To be honest that was easy to miss. The action scenes were messy and hard to follow. It was not established that robocat can shoot lasers, if that's what he did, it might have been a sword throw, but one thing for sure it was a ranged attack and it's very unclear why robocat waited so long to use it.

you really can't judge a manga by it's first Chapter, you have to let it get to chapter 10 and then form an opinion since the artist had months if not years of work and effort poured into Chapter 1, but if he can keep up the quality and pace for the following Chapters is a different question.

What a horrible way of explaining the world in the beginning.

It was alright except for the art. The setting can really go anywhere, too early to judge if the plot is good or not. But the art is really a problem. The artist needs to learn to separate his backgrounds from his characters, essentially just use more tones, vary the line thickness a bit more and utilize empty space better. It's not obvious but using empty space is really important, and it's one of the things that separates the good artists from the best.

Wait until mangaplus releases. Scanlation fucks the artstyle completly up.

While the originals appear to be much better based on , the problem is still that there’s too much stuff on the panels and foreground and background blends together, making characters stand less out and everything gets lost in too many details.

Compare this to the scanlation one. I just think we should wait until we judge.

Most e-celebs likely wont know that it exists until it gets an anime. I know forneverworld (lol) and YonkouProd know about it, but they haven't done any videos on the first chapter yet. Other than that, its mostly small reaction channels making vids for it right now.

There's also quite a lot of postive reactions and fanart for it on Twitter from the western audience despite only having one chapter. Leddit has similar criticisms of the chapter that Yea Forums did, but the sub made for it is quickly gaining viewers. Its at 1,800, and for reference, JJK (one of the hyped up new WSJ series) is only at 1.2k with 50 something chapters out, and Chainsaw Man which has had great appeal in the west is also at 1.8k, but with a higher amount of chapters than S8.

What really matters is how the Japanese react on the official release day.

could a 45 minute first ep do it? the preview and countdown comics should only take like 5-10, but 72 pages might need 2 episodes.
