Miyazaki will faze into sakura and blow into the wind after watching himself dethroned.
The animation looks pretty bad for a movie
that's a little hard to judge considering there's still barely any decent footage but some of the hand drawn cuts feel more like a late night tv show than big bombastic theatrical movie. ah well
Idk what we've seen so far is pretty basic, sure, but I feel like they wouldn't want to give away their best cuts in the trailers.
Idk from how well trigger's animation has been looking the last few years I'm not worried
>seething otaku ran out of insults so he tries to talk animation.
You'd have to be a huge retard to shittalk even a single cut from the trailers.
>Movie has CGI in it
This better have some good fucking animation in it
Trailers typically try to make a movie look good. What's shown in them is generally a movie at its best. I
the greatest anime film of all time was released about 40 years ago
t. 1979
>Conquered 2018
Uhhhh
Literally what show did they put out in 2018 again?
Gridman?
How the FUCK do we stop them anti-trigger bros?
can't stop them now
The two shows that get almost daily threads that hit bump
The edit guy needs to win a nobel prize for these
Kai Ikarashi is one of the animation directors btw
YO
The kid did one of my favorite shots from franxx. some great shots from devilman, luluco, and kiznaiver.
dope!

glad to make somebody happy at least
this article casually drops it alongside other Trigger peeps

He’s still really young, but I hope he gets an orginal project soon
Does anybody care about this? The official trailer that came out months ago barely have 250k views. In comparison, the VEG teaser already has 1M view barely a month after being released.
hard to talk about anything when there’s barely any news and 90% of this board cant watch it until gets a theatrical release, if any
YO it's the sleepy kid from the documentaries.
I really hope so too.
Thanks for the link.
Funny how in the documentary his cut was used to how yoh's big animator dick and he's now this good.
that doesn't explain why promare has no hype whatsoever behind it. I think it's time that Trigger gets out of making shitty originals and just stick to adaptation.
Holy shit
I'm speechless
That's some high level retard statement you just said.
wow.
Oh well. can't cure stupid, right?
>doesn't trend on twitter
>multiple official trailers get barely any views
It's dead on arrival like 90% of triggershit. They should stick to adapting well known material like Gridman if they want to survive as a studio. even their patreon is losing patrons now.
>thinks their patreon is what keeps them afloat
>thinks people watched ssss gridman for the super sentai
Keep telling to ourself whatever makes you happy, kiddo.
>ourself
This is a nice freudian slip.
Trigger hasn't put out anything good since the original LWA
Whatever makes you happy, friend.
Nice try OP.
>wastes a minute of his life responding instead of hiding thread
>pretends to have evaded bait
HAAAAAAAAA
Stay mad fag
this is first time seeing what he looks like and he looks exactly how I imagined him to be
Is this from the LWA documentaries?
Yeah
I think it's the enchanted parade.
Yoh examines his shot at the beginning.
sometimes later the interviewer comes up to him, he's looking half dead but with a winner smile.
I think he's one of the guys driving to get the outsourced cuts too near the end.
>he's looking half dead but with a winner smile.
I think he's one of the guys driving to get the outsourced cuts too near the end.
geez. But he’s come a long way since then, seriously

HOLY SHIT
ANOTHE KANADA DESCIPLE
That's a beautiful kanada dragon.
Went from being the guy who gets his cut singled out for not having enough weight in the doc to being this punchy and weightful with his works.
Damn nice stuff.
I'm on the same page. hope he gets an original directorial one day.
Yeah, most of trigger's younger animators are more yoshinari inspired but Ikarashi shamelessly taps into his Kanada roots so most of his shit feels like it's ripped straight out of some old 80's OVA. It's one of the reasons why he sticks out the most and it's a shame he still doesn't get that much recognition now.
Did you see his Gridman episode? He storyboarded and AD'd it, it's relatively standalone too so you can get the gist of it pretty fast. It's genuinely one of the best things created at the studio. Giving stuff like the LWA OVA a run for their money
When I watched episode 9 it stood out to me so much I went and looked up who did it.
I'm glad more and more animators are taking inspo from the past and combining it into their work.
Leave it to the new kids on the block to show 'em how it's done.
>Movie
Oh, it's not a series?
Not interested, then.
lol.
Trigger got some legend veterans and some insane younger animators. I'm enjoying every time they put something out cause of that. lots of passion, and lots of oldschool quality.
Personally I enjoy the projects helmed by their younger staff, and stuff like Gridman #9 just cemented it even more. I know Kiznaiver doesn't get that much I love but I respect it because Hiroshi Kobayashi went all the way in with his boards, and they had so much synergy with Trigger's crew too. That was also the first time Ikarashi really started showing off.
..Actually it was Inoubattle, but im pretty sure anyone with a functioning brain made sure to skip that.
I loved kiznaiver. I didn't ind the change of pace
the experimentation was really cool. and tenga was self insert for highschool me.
Actually watched supernatural battles
put it off for 3 years thinking it doesn't look trigger enough.
I regret doing that, when I did watch it I reall enjoyed it. there was some love poured into it.
I'm a bit fan of the vets, but I didn't ind that they weren't there then.
Supernatural battles has somewhat of a cult following. it gets a thread here on Yea Forums once every week or two.
>I loved kiznaiver. I didn't ind the change of pace
Bitchin. Really thought it was just me for a while.
But with InouBattle I can't see myself watching it unless my life was on the line or something, I know there's some good stuff but I feel like I wouldn't be enough to counterbalance well, anything else. Cool to know it's got some kind of following.
Also i'm not sure if I asked, but are you looking forward to promare?
I'm OP
can't wait for Promare.
Same with the kiznaiver thing. wherever I looked only heard bad things. Didn't get why cause show had killer aesthetic, a ton of fantastic animation and a story I enjoyed a lot.
I was in the same mindset too about supernatural battles.
was board and on the trigger youtube channel sat and watched the first 8 minutes of the show.
Went then and watched the rest.
I never thought I'd enjoy a battle highschool harem but there's a lot of love poured into this.
It's got a lot of soul poured into random shots cause the show is less intensive. It's got some serious style. It's got one of the highest praised scenes in anime voice acting to date.
Also if that makes a difference. they have a bunch of klk references all over the place. a lot of backdrop mako and klk weapons.
>I'm OP
ah, didn't know haha.
I'm pretty torn with Promare, wasn't looking all that forward to it when it was first announced but i'm a little more curious since we know more about the people on it (Most notably Bahi JD jesus christ) but I haven't been fond of Imaishi's output since KLK, I know production issues definitely brought it down like any other poorly planned seasonal show, but it seems like he's been making "ironically bad" shit like it's his new brand now. (Luluco, Machspeed) Really hope Promare is a sign showing that he'll break out of that phase soon.
And holy shit that gif is nostalgic, I saw it everywhere when the show was airing, it was one of the first things that got me watch it. Elastic as shit.
Not a show it's a film.
I would probably never get why anyone wouldn't enjoy machspeed or luluco.
however
His humor is a bit of an acquired taste but even if you can't stand constant crazy and fuck jokes the animation and storytelling are crazy out of this world.
He also got that thing in his art that leaks energy off the page and has that nice oldschool feel.
It took me a few times to watch till I fully appreciated the full beauty of luluco and machspeed, but man every time I rematch it it is crazier and crazier and I notice how much I missed.
Different people got different tastes though, so I can't tell you you'd feel the same.
Either way. the film looks crazy, and it has that animation feel where you don't feel like you are looking at drawings anymore but are drawn in the world. looks crazy so far. can't wait to see it.
>Funny how in the documentary his cut was used to how yoh's big animator dick and he's now this good
Funny? It's to be expected. These animators went into the LWA project because of Yoshinari, which is no little deal. Aiming to get as good as him and grinding these years, It's natural he's getting this good, even though his style resembles Imaishi a bit more.
That was ova1
enchanted parade was not a student educational program, it was a studio endeavor.
Although, I'm sure he is taking every moment of his time there as educational.
Not just Imaishi, kanada. yoh yoshinari is a disciple of him too.
Absolute legendary animator.
I just think imaishi's humor works best when he's firing on all cylinders, it's hard for me to find luluco's visual humor to be funny when it's presented so plainly, like in pic related, high octane humor can't be funny when it's presented in such a low octane way. Least, those are my thoughts. He's still a very skilled animator/illustrator for sure, but the lines start to blur whenever he's in the director's chair.
is it just me or is this movie oversaturated and has really poor line definition?
the preview all look like kid show saccharine.
don't get me wrong, i love trigger...but.....it looks made our of neon baloons
I'm not really sure I follow the whole high octane low octane thing.
>imaishi's directing
He's got a really strong voice as a director, there's a really cool comp on yt showing some of the interesting parallels of his specific direction.
youtube.com
I think this most comes across in action which is great cause this is what this film is. even if you don't like his current comedy you don't have to worry cause this is meant to be serious action.
Colors aren't any more vibrant than klk. the thing you noticed is the brightly colored outlines.they never used those to that extreme in the past.
>I'm not really sure I follow the whole high octane low octane thing.
Guess what i'm trying to say is, Luluco had tons of moments where the characters were going a mile and minute and pacing was going at breakneck speed but at the same time all the layouts were so flat and staged in a way with no urgency at all it took me out of show a bit. Same with KLK, except it was taken seriously most of the time so the disconnect was even stronger.
Ryuko's final fight with Nui is the straw the broke the camel's back with me. What was supposed to be a serious and climatic moment for the show and Ryuko's character felt undermined by the fight feeling no different as the two-star lackies she fought against in the early eps.
youtube.com
hopefully this gets across with what i was trying to say earlier, nice amv by the way. still havent watched gurren.
Yeah none of these things ever othered me.
even after you pointed it out now.
What can I say could be taste.
Either way klk had comedic notes fro the start, where promare looks to be taking itself very seriously so you might get your wish.
I don't mind either way cause I think he pulls gold both in comedy and action.
BTW. neither have I.
Bottom line is, even with our differences in taste one thing is for sure.
Promare is gonna be one hell of an eyecandy.
>Promare is gonna be one hell of an eyecandy.
hell yeah.
Who are you gonna ship, Yea Forums?
SInce it's a film there's also a chance we will get some sweet sweet uncensored fully drawn out nips like the good ol days.
I wonder if galo goes for sporty or glasses
I prefer sporty so far but they are both top girls.
>galo
>sporty or glasses
please
...
so close
they can almost
>smooch
What kind of rating did this movie get? R++ for extra, extra lewd?
a part of me wishes we'll get a homo end
I hope it gets an R cause man I don't want them to hold anything back
based
It may not have been an educational program, but they still used Enchanted Parade and the anime to train their younger animators, giving them more room to figure things on their own, while the older crew was working on other stuff (like Franxx, Grindman and Promare).
I don't know enough about their inner workings so sure 'll take your word for it
except, in the end.
When they were going crazy to finish the cuts n time they had everyone working on it. also they outsourced some shots so the focus mustve been a lot less heavy on training than ova1.
Also enchanted parade was 2015 I don't think they were even close to animation of any of these 3 properties in 2015.
>Fujobaiting
What's wrong with her head lol
They come in for the yaoi they stay for the kino
You gotta play dirty with these fujos.
>baiting
Wait... that's a guy? What?

Welcome to the club.

They said no homo before the kiss too.
>3D garbage
>edgy cartoon shit
Truly the best movie all time.
>just a worse looking Kamina
Truly an infinite well of talent and creativity from the great minds at Trigger.
Yeah, they can't stop shitting out literally the same character over and over.
Correct
