It's a pretty good movie, had a lot of kino moments.

Biggest flaw with the movie is that they played it a bit too safe, even though the queen had a op as fuck Geass and caught lelouch off guard, it still ended up being a very one sided victory with lelouch not losing anyone important.

It's a solid 7-8/10, be sure to brush up on your knowledge of the series because even though I was caught up with all the major parts there were some things I was out of the loop for such as everyone clapping when orange boy came back or everyone laughing when ogi said the one time he doubted zero didn't work.

The way she explained it, whenever she dies o r takes damage, C's World replaces the damaged parts, which Lloyd compares to something like a computer backup. Since she is still healing even though C's World is fucked, she says theres probably still some leftover parts for her. But the way she words it, it doesn't sound like she have unlimited source anymore.

If the majority of humans in CG knew what the World of C was really like, what the afterlife was really like, a lot of organized religions in World of C would honestly lose a lot of followers.

This is just my assumption but World of C seems to have been inspired by the Shinto's religion's take on the afterlife.

In Shinto, good or bad people end up in the same Japanese Underworld and even the Japanese Gods, themselves, end up in the same Underworld.

There's no special treatment in the Shinto afterlife so good or bad people can still mingle with each other in the same afterlife.

This is the main reason why Buddhism was able to steal some Japanese hearts when it spread to Japan. The Shinto Afterlife was too "equal" to everybody and Buddhism at least allowed you a chance to reincarnate or spend your afterlife in a better place.

Akito has a bunch of problems despite having a lot more time to play with its elements than this movie. Comparartively, the movie did what it needed and could do in less than 120 minutes.

Calling it a worthy follow-up is silly because the movie isn't meant to be another ending, so it's not competing with R2's end. They are making more after this, so it'll be a matter of time before they actually try to have another conclusive outcome.

It's unclear whether they fixed it, but at least some of the issues shouldn't apply anymore.

Japanese suicide is not the same as American suicide, user. Sometimes people will offer to kill themselves simply as a symbolic gesture. That's not an idea invented by this movie.

I think the point of the hug from Kallen and Lelouch's non-reactions is that he's not romantically interested in her. He found it awkward, in other words, so said nothing. In turn, she doesn't have much to tell him afterwards. I think it makes sense, if you put that in perspective.

Having a Code at this point doesn't necessarily grant permanent immortality and endless revivals when the World of C is messed up, I would assume. That would be consistent.

I think that is at least a viable way to attempt another kind of plot without just repeating S1 and R2 over and over again. That said, we'll see if they really end up going in this direction or choose another one when the next project is formally announced, which should hopefully be late this year or at least during 2020.

It does seem they have similar ideas in mind about Code Geass at Sunrise, but they probably won't do everything exactly like Toei has done with Dragonball.

It seems she attempted to raise the fallen girls into action, even though her Geass power seems to be to go back in time 6 hours upon death, yet she attempted to raise those dead girls, and Lelouch fooled her into thinking he had the same power. That was rather confusing.

They laughed at scenes like when Kallen found out Lelouch was alive, or when Suzaku got emotional because he thought Lelouch had been manipulating him as well, and there were plenty of other scenes in which the people at the theatre laughed that weren't amusing or ludicrous to deserve a laugh.

And even that I think was supposed to be temporary, so that she would wake up by a time in which it would be impossible to her to undo their defeat. However, since her brother died, it seems she just let herself die.

No, I think it's meant to come across like in episode 1 of CG. Someone else killed them, perhaps in a battle or persecution, and they are offering the power to whoever survived, if they have a will to live, etc.

The movie isn't really clear on this. For one, we don't know when she got that Code and from whom. Second, we do know the World of C ended up fucked after Lelouch messed with it. Third, we also know her ability used to be different (she had some degree of precognition, rather than being able to go back to the past).
So, in a way, it's like the Code abilities (immortality and magic) mixed in a way with her Geass ability (precognition), and gave her a power that somehow mixed both things.

In Lelouch's case we know he's immortal since he died and returned. There was the question on whether he would last just a day, but the ending of the movie and the post-credits showed he's still alive. That being said, his Geass seems to work the same as always. So, other than immortality, we have no idea how many of the Code powers he's able to use. For one, in the movie he was never lethally harmed or received any serious injury (though he appeared to look unharmed after he took that beating from Suzaku, and in a normal case, that ought to have left some marks, but maybe the just left those out of the sake of aesthetics) for us to see if he had the same abilities V.V. used to have.

Well there's not re much else to talk about until sunrise reveals the next part of the 10 year project. Almost everyone else already had their stories concluded from the original show. CC was the only one with no real closure to her relationship with Lelouch. Suzaku at this point would be the only other OG character who needs a follow up.

yeah, it was even included during the special Picture Drama "the Masked Confession Tournament" which sets after "the Stolen Mask" episode, with C.C. saying she loved Nunnally with the way she hold onto living despite her blindness and unable to walk. If they kept the concept of Nunnally being kidnapped following the tv canon you think that perhaps C.C. would had also decided to rescue her, having a slight idea of the kingdom was behind it if it exists in the tv canon universe.

The movie is honestly entertaining and really is at least worth a watch, but unless you're a Lulu/C.C. shipper, which truthfully I am not, there really isn't enough to the movie. Theres a lot of interesting concepts briefly mentioned but not properly explored, and I think characters like Shamna and Shalio could be interesting if we got to explore them more, but the movie rushes everything except the Lelouch/C.C. stuff. Also, Lelouch leaving everyone but C.C. at the end just feels forced, especially in regards to many other factors.

Personally, I think I'm enjoying the Lancelot & Guren manga more. I like the focus on Suzaku and Kallen to explore their characters, and their new sidekicks aren't half bad ways to do that or characters in their own right.

I was kind of thinking the involvement of the skull-like entity that granted Shin Geass and the Caretaker of Timespace; since it was implied the entity granted Geass to humans which meant the original Code Bearers came from them. Also, given the concept of the residual Code that was used to choke on Lelouch, perhaps the Caretaker or of the God from Cs' World would of gave Lelouch a second chance of life to stop those that would of 'stop the march of time' which would of been the opposite of the Geass command he gave it.

The only reason those moments were good for me though, is because it reminded me of how good the original series was. Lelouch monologuing and killing the soldiers? Just reminded me how the stronger version when he did it in the original series. His tactics? Yeah that was cool, but he did it way better before. C2 snapping him out of his hopelessness? Fuck yeah, but c'mon git on your old level.

I don't even mind the direction it started off with, the dude's mind shattered or whatever. Interesting direction, could've done some solid work on it. Then they ended up winging it in pretty much every direction. Barely cohesive, a bunch of luck, shit that didn't matter.

I also hated how much they disregarded his past. Like why the fuck would you retcon Shirley's death? It was literally one of his most defining moments, where he killed innocent children out of his pain. And then she wasn't even a significant part of the movie in general! Just, why.

That's not all. C2 became a blushu tsundere at the end when that wasn't her type at all. You'd expect the reveal scenes to be stronger, but nah. Just a bit of slight excitement. Like they were doing it for effect more than anything else. Also, while we're on the subject, the two gettting together is just creepy. First, C.C. is ancient and was more like Lelouch's aunt with the way her and Marianne's relationship was. Second, there's barely any chemistry between the two, and they were more like professional somewhat-buddies than a couple.

Assuming you didn't pay enough attention to how thigns were changing for her since, say, the amnesia sequence and even right before when Lelouch saved her from Charles. This isn't automatically making them a couple (though people are reading between the lines to get there), but simply Lelouch wanting to live with her in the same way, since he has a Code and all.

I thought Lelouch did some decent figuring out in this movie, so I am not sure what's your problem there. It made perfect sense to me how he eliminated the other possibilities before figuring out what the Geass could be.
