I've yet to see this much hype at once on Yea Forums while a show isn't airing besides maybe eva.

The war ends in Episode 21. They fight Klaxxohime and her super-Klaxxosaur, but 02 (as a clone) cancels her out. She dies mentioning that the kids are pawns who are being used, which shakes them really badly.

All the Franxx are shut down, and the Parasites are recalled into concentration camps for processing. Hiro plans a breakout. However, Plantation 13 is targeted for extreme sanction, and they send the Nines to stop them. Hachi and Nana show up piloting a Franxx (the one that was meant for Hiro and Naomi) and heroically die buying time. Dr. Franxx gives Hiro the override to reactivate all the Franxx, and Hiro rallies the Parasite forces. A huge battle ensues between the Parasite forces and APE's forces. The good guys are losing, but 02 uses her Klaxxosaur Queen powers, and summons an army of Klaxxosaurs to break the line.

Plantation 13 battles their Nines counterparts, as Hiro races off to confront Papa and APE. Mitsuru starts freaking out, but Ikuno / Futoshi throw themselves into the path of a spear meant for him. Ikuno and Futoshi die.

Remembering everything, Mitsuru starts kicking ass (putting out levels of sheer power he couldn't manage before) and Plantation 13 overcomes the Nines. This is foreshadowing.

Hiro duels Alpha. Alpha has a super-Franxx, and begins to crush the life of out Strelizia. Hiro reveals his Klaxxosaur horns, and he turns the tide with a surge of power. It's revealed that there are three people piloting Strelizia, instead of two: 02 is pregnant. This also explains why Genista's abruptly more powerful. Hiro meets APE's council, and tells Papa that the war is over. Papa agrees to his terms, and takes off his helmet. It's revealed that Papa is Hiro's father. He takes his defeat gracefully, and says:

> "After all, a man can be forgiven...For having some pride in his son."

APE leaves the planet, the Parasite forces repopulate it. In the ending, we see a giant sakura tree, and half-Klaxxosaurs running around.

Hiro's father has to be somehow significant. It doesn't seem to be Doctor Franxx, having his father actually be Papa's biological child creates a parallel between them.

Delete fatty and ikuno and roll their traits into Zorome and Miku. Zorome can have lewd thoughts about Kokoro's body and be obnoxious while Miku can be tsun-gay for Ichigo
Start MitsuKoko a lot earlier and build up more parallels in their relationship to that of Hiro02. Drop Ichigo from the Hiro02 love triangle earlier, actually develop her relationship with Goro.

No aliens, Papa are edgy trans-humanists wanting to become gods through moving beyond the limitations of physical bodies through brain uploading. Some of the Papas don't feel cool with that and are conspiring with Hakase for a radical plan B to go back and resurrect humanity.

Parasites are genetically engineered to be biologically compatible with klaxo biomaterial and can survive on the contaminated earth just fine which would kill any normal ningen or immortal without the protection of a plantation, piloting causes mutations. APE uses drugs and surgery to suppress it but inevitably they either die from treatment or are killed off when they grow too inhuman or independent

02's supposed infertility is due to the fact there's no male as klaxxd as her to be genetically compatible, except that Hiro's DINOLEVEL has hit record levels as he's started developing fangs and horns a lot earlier. 02 becomes shocked when she finds out she's pregnant with Hiro's child and for Hiro that's the trigger that makes him go from only caring about being with Zero Two to having to fight the world for their future.

Final war is cyber-Papas leading most of APE, drugged out parasite kids and the Nines vs P13, enlightened Parasites, Klaxohime's forces and a few of the adults lead by Hakase. Strelizia goes into space to BTFO Alpha and Papa's space station HQ.

Post APE all the other parasites children are born with cute horns in the same color as their parents mecha. Humanity and Klaxosaurs know they will gradually go extinct, replaced by a hybrid race of onis who they vow to watch over and protect as they develop.

Dr., Nana, and Hachi knew what was going on the whole time and have been silently resisting APE and preparing the children for it.

The nines are fleshed out antagonists now and there are plenty of fights and encounters with them.

Klaxohime did actually act as a mother to 02 for a while, but they were separated. You can add that to the reasons behind why they do what they do.

Bad suggestion all around. Without the Teen drama there'd be no reason to watch this series. Having more focus on fights, is the WORST part about this series. All they do is fight lifeless creatures and it doesn't further the plot one bit and the enemies don't have any intelligence either.

I agree with this. Though I don't think it should completely eliminate the drama, but just dial it back a bit. The problem with the original was that it spent WAY too much time on the teen drama and not enough on world building or action. Really a medium should be reached to with it all.

Reminder that being a writer means nothing, and that the director is more important, as he has to manage the entire project.
Also, reminder that a project has lots of outside factors influencing why a show ends up like it does instead of how it ought.

Darling in the Franxx is what you get when you consider the expectations, the dropping motivation, studio Trigger being incompetent and leaving, a voice actor being so sick that he had to be replaced for the finale, the sponsors demanding results so that they can make money from dumb otaku, the limited budget, and of course Japan's already harsh working ethics.

Anybody who is a mere beginner at project management classes already knows that.

Darling in the Franxx, the anime series, can never be different under another writer. Writers are not that important at all.

It's kind of impossible, you would have to do massive changes right from the start and at that point it would no longer really6 be ditf. All the flaws are in the first part, the ending does a really good job at patching everything. In fact, given how many holes the show has by episode 16, I can't imagine a better ending. The only things I would change are the rushed action scenes, I would turn the space battles into something more epic, ttgl style.
