Is it overrated?

No.

Also obligatory viewing in two days.

I don't know if it's possible for anything by Kyoani to be genuinely rated. There's just too much baggage.

It was alright, I guess. The narrative was sort of mawkish and overwrought, while the animation had Kyoani's typical high level of quality. If it wasn't put out by a studio that gets people riled up by its very existence, it would probably just be another forgettable drama.

it's only draw are the visulas, just watch naruto it has a better story and the visuals are as good if not better

There is a Naruto reference in Violet Evergarden, so you should also watch this.

naruto ended here

I expected what little action in the show would be balls to the walls crazy.
The trailer for the books had Violet ride this giant axe thing so I was expecting flashbacks to be Amagi Brilliant Park levels of overdramatic.

why did you scare me like that user?!

I think that was unintentional, and isn't a reference

>you will never have a motherly 18th century European maiden wife
Why live?

Nah. Episode 10 was the single best episode in all of 2018, it was everything good about the show and everything that makes the show unique condensed in 23 minutes.

No. It's just that good.

Is it even rated at all?

why would you do this?

It's actually good.

Violet is for newfags. Main character is literally rip off of Saber. Discuss about this in >>/reddit

Oldfag here. Seen Letter Bee, seen Mushishi, seen Aria, seen Kino's Journey.(both) This is the best episodic drama to date. You're likely just biased against kyoani.

I don't think so but I personally preferred the episode with the playwright.

Mushishi is actually my favorite.
>You're likely just biased against kyoani.
I can't bring myself to like the story and characters for some unknown reason.
Every time I look at her it feels like copy a of saber. That's all.

The best episodic drama to date is a 6/10

the only great episode in a very boring anime, i'd say it isn't overrated.

Good taste.

>Every time I look at her it feels like copy a of saber.
Dumb fatefag.

Superior episode 10.

shit bait

I watched this entire anime in one sitting I can barely remember any of it.

Wow, I remember it almost perfectly. You might have recollective deficiency, see a professional asap.

It's the actual good episode.

The show is overrated.

Well Tsurune was made by KyoAni in the very same year, but you don't see any falseflagging/shitposting about it at all. In fact, it's entirely possible to have a reasonable Tsurune thread on Yea Forums, unlike VEG where any attempt at sensible discussion will inevitably devolve into circlejerking.

I'd argue that Episode 10 was the highlight of the show. If all of VEG was like it, VEG would have had a good chance of being an AOTS or AOTY candidate. Instead, the two or three good episodes it had got dragged down by a slow start and a contrived end.

Overrated in how people like to shit on it.
It's a genuinely good show.

the episode is held back by the fact that a life insurance commercial already used the same plot

Nice shit taste there plebian

Wow, the Saberface argument. Never heard THAT one before.
Oh! Never heard Reddit before either! Finely argued, user.

No. This episode really pulled at the heartstrings.

Is this all of VE in a nutshell? Just several unconnected sad stories to pull your heartstrings a bit?

Honestly Episode 3 hit me the hardest.
Being open with someone you care about being your family and saying what is on your heart and how hard that is is something i can sympathize with.
Am i the only one?.

This autism has gone too far.

yes, it's just a collection of short tear-jerkers pandering to effeminate men.

No. It's a 𝓼𝓸𝓻𝓽 𝓸𝓯 coming of age story about a girl trying to understand the meaning of a phase her Major told her. The show is unique so it's not easy to describe it simply. Format is episodic drama and it's character driven. There is lots of solid development for Violet throughout the series.

Yes, as much as the show itself.

only good episode

But that altchan user has a point though.
She has never truly understood what love is and she undestands it after a fight on a train and not in one of those sad stories from which she could develop as a character.
It really is
>I dont know what love is
>Oh wait i do now lmao roll credits

This simply isn't true. She learns about the different types during the time she spends with each client

She feels cold and unemotional all the way until the very end in my opinion.
I just didnt see her development in those episodes between the beginning and the end.
Im not saying that the anime sucked, no, i liked it, except it just had these couple of problems.

I don't think you were paying enough attention then. She shows very subtle emotion through her eyebrows since the very beginning. I remember other body language going as far back as episode 5. You see it in her hands as Abelfrejya cries, it's timed well with the sound and this webm doesn't do justice too it. It's this polished nuanced expression that makes Evergarden such a good character drama.

I love you mom

>tfw i bought my mommy flowers after i watched episode 10
VE is about an autistic girl who discovers the joy of typing.

>Letter Bee
I miss that show.

Kek...... At least not shit-fag
