sure the current groups are going to be shaken up when Sugimoto eventually gets to Tsurumi, no way is he just going to hand Asirpa over to him. I reckon that's where Hijikata's group will interject into the narrative, Sugimoto will probably shack up with them for a bit (he's already interacted a lot with some of them like Prof Penis too)

Imagine Sugimoto's face if Kiroranke successfully radicalized Asirpa and she says that she wants to help the Ainu people with the gold. Imagine the look of despair he'd have knowing full well that she's diving into a conflict filled future that'll likely have her killing people at some point.

Any wacky theories on why Ogata is interested in the gold hunt in the first place?

Attached: D6DciBSUIAAXj_H.jpg (1199x800, 195K)

I honestly don't know what Sugimoto would even do in that scenario, aside from being completely mindbroken about it

Buy his grandma a nice house

It attracts women who are into the non-bishie types and actually have taste. For example a lot of the pixiv artists who did a lot of Kekkai Sensen art do GK now.
It has A LOT of women-attracting manly characters. Personally I have three GK men on my husbando 13 grid. I would like it for the comedic timing and the setting if they weren’t hot or lovable, though.

Ogata and Tsukishima are popular amongst chicks

Fuck I'm glad Kiro's gone.

We still haven't seen what Asirpa thinks of the current situation, as it stands she'll be handed over to Tsurumi and help that warmonger get the gold and she probably doesn't like that idea at all.

Noda immediately replaced him with another hairy bara ainu dude right after he died
also I think there's something fishy going on with him, Anji's body and his gun being missing is suspect, I think that skin he showed Kikuta might be one of those fake skins that are floating around

Attached: b002.jpg (829x1200, 229K)

You think he's possibly in cahoots with the regular army or the ainu tribes that gathered the gold?

The general rule of thumb is that when unsure about what's going on, assume it's Tsurumi's fault
maybe I'm reading too much into it though

No, I get that you're suspicious about these 2 guys suddenly showing up and wanting to join Tsurumi's party train. Noda has to have some plot purpose because the last thing Tsurumi needs out of any faction is more muscle.

what's the relevance of this again? What food is that?

It's pretty obvious.
Read the previous chapter.

>Mom's eyebrows
I'm delighted

derp. And I can only assume the guy recognized Ogata's russian as his kidnapper.

I don't think people of the time grasp the depth of Ogata's sociopathy and lack of genuine ampathy and loyalty. Tsurumi goes to great lengths to capture his men's hearts and it would be hard to believe they'd turn on him so easily but Ogata is not the average person mentally.

That was one of the local Ainu that was acting as a guide of the area.

Oh you're right, for some reason I remembered it as the other guy.

Can I dump a half-baked theory?

What is the plausibility that Tsurumi managed to find Wilk in Hokkaido? Wilk had a distinctive facial scar, and Tsurumi knew they were headed for Japan, so he could have made some kind of attempt to locate him and then learned about the gold in the process. I think it's entirely possible that Tsurumi had something to do with killing the Ainu and that Kiro is a red herring in that.

I think Kiro for sure was the one to skin Wilk's face (to keep Wilk from being extradited to Russia, or maybe hide him from Tsurumi). Kiro also probably joined the army during the war partially to let the heat die down from the whole ordeal. Although I'm really wondering if maybe Tsurumi had anything to do with Kiro entering into the war.

I also don't think Tsurumi would let go of Asirpa so readily even if she tells him the code. He probably has some kind of vendetta against Wilk and his bloodline for what happened to his wife and daughter.

Still 3 or 4 left.

>tsurumi and family
A-anymore of this?

Imagine having a weirdo like Tsurumi as your dad. I'd be surprised if he wasn't manipulating your friends behind your back into being nicer to you.

Ogata is such shit. Then again as much as I love Tsukishima I worry it’s only because his personality is almost entirely formed by everyone else around him being autistic or psychos.

Another bit of trivia, that anpan was only sold in army shops so it's double obvious.

>I think it's entirely possible that Tsurumi had something to do with killing the Ainu
I mean Tsurumi did tell Tsukishima about his "Ainu plan" before he ever got his face blown off.

Attached: DscdEmFU8AAFUU9-orig.jpg (1157x702, 59K)

Is Ogata going to still be a sniper now that he's missing an eye?

Attached: 01d64f978844f3c3a076ca4a6a929bbeb43ec8a1_255174_829_1200.jpg (829x1200, 249K)

Since it's his dominant eye I'd say he's fucked

Most of the Asians I know might get 5 hairs within four days

I just hope he dies so that the fanart stops being dominated by him

Let's say that Ogata is one of the kidnappers.
If he won't kill Koito, then how exactly will Ogata corrupt Koito into ditching Tsurumi if he was one of the kidnappers? What could Ogata possibily tell him that Koito would snap from his fanboy fantasies?

I mean Ogata saying "yeah I was one of the kidnappers" would feel a bit weak? 16 year Koito may have figured out already that Tsurumi was behind his kidnapping through that treat he's given at the last page. Knowing that one of them was Ogata wouldn't really open his mind with much.

Attached: IMG_20190510_144220.jpg (507x483, 26K)

I really don't root for Tsurumi that he may have also been the cause of his bigger brother being killed. Too much work just to manipulate one boy to become depressed.

Ogata will say that he kidnapped Koito under Tsurumi's orders, so he shouldn't be loyal to Tsurumi.

As someone else mentioned, I always theorized that the fact that Heiji was Hanazawa's BFF might come into play and it be revealed that Koito knew Yuusaku too; that maybe Ogata revealing that Tsurumi conspired in their deaths would turn Coitus. But it seems like they may not show up at all so fuck if I know.

Attached: 13340232465.jpg (216x239, 30K)

I wanna hear Takepon and Tsudaken speak horribly mangled Russian so bad, bros

>mfw Tsurumi manipulated the Chinese into shooting missiles at the boat

Attached: 1549692538095.jpg (250x250, 16K)

Trying to concoct in my mind possible end of flashback plot twists that could rival this one.

Attached: 1541514158373.jpg (720x521, 89K)

I'm fine with Tsuki & Koito getting backstories like this but I hope Usami is just a plain old weirdo, he's not likeable enough to carry this sort of story in my opinion (though he is moderately popular so what do I know...)
Nikaidou already has the stuff with his dead bro so presumably he won't get anything like this

>implying Usami won't have the most tragic backstory of all

I hate usami, I hope nothing is wasted on him
How did the thread react when this chapter dropped? I couldn’t tell it was him.

One of the most active threads there was in a while. Good stuff ;_;

Attached: 1542072804189.png (923x571, 399K)

Ogata is a russian spy.

Fuck Ogata! Stupid cunt

Ogata is an American spy that is performing dual undercover jobs in Russia and Japan

This but also a Chinese quadruple agent

Who is Ogata even?

A wildcat sniper
