You do realize that in My Hero Academia, All-Might became the symbol of Peace, he DID improve society as a whole through his efforts, and now Deku wants to follow in his footsteps. You chose a terrible example to make your point.
William Peterson
Heroes come from places of privilege that benefit from the current state of things, no fucking shit they're all about order and the status quo. Villains are people wrong by the system and the current state of things, they'll either lash out mindlessly, or try to change the system. Do you know why there's no such thing as a villain who succeeds? Because hey stop being villains once they succeed.
Owen Lewis
You're fotgetting the countless stories where the hero is an underdog fighting against a corrupt system controlled by the villains, and the hero changes society for the better by the end of his story.

Capeshit is just WWE with worse writing. All the hero shit is just there as a shiny label to make retards think things are more significant than they are.

Wow bro, so edgy and deep, shows that you are a true thinker, Alexa play In The End
Evan Jenkins
It unironically is a bad thing. Limiting the freedom of a normal, bodily function is Tyranny.
Connor Martin
>while “villains” try to improve society as a whole That's true for a very limited number of comic villains. Dr Doom is sometimes praised as someone that wants to rule the world because it would be better with him in charge (at least "better" according to what he values), but that doesn't mean he's not a mad authoritarian who actually is the status quo and the Man in Latveria. Also most villains are full of bullshit and smart enough to give justifications that seem plausible. Boku no Hero villains are all basically sociopaths or anarchists, the kind of characters that a kid that grew up admiring Heath Ledger's Joker would write if he landed a job writing comics.
That rarely happens in superhero stories, though it's very common in other genres. Superheroes are the modern knights, stories glorify their monopoly of violence because they help to keep the status quo in place.
Brayden Richardson
I don't know why people act that crazy about quirk control, when it was shown that it's limited to the public sphere (since Deku's doctor didn't call the police when Deku's mom started attracting objects to show off her power). The only freedom that's being limited is the freedom to shoot laserbeams from your eyes on the streets.
Chase Hall

Hve you tried to imagine how the middle east, india and pakistan or America would be if everyone suddenly got superpowers?

>because they help to keep the status quo in place. You clearly haven't been reading that many superhero comics then. The establishment is almost always against them somehow, especially in Marvel. Evil government officials and evil corporations are some of the most common villains they face.
If you get attacked, the law says that you're not allowed to use your laser eyes to defend yourself.
Liam Murphy
You are allowed to defend yourself. The problem is that you can't rush in to defend your friends if you're not being attacked yourself.
Cooper Powell
That goes completely against the principle of self-defense, self-defense applies to the defense of others as well. If your friend is being threatened with lethal force, you are allowed to employ lethal force to protect your friend. At least that's the case in America, land of the free where you can use guns in self-defense, don't know how it is in Japan.
Oliver Perry
BNHA is shit writing if you want to watch/ read somthing with real heros who tackle real issues read a marvle comic

Brayden Martin
Not only was he not right but there was literally no way he would succeed in the long run since someone would eventually rise against him no matter what, even if he broke his limiter and saitama didn't exist someone would manage to do it and break the terror he created.
Andrew Parker
Garou was literally a guy choosing the easy way by being a villain when he deep down wanted to be a hero. Hell, its part what made him so entertaining in the end.
Garous story is trying to do a Lelouch essentially, but taking away the pretense of that being a good plan.
Not just that, he wants to rid the hearts of people from the vaguely defined "evil" in their hearts and instead he would just amplify it because his reign or terror would bring out the worst in humanity
Julian Collins
" 'I have a dream.' That one day every person in this nation will control their own Quirk. A land of the truly free, dammit. A nation of Liberation, not restriction! Ruled by strength, not heroes! Where the law changes to suit the individuals quirk, not the other way around. Where Quirks and justice are back where they belong: in the hands of the people! Where every man is free to think - to act - for himself! Fuck all these limp-dick Heroes and chickenshit Politicians. Fuck this 24-hour Internet spew of Stain and LOV bullshit! Fuck Japanese pride! Fuck the media! FUCK ALL OF IT! Japan is diseased. Rotten to the core. There's no saving it - we need to pull it out by the roots. Wipe the slate clean. BURN IT DOWN! And from the ashes, a new Japan will be born. Evolved, but untamed! The Quirkless will be purged and the strongest will thrive - free to live as they see fit, they'll make Japan great again! In my new Japan, people will quirk their bed and kill for what they BELIEVE! Not for money, not for hero fame! Not for what they're told is right. Every man will be free to fight his own wars!"
BnHA is very flawed and fairly basic but I would still recommend it over any current Western capeshit.
Lucas Powell
It has to be, if he wanted to be halfway serious it would have been DC instead, they also declined, but there are still signs of effort once in a while.

No. All Might was a stop gap that used his popularity to try to sway society in a certain direction. He is not a hero
Jack Campbell
>sway society in a certain direction How is that not trying to change the status quo? How is he not a hero considering all the lives he saved and he took down AFO, the criminal who had been ruling Japan from the shadows for over a century?
Lucas Murphy
Go to sleep Shiggy
Thomas Russell
The liberation front is a good example of someone being correct but not right. Yes there are issues with the current society where quirks are largely suppressed save a handful of licensed individuals. And as seen with Toga, Quirk counselling isn't precise or comprehensive and can further ostrocize a person for having a quirk that is seen negatively. We also know about the mutant hating groups that populate the world.
However, terrorism isn't the answer here and neither is unrestricted usage of quirks because as has been shown time and time again. If any tom, dick, or larry just started using their quirks for whatever reason it could lead to chaos and destruction. Even something as simple as Gentle trying to help someone resulted in I believe a fatality because he interrupted someone else's attempt.
Camden Campbell
Not a fatality, but yeah, the guy got heavily injured.
You also get people dragging their car on the roof and about to throw it into the crowd if you let them run loose evidently.
I wonder what would Garou think of All Might, he basically wants to be Opposite-All might
Connor Gomez
Sounds like you want to read Beastars
Bentley Jackson
All Might genuinely would be one of those people that could talk the guy down. If you want to put it into MHA then Garou is pretty much some bizarre Hybrid between Deku and Shiggy.

Jose Martin
Garou could never beat pic related. He has no right to question the status quo.
Villains are edgy little faggots who wouldn't think twice about throwing a car with your mom at it to fight a hero. Lets not pretend they're outsiders fighting against the oppressive hero society when these retards would've been throwing molotovs at police in our world
Cameron Martinez
>mfw Garou is only one year older than Toga, barely older than the main cast
>Not a fatality, but yeah, the guy got heavily injured Couldn't remember but yeah. There is a reason quirks require a license and training to use. And if people didn't have a sense of restraint when using their quirks people would definitely see fights escalate higher than what is currently presented on a civilian level.
Aiden Morris
>"yeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssss big daddy government!! Control me!!!!! so I can be worthless but comfortable enought by your standards"
you see that's why comunism is the easy way out, it's the equivalent of hifing in your mom's dress so that the bully doesn't pick on you. However with freedom comes struggle, hardships that can end the most feeble individuals, but these struggles create great men, heroes of legends and visionaries worthy of rememberance by those who only seek security. No man of valor is born from a comfy little cocoon.
So who's going to be the next new villain after memestro?

yes but the same laws that apply to the vilains to repress them from murdering are also keeping the average joe from defending himself from said vilains. The Lost Cause of the Confederacy narrative that has been pervasive in the American South for generations is proof that history isn't always written by the winners.
France litterally uses systems put in place by Napoleon Bonaparte and he's considered good by most french people. Also Japan romantized the shit out of Saigo rebelion and used it to create a bushido-like mindset for the army during WW2 after seeing how dangerous the loss of tradition can be for a country.
Hitler did laws against overworking people still used today. It means literally nothing, Napoleon is still saw as evil

thing is not everyone can just argue with someone having a different opinion, some don't like it and goes extremist, and next thing you know people die freedom is not valuable enough to allow that behavior to exist even if it's one in a million that goes extremist and hurts others
Isaiah Johnson
I think it was good ol' Teddy Roosevelt that said a thing along those lines : "be calm, talk smoothly but carry a big stick" plus what you said is litterally the reason why each individuals should be armed and ready to defend themselves and everyone they hold dear. sorry user but everyone isn't responsible for paying for someone else broken leg or educaton, you're responsible for your shit and only your shit, people can help each other voluntarily, but under socialism you're forcing everyone to take part in your charity or at least say that's what they are doing with the money you give them, then fuck off and let the next goverment deal with the missing funds, I can tell you this from a country that has been under socialism for 80 years and does't show any sign of changing

>How was Germany collapsing Oh user... I don't condone what Hitler did with the whole 'final solution' business, but if he didn't start that whole tirade, he'd probably be regarded as one of the most successful leaders in history. Also how and more importantly WHO defines what is "dangerous"? Radical islamist are easily agreed upon, but then do you stop there? are you shure the government will stop there? what if it start to deem dangerous anything that is not in its direct interest with no regard for morality? You are just justifying tyrany because you don't want to protect yourself, you want to live life in easy mode. You can't comprehend that great nations are made by great men not by great systems.
Finally a user who is not aggressive, I agree but you should remember no one wants money no ones want to be slaves to it. He have fixed the economy but money is the root of all evil and people get greedy and that was cause the inflation. As long there is money there's corruption.
>You'll need to protect yourself Does Garou actually expect a kid to be able to defend himself from two monsters both strong enough to kill a cities worth of people? That's as retarded as Deku charging a sludge mutant who is controlling his friend who has explosion powers while having no powers himself. Without Garou there to help him the kid wouldn't even make it 1 step before getting cut down, and in canon he made it maybe 20 before getting captured by a pile of mud.
What the fuck, are you underage? Oh man this is too funny.
Jonathan Bell
Yup money is what causes the 13% black population in America to commit 40% of all rapes. I forgot you get paid by the government per white woman raped.

money isn't evil, our natural instinct of hunter/gatherer makes us wanting to amass stuff, if not for money men would amass whatever they will find value in, money is litterally just a trade system. There is actual archeological evidence that war was a thing before money existed.

Robert Bennett
and when most don't want to and you're short on numbers for the ones that don't have anything?
Actually, the cause of the Weimar Republic's hyperinflation was the first World War and the Treay of Versailles. Greed had absolutely nothing to do with it
You see, the War cost Germany a lot. But that wasn't the issue. When it was over, the allies cut off ALL ports for import of precious resources like food, forcing Germany to sign the Treaty. The Treaty said Germany had to pay ALL damages caused to the allies within Europe effective immediately, which of course was fucking ridiculously expensive. Like I said before, this 'Treaty' was designed with the sole purpose of ensuring Germany wouldn't be able to stand on it's own for a long time. The importing and exporting prices also shot upwards. It's kind of hard to describe just how fucked the economy was. In October of 1923, one US dollar could net you over 1 TRILLION mark (German currency at the time)
Oliver Rodriguez

Cameron Nelson
>enternment camps O ok, I was right, you actually have never read a book on any of this in your life.

Given what we know of the power of All for One, that is HIS policy, put in place with HIS consent. He was a villain. He changed society for what he felt was the better. And now you're complaining about his actions?
Tsk tsk.

Hey retard, "defend yourself" doesn't necessarily mean running straight at the monsters with the intent of fighting them, it means "don't just stay there like a petrified faggot"
Thomas Miller
I am just curious
Kevin Cruz
>Hey retard, "defend yourself" doesn't necessarily mean running straight at the monsters Good thing I never implied the kid should actually charge the monsters, because that's as retarded as what Deku did. Maybe you should up your reading comprehension a bit before posting.

He's going to wind up being fodder this arc to feed Shiggy and it's a shame because you could build an entire story around the conflict between Destro's ideology and the world it exists in. Hori keeps doing this and it's frustrating
Henry Fisher
Read the bible its spiritual book not a boomer book, everyone has truths there is no lies, for everyone is one and the same but unique.

I wish every thread about My Hero Academia could be that entertaining
And don't forget, change the weather and make it rain with the force of that one punch.
CC and AM have different abilities. Comparing them doesn't really work well.
Jayden Green
Because he was wrong. He was right that his country was in shambles, and he did a damn good job in bringing it back from the brink. But his fault was pointing the finger. Everyone was to blame, but the public wouldn't accept that. The German people wanted a scapegoat and he gave it to them
The bigger man would forgive those responsible, recognize that he himself was also to blame, and focus on repairing the country as a united peoples. But he, and his advisers, were not bigger men
Jeremiah James
The flashback is confusing, as Deku is wearing the uniform from Toga's school, not his own. And there's no indication they had actually met before the Forest Training arc. The best we have been able to come up with is either the guy Toga sliced up, stuck a straw in, and reached orgasm by sucking his blood looked just like Deku, or she's imposed Deku's face on his in her memories.
We're not really happy with either explanation...
David Price
It's literally not Deku you speedreaders. It's just a random student from her school that was her first victim
Oliver Turner
>Because he was wrong. Sure if you want to be ignorant to the things they did which still have repercussions even today (frankfurt school for example) but whatever, this isn't the board for that.
Ryan Roberts
Why did Hori become so pretentious and edgy all of a sudden?
I agree. And not merely the conflict between Destro's view and Hero Society, but also Shiggy's "destroy everything until you can see the horizon free and clear" madness. Of course a philosophical battle would be a hard thing to sell in a superhero comic, unless done as part of a physical battle.
Robert Reed
>Commies >In fucking MHA threads Someone get the helicopters for fuck's sake
He's going through his late 90s comic collection. Probably Spawn and the Punisher comics at the moment.

the guy we see in her flashback isn't Deku but her first cruch whom she drank the blood of after murdering him. The ressemblance with Deku might be why she's so interested with Deku in the first place
David Gray
Vilains are supposed to be a little edgy aren't they? It's fun to read
Jack Morales
Um... No. Hori doesn't do dark.
