what went wrong?
What went wrong?
Readership dropped as soon as the cards went away so Shueisha cancelled the manga
at that time, Junp didn't care if it was a successful manga, a successful anime and a successful card game
if it falls in the rankings, it is canceled ... Saint Seiya is another example
nowadays, Jump would give more chances for a manga that is already famous
Nothing? Except maybe more on seto and kisara and Zorc’s dick
*and remove Zorc’s dick
They loosely based the TCG on the bullshit from the manga. The writer doesn't understand how card games work. We need more moments like Yugi milling the opponent.
It was cancelled? Is that why the final arc felt so rushed?
Absolutely nothing. Best Shonen.
Nothing.
Nothing
The author got sick and had to cut the manga short which is why the last arc sucks.
Absolutely nothing, Kaz is based
Yep, Kaz goes into detail on the bunkobon release. A lot of his fanbase left during Memory World so his editors told him to wrap it up in two months
>left at the part where most of main characters finally get their history and development explored
What a shitty fanbase.
Nothing. The final arcs were great. Can't be arsed to search for the chapter/page, but the reveal that Atem and Bakura were seated playing a massive magical TTRPG was glorious.
Got it right here.
Things were also real though, it was weird.
Which is exactly why modern Jump is so much worse than classic Jump. Yu-Gi-Oh immediately got to continue in constant spin-off's and became one of the pillars of a spin-off Jump magazine. It's not like Takahashi couldn't make more manga if he wanted to and continue the whole thing. He just doesn't want to and allowed other people to do it instead.
It’s sad because the final Egyptian arc was fucking cool.
Jesus Christ marvel
Final arc was kinda lackluster due to Kaz needing to rush and Bakura was as threatening as a wet fart but overall, it was fine. Yugi beating Yami by sealing Resurrection of the Dead is an amazing part.
Nowadays, Jump actively supports manga if they look like they have the potential to become long running sources of income. Long gone are the days where you had to claw your way up.
If it weren't for Jump actively shilling both BnHA and Black Clover when they were desperate to find replacements for Naruto/Bleach, they wouldn't have lasted as long as they did. Mangaka nowadays have it easy.
It felt rushed
There could have been a bit more chapters to flesh out priest kaiba and the dragon girl (just to hammer in modern kaiba's obsession with BEWD) but other than that, it was fine. The finale of Yugi vs Atem was also handled well. Despite the circumstances behind it, the manga managed to wrap things up way better than a shit ton of other manga.
Don't act like japanese mangakas are these pure angels that can do no wrong and don't get pissy when their manga gets axed. Also a lot of you fuckers act like all ongoing marvel comics are just "SJW" and nothing else.
Everyone was doing so well not giving that faggot attention and you just had to ruin it.
Obviously that'd be generalizing to say all comics are like this and implying that mangakas are just nice and hardworking people (although most mangakas are pretty damn hardworking because of those hell schedules they have).
But that kind of pattern described in the picture is a thing that can be seen quite often. A number of comics have started shitting on their audiences, mostly for virtue signalling/political reasons (which involve agendas linked to "SJW" crowds). And it sucks.
Just felt like Kaz's humble attitude deserved a bit of appreciation, especially compared to the "holier-than-thou" shit we can see here. It doesn't deserve lengthy discussions, but I think it's kinda nice.
Comparing it with capeshit of all things is just asking for shitposting. At least keep it board relevant and compare against mangaka like Tatsuya Egawa who is notorious for being a smug asshole.
>Obviously that'd be generalizing to say all comics are like this
They literally are though, that's the thing. It's not a joke or generalization.
It's mainly Marvel. They fucked up and decide to chase after people who only bitch and don't care about actually buying comics.
Kaz was dying during the last arc, so he felt a need to give Zorc a dragon cock. Also, the ending being rushed meant the birth of Atem and Seto's rivalry didn't get the focus it deserved. Other than that, nothing really, it was a great manga.
To be fair, Marvel is the only comics people care about thanks to the movies now.
Based and blessed.
But they aren't though. It is only few titles that are like that and most of them get canceled pretty fast.
