It makes sense in the sense that I guess the interdimensional beings have souls too that were switched but it's just an added complication that really serves no purpose and never amounts to anything. These interdimensional beings never show up or are mentioned again and I think it's assumed in the part that the soul switch doesn't have that far of a range so why would it affect things in different dimensions?

Even if SCR wasn't tied to him anymore it's still his stand and I wouldn't think stabbing him with an arrow at that point would give him another stand.

These past ~9 episodes have been shit though. Fights with pretty much just talking and asspull ends, and focus on characters that we don't care much about.
Also it's been almost 30 episodes and I as the viewer feel almost no attachment to the main characters aside from Giorno and Bucciarati. Abbacchio's death just fell flat with his sob backstory that we forgot about over time; Narancia and Mista are just kind of there; Trish and Fugo are really forgettable.
Part 3 felt much more character-driven since we continually followed Jotaro and the gang's journey to reach Dio, but this part 5 feels more story-driven and the characters don't feel as deep.

Maybe you should get some reading comprehension since I never said that they were the origin of all stands.

But my entire argument in the first place is that the whole "switching beings from other worlds" thing isn't coherent and doesn't lead anywhere. The entire thing you're arguing is headcanon on par with Josuke going back in time and saving himself. It has no basis with anything stated in the manga and is just an attempt by you to salvage what is ultimately a useless couple of pages in the finale that don't affect anything and that's never brought up again.

Looking from the bits of the broken mask that kars uses we can see it's literally just stone with holes for the bone hooks to come out, the 'mechanism' jonathan is referring to seems to basically just the mask ((magically)) reacting to blood, since theres nothing else in the mask as it is other than engravings in an ancient language.

About that whole alien discussion thing, when reading the manga I assumed the beings appearing out of people's flesh were requiem version of their stands. There's no problem with them still being able to use their stands while it's not fully manifested in our world.

My headcanon goes like this : requiem stands are from another dimension or whatever, or just aren't material. They may or may not be tied to people in our world. In the second case, getting a stand would be getting a requiem stand linked to you, it would be having a requiem stand basically "choose" you, since the user's fighting spirit has an influence. In both case, I interpret having a stand as using a fraction of the requiem's power that manage to manifest in our world through the link with the user. Requiem stands can influence the material the arrow is made out of on top of that, hence the arrow chosing people.

The stone masks effect was probably discovered through the body control abilities of the pillar men, while the mechanism and material of it might have been generated through that as well. If we compare the pillar men to ancient humans, the stone mask is like a bow, the effect of which was discovered through the humans unique trait of extreme manual dexterity/throwing ability, and crafted via that same dexterity. It's probably not supposed to be some sort of apex of industrial pillarman civilization like a computer.

IMO it's not really all that dumb for jojo, but I get how other people could find problems with it, a lot of shit in jojo is stupid, but it basically just operates by a 'rule of cool' standard anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
