Were you under the impression that it was something else?

Welcome to late capitalism.

I'm tired of waifubait RPG shit

You can easily tell how soulless this is by the lack of awesome chibi boobies. Not so sure about the cash-grab part, because I always thought sex sells.

What are some soulful, non-cash making industries?

>Anime is a soulless cash-making industry.

anime is the only medium besides japanese vidya that still has any soul left though.

What's wrong with it

>japanese vidya

Oh boy I can't wait to play [insert old ass game] remake or sequel! Playing the same game over 10 times is the best!

you can "X is a soulless cash making industry" to almost anything really

what's wrong with sequels? are you seriously insisting that everything in the universe should be one-off and once a story ends there can be no continuation?
SMT/Persona does a good job of making sequels that explore new territory while staying familiar. sure spin offs are cash grabby but Persona 5 was genuinely well made and you can tell easily that the developers at ATLUS earnestly want to give players an enjoyable experience.

Other than that Japanese indie developers have been gaining a lot of steam and I'm hopeful to see what new IPs I'll be hooked on in the future

>it's another bait thread so morons can engage in circular ad-hominem arguments simply to get (you)s

Yea Forums is soulless

>I LIKE
That's where you're wrong kiddo.

Doing the same game with the same story and same mechanics over and over is not "soul", is the opposite actually. And Pokemon is a great example of that, is repetitive and those repetitve titles are taking over.

Saying that japanese games got more soul than other forms of media like movies, books and series is just retarded.

>Playing the same game over 10 times is the best!
It unironically is.
I have over 600 hours in Metal Gear Solid 5 and i'm not stopping yet

I didn't say that, I enjoy many forms of art. But to say that is has no soul at all is untrue.
I agree games like Pokemon which attempt to prolong the same feeling you got from playing the first game are childish. Maturity is realizing that every feeling, even the good ones, have to end. But the game is marketed to children, and I see each new generation as simply giving each generation of children a new Pokemon game to internalize. Just like I look fondly on playing red with my dad as a child, I'm sure these children, too, will look on when they have children of their own, and they can share Pokemon with them.

Of course not every sequel is like this, and I bring up SMT again. The mechanics and demons stay the same, but the narrative and characters are different. It's enjoyable to be at least somewhat familiar in a novel setting, especially when you begin to draw parallels between new characters and those in previous games who you've already come to love.

In the end, I hope you can come to terms with the fact that the world is ultimately run by money, and no industry is going to be entirely altruistic. However, that doesn't mean there are many many people put there who love what they do and want as many people as possible to enjoy something they had a hand in creating.
