Lotgh, eva, jojo
goblin slayer, wrestler roaches from mars, any/all pedobait, idom@ster despite what you seem to think, prison school, sword art online, highschool DxD
rightists hate jojo because of how camp and homoerotic it is
Gatchaman crowds is good thought
Plenty of leftist like Eva, I know some irl. The fandom is also full of fujos who usually aren't right leaning.
Basically all of monogatari

How does Yea Forums do it? Even with all it's flaws it still manages to maintain a level of quality far above the other media boards.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes
>Boku no Hero Academia is liked exclusively by leftists
>Kill la Kill is liked exclusively by leftists
>fucking Idolmaster
>using fucking media instead of a person's action to determine their political compass
So did you miss the part where he said conservatism replaced progressiveness and then all the bad things happened
go on twitter and search up any of those shows and tell me they're not lib bait
That's because almost everyone on Twitter is a liberal, not because the shows attract liberals.
rightists are infamous for missing the point in all political fiction, all they see is cool people in uniform that get celebrated for going to war and die gloriously for the motherland
Macross
Dude go to Japan and tell me everyone who likes the Idolmaster is a liberal. Also
>conflating liberalism with leftism
yikes
>Lotgh
It's the ultimate zoyboy anime.
>IM@S
>Leftist
The modern left is against objetifying women. Therefore any Idoru anime goes against everything the modern left stand for.
That's because their ideology stems almost entirely from rationalizing things after the fact. "I liked X show" becomes "X show and its creators agree with me". This also makes any conversation with them pointless, as they'll just cartwheel anywhere that validates them.
Lookadem thick bitches mmmmm I want some MEAT
>the hundreds of millions of people on the left are all just SJWs
You can thank leftists for not living a feudal society.
die trannies
Hey can you stop being a SJW and bringing in politics into cartoons? Thanks.
When you speak of "leftist" and "rightist" views, you are clearly talking from an American prospective, quite different from most countries in the world.
Also BHA is so normalfag-friendly that I doubt your statement holds true even in the context of the USA.
kill me yourself, coward
>im@s
>leftist
I thought sjw hated idols because they objectify women and are aimed at men
>You know how some anime in particular are liked exclusively by leftists? What are some anime that are liked by right-ists?
'If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain.'
So pro-right stuff is limited. Anime tends to be about the liberal young with the authoritarian conservative old being the bad guys.
It is marketed at the liberal young.
In the late 90s early 00s there were plenty of anime which talked about "The downfall of morality in Japan" But usually this was the bad guys.
Then there is some Yukio Mishima worshiping stuff.
And after that for conservative love there is the Pro-police power "the Jews did it!" Angle Cop golden age anime (note: the "the Jews did it!" version is OOP so you will have to dig around to find it).
>Anime tends to be about the liberal young with the authoritarian conservative old being the bad guys
You seem to be very knowledgeable about the subject: care to bring us some example?
Some of those liberal youngsters that you speak of as protagonists? And those old bad guys?
I'm eager to learn.
Any anime where the team of young characters is off to save the world. If you want the young against the "The downfall of morality in Japan" old you have things like Gasaraki (first of the top of my head).
"The downfall of morality in Japan" tends to be a motivator in old bad guys not to mention why monsters attack. "If we would have had less sex that monster would not have attacked".. Well they do not say "sex" when they say "morality" maybe they mean ""porn" as Japan is the #1 producer in the world. with 25% of Japanese under 40 being a virgin it is probably not the sex.
In Metropolis the liberal young are under attack from the conservative old.
In Akira the liberal young are under attack from the conservative old.
When a young pilot gets in a mech odds are he/she is off to go fight some old authoritarian.
In fantasy when they pick up a sword or spell odds are they are off to fight the old rich authoritarian bad guys.
When Shin Chan "fights The Man" you even get this. Even if The Man are his parents/teachers.
In harem it is all upskirts and jiggle which do not have a leaning.
If you were going to make an anime with a teenage target audience (adult targeted stuff is pretty much dead) Would your young protagonist fight the power or would they sign on as henchman #1,976,234 with the old power?
Now there are lots of anime where the good guy and the bad guy are both young. These still have the good guy being out to change the world and the bad guy being for keeping the world as it is or go back to the old ways.
Anime where men are men.
That explains why Russia rightists love Communism so much while the rest of the world's rightists hate it
>Japan is the #1 producer in the world
Interesting, because I didn't know this; in my ignorance I believe the majority of pornographic content was born in the USA; clearly, you know better.
But, for example, one of the most influential anime of all time is Urusei Yatsura: what can we learn, in the context of this argument, from that work of narrative? I can hardly find a parallel between your words and UY.
If you search Boku no Hero on Twitter, you can see them still fuming over Hori hinting at Endeavor's redemption
Anime exclusively liked by the left = Utena, Studio Ghibli movies, Satoshi Kon movies, Princess Arete, Belladonna of Sadness, Mononoke, Miss Hokusai, Oniisama e, Twelve Kingdoms, Kemono no Souja Erin
Anime exclusively liked by the right = Shield Hero, isekai, harems
That's valid, but at the same time, at least for Love Live!, they like it because it has lots of interaction between female characters.
Pls leave IM@S and Gatchaman out of this, the other two I agree.
>What are some anime that are liked by right-ists?
Define a right-ist? Pro-government control? Consrvative? A literal nazi?
It's weird that far-right people have such a limited perspective on what anime should be. They see it as only escapism that should serve no other purpose than to titilate or comfort. And whenever an anime comes along that is challenging on any artistic level, they invariably dismiss it as "pretentious" regardless of its quality. They're the definition of anti-intellectual
>"If we would have had less sex that monster would not have attacked".. Well they do not say "sex" when they say "morality" maybe they mean ""porn"
They have a large story of natural disasters, earthquakes, tsunamis. Tokyo is a city that was designed to be easy to rebuild. Not to mention that two big things on their recent history involve giant monsters, both starting a revolution because they were visited by a massive British steam ship when they were still dicking around with swords, and receiving two nuclear weapons. Sex has nothing to do with their fascination for giant mosters.
>When a young pilot gets in a mech odds are he/she is off to go fight some old authoritarian
No, they fight monsters or terrorists like Dr Hell, and ussually the mechas are built by a large organization with a military hierarchy and the authoritarism that it entails.
>In fantasy when they pick up a sword or spell odds are they are off to fight the old rich authoritarian bad guys
No, they fight monsters, maybe there is an example of a fantasy anime where they rebel against the king, but it would be rare
>When Shin Chan "fights The Man" you even get this. Even if The Man are his parents/teachers
And the series is a comedy about how much Shin is a brat.
Must be fun livin' in America and having to choose among a plethora of mentally damaged prospective.
Retard left and right, also ultra-retard centrists.
>has more than zero black characters
>automatically becomes leftist
Are rightists aware that they're becoming a bigger meme than SJW?
>'If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain.'
Funny how quotes like these regularly lead down rabbit holes of "no one knows who said it".
>Anime is marketed at the liberal young because it portrays fighting against authoritarians
Except this is a trope as old as le 'benevolent ruler usurps the tyrant monarch' and is just a cliche to easily establish stakes and sympathy.
These are literally just all examples of tropes that have been around for thousands of years, many of which could play into conservative power fantasies of a glorious national founding. You can't conflate "MC wants to change the world" with conservative or liberal values since that's just the definition of Man vs Society conflict.
not the guy who posted it, but the fall of society as depicted there is mostly what's happening now as fought for by leftists:
>sliding into decadence caused by "muh individual freedom", people ruining their bodies, falling into hedonism
>science replacing religion, fundamental values start to resemble nihilism, life becomes less sacred
>with easy survival, and without a sense of purpose, boredom is likely to cause people acting out
>first line of the show is not all men are created equal
>eugenics is proven to work with Todoroki and Endeavor is later shown to be a true hero
>Todoroki also calls a mutant a dog and is never shown to be in the wrong
Plenty of righties like it
They always were. 10 years ago they were the boring old Christian hypocrites, now they're inbred "wahh media has to pander to me and me only"
>science replacing religion, fundamental values start to resemble nihilism, life becomes less sacred
That's religion's fault. If they haven't supported the old feudal system to the point of declaring it sacred, there wouldn't have been a need to knock down religion when the burgueoise got tired of being step on the head by useless aristocrats
>with easy survival, and without a sense of purpose, boredom is likely to cause people acting out
That's on science, not politics
This thread just reeks of american, most sane people can enjoy anime regardless of whatever what politics they align with.
>life becomes less sacred
Considering how brutal medieval warfare was, and how they would start fighting for petty shit and ussually with the blessing of the church, I don't know what are you talking about
Then line up against the wall.
>10 years ago they were the boring old Christian hypocrites
That kinda made sense for me because they were mostly old, but seeing people younger than me getting all defensive because a female character said more than 2 lines feels so surreal.
Who cares what wingcucks think
i didn't ask for "conservative" animes i asked for animes that /pol/ would watch they don't have to be political
can't believe i'm politics-posting on Yea Forums, this is fun
>That's religion's fault.
so it's religion's fault that its replacement doesn't provide young men and women with guidance on ideals to strive for, roles to fulfill, any idea at all of how or *why* to live their lives?
while technically it is, and it really should be, science isn't fully separate from politic anymore. besides, politics can certainly play a role in dictating moral attitudes in a country.
that's fair i guess, but at least they weren't actively advocating for killing babies
But they aren't complaining about stuff like that, you are just making it up. But they are really stupid though.
You have an incredibly poor understanding of leftists if you think SJWs compromise anywhere near a representative sample of leftists and an incredibly poor understanding of that LoGH screenshot if you things like think "science replacing religion" have anything to do with what that's saying.
That was a good day
I think you're looking a bit too deep into things user
KlK is not liked exclusively by leftists
ITT: Americans thinking the progressive movements existining in their country are "leftist".
You don't know what the left truly is.
okay sure, far-leftists then. I do realize the vast majority of people is on much saner parts of the spectrum, and doesn't really care to step further out. but, the overton window will move one way or the other.
>an incredibly poor understanding of that LoGH screenshot
I meant to call out the symptoms showcased there, and explain some of it through religion->science
/thread
Americans don't know shit about politics
I'm going to venture a guess that our colleges had completely different film analysis classes and that our anime collections are not of similar size.
In my college looking at FLCL, Spotting the Christ figure is too easy. The Vespa represents the passage of time. The Rickenbacker represents puberty, Haruko represents hormones, blah blah blah. In the end one of the greatest coming of age pieces around. (Much more fun to pull apart than Apocalypse Now)
Did your class analyse it as "trippy"?
>Funny how quotes like these regularly lead down rabbit holes of "no one knows who said it".
Great quotes are great quotes. Everyone wants their name next to one. Not having a name doesn't invalidate the quote.
True
the joke is that it's a white mom with a black baby you complete fucking retard
Virtually all anime is right wing, anyone who enjoys anime and is more left than center-left has some pretty serious cognitive dissonance going on.
Stop inserting your retarded politics into entertainment. You can keep these two interests completely separated.
And then there's this retard.
Russia's "communism" is mostly identified with Stalin, who was:
- incredibly socially conservative (he is often called by Russia's liberals "red Hitler") to the point that gays were strongly persecuted by the state and society was encouraged to find them revolting;
- highly militaristic, authoritarian and a war-time national leader who eschewed egalitarianism for hierarchy - a right-wing ontological principle that sets the right and left apart
- an actual Russian nationalist, despite being a Georgian, he refused to speak Georgian, resented many Caucasians (ethnic non-Slavs in the Caucasus mountains) who collaborated with the Germans and ordered their systematic "punishment." which by design inflicted huge losses of life on them, and moreover, literally called out the Russian nation specifically on defeating the Germans (read here: ru.wikipedia.org
That last wikipedia article presents both the newspaper report (printed once, highly edited to omit the overt Russian nationalism, and never again) and the stenography, which is likely toned down from the original. The speech essentially lauds the ethnic Russians for continuing to fight for the USSR instead of turning their backs on the Soviet government.
Stalin gave Russian nationalists a lot of reasons to like him. His rating has been rising year-on-year for basically the entire last decade, too. Really should make you think.
>white
"Subversive" and "intellectual aren't the same thing, except in the West. What a pathetic state of national "culture."
Left and right should only refer to economics desu
"Sanctity of life" and "legitimate use of force" are different things, user. Don't pretend to be retarded on the internet.
>exclusively by leftists? What are some anime that are liked by right-ists?
No anime is exclusively liked by a certain political leaning group simply because the casual anime watcher doesn't care about that shit. You put Boku no Hero there, but aside from a relatively small group of vocal sjw most people don't really give a shit if the female characters dress skimpily or if Endeavor gets a redemption arc. Same goes for right wing, sure some people will complain that Goblin Slayer or Shield Hero (to name two recent examples) are only liked by mysoginistic right leaning people, but the truth is that if they were two of the most popular anime of each season then probably the viewerbase is much more diverse than some people want to think.
You could argue that some anime are more left or right leaning than others (like nobody can deny than an Ikuhara work will be more more positioned on the left than said Gate), but I doubt there's a single anime that's "exclusively" enjoyed by leftist and one that is only liked by the right.
>so it's religion's fault that its replacement doesn't provide young men and women with guidance on ideals to strive for, roles to fulfill, any idea at all of how or *why* to live their lives?
Damn you're an idiot. Do you really think atheists have no sense of purpose to their lives? Do you really think concepts like socialism that literally lay out a directions and roles for people to further the cause don't give people reasons to live, to fight to live in a world where such policies are enacted?
>while technically it is, and it really should be, science isn't fully separate from politic anymore.
The only reason you think this is just literal facts have become politicized by corporate powers to protect their interests. Actually addressing global warming would means a rise in costs of production, so you've been sold the line that it's a hoax, despite it being scientific consensus for more than 50 years before it got politicized.
>politics can certainly play a role in dictating moral attitudes in a country.
ESL. He wasn't saying that.
>they weren't actively advocating for killing babies
Holy shit this is dumb. If you really believe life is sacred, you would support socialistic concepts like welfare and public programs that would actually help the child grow up with a better life AND reduce abortions because people are less likely to go "well shit, I don't have the means or time to support a child".
>reddit spacing
You're right, they're not the same thing. There are plenty of "subversive" things that are incredibly shallow and unchallenging, like Re:Zero. But I didn't say that something had to be subversive to be intellectual, did I? When I say something is "challenging", it simply means that it requires the audience to put more effort into their engagement with it.
If it pushes for some kind of egalitarianism, equality, equity, and whatever other names you come up with that represent ontologically liberal worldviews, it's lefitst. To dumb it down for you, these things are anti-hierarchy.
Even libertarians are fundamentally leftist, theyr'e just a very antiquated kind of leftist. They resent authority and hierarchy over themselves (Tea Party and whatnot) and believe in equality that amounts simply to universal property rights. But it's still anti-hierarchy, and comes from a place of egalitarianism.
Most leftist don't read political philosophy of any kind, though, or they'd eventually stumble across de Jouvenel and become absolutists. The left is driven by self-righteousness alone.
Cancer thread.
No, far-left doesn't mean SJW either. Far-left includes things like anarcho-communism and revolutionary militia. Most SJWs don't know what these things are and don't buy firearms to overthrow the state.
>has some pretty serious cognitive dissonance going on
The irony of this is hilarious
>What are some anime that are liked by right-ists?
There isn't an anime they like, right wing people are mature and would rather go and save their country than stay home watching chink cartoons.
he's probably one of those retards that thinks capitalism -> right wing and socialism ->left wing. Nothing else matters.
This guy gets it I'd also add BTOOM, Gate, this one anime with the salaryman reincarnated in a german loli, Shield Hero, Dies Irae.
user your facebook likes on non political stuff can reveal your political alignement with frightening accuracy. Thinking that taste in anime is any different is delusional. What you watch is what you are.
In my experience, I've seen right wing guys enjoying Hokuto No Ken, GITS, and Onizuka
I was implying that the right is basically anti-subversion, not anti-intellectualism, as you claimed. Granted, parts of the right are the latter, but it's not especially characteristic of the right proper.
>When I say something is "challenging", it simply means that it requires the audience to put more effort into their engagement with it.
Many shows are praised for simply offering a challenge to established conventions, despite doing so lazily and conventionally. Unfortunately, many examples of this are literal memes like ANN, so. I'd offer a counterperspective that the right is more keen on viewing entertainment as escapism than as normative judgement on how the world should be, which is part of the animus the left has against "right wing" shows, where simply featuring an element they find umbrage with is an explicit attack on their worldview.
I can't believe I actually used to think like this
>In my college looking at FLCL, Spotting the Christ figure is too easy. The Vespa represents the passage of time. The Rickenbacker represents puberty, Haruko represents hormones, blah blah blah. In the end one of the greatest coming of age pieces around. (Much more fun to pull apart than Apocalypse Now)
Jesus Christ, what? How does this have anything to do with anything? FLCL having Canti as a Christ symbol FOR Mamimi as part of her character arc of being disillusioned with Naota's brother is not even close to you interpreting every "Man vs Society" conflict as liberal propaganda.
>Great quotes are great quotes. Everyone wants their name next to one. Not having a name doesn't invalidate the quote.
The quote isn't great. It offers no actual justification and only serves to validate the choir.
>white mom
Oh I am laffing
>Shield Hero
Doesn't that anime revolves around racism, with the demi-humans being unjusly discriminated or something? Do people think that it's right wing just because of the villainess and false rape claim?
>If you really believe life is sacred, you would support socialistic concepts like welfare and public programs that would actually help the child grow up with a better life
Cue the countless parents who were more concerned with their kids being happy than growing up to be responsible, creating a veritable pandemc of victim-complex, perpetually-outraged, screeching technicolor-haired harpies and "allies."
How about worrying about a sustainable future, instead of just feeling good? If you don't give people a reason to be useful to society, they'll just fuck off and do whatever, and the society that gave them handouts will successfully lop its own hands off.
You might want to take your own advice and stop pretending medieval warfare was just two sides.
>Jesus Christ, what? How does this have anything to do with anything? FLCL having Canti as a Christ symbol FOR Mamimi as part of her character arc of being disillusioned with Naota's brother is not even close to you interpreting every "Man vs Society" conflict as liberal propaganda.
Somebody give this guy an Olympic gold medal for mental gymnastics.
>validate the choir
And the choir's right.
And? Different Churches in Europe at different times condoned or condemned wars, for various reasons. If you want your sweeping generalization to stick, you'll have to try a bit harder than that.
>user your facebook likes on non political stuff can reveal your political alignement with frightening accuracy. Thinking that taste in anime is any different is delusional. What you watch is what you are.
user you could go to Japan or any other website but Twitter and realize those anime are liked by more than just one group of people.
>If you don't give people a reason to be useful to society
Are you a quaker or something? As a fedora coming from a traditionally catholic country you sound pretty brainwashed.
Politics aren't as white and black as you seem to think, when it comes to japanese cartoons most people don't really judge them based on politics but on the entertainment they provide because the average animefag doesn't have a major in english.
There would be better discussion and less shitflinging if the thread were actually about what anime are more left or right leaning than others.
>Somebody give this guy an Olympic gold medal for mental gymnastics.
For a common interpretation of FLCL? For basic definition of conflict that have been defined since ancient Greece?
>And the choir's right.
Whether or not they're right is outside the point that the quote is retarded and pointless.
I'm not any of those things, but I'm glad you've gone for the low-hanging fruit strategy of "let's call him names and see what sticks." You do realize you don't need to be any kind of capitalist to realize that the profit motive exists, right?
I'm not , retard.
>there would be better discussion and less shitflinging if the thread were actually about what anime are more left or right leaning than others
That's what I was hoping the discussion would digress towards when I clicked the thread.
>Thinking that taste in anime is any different is delusional. What you watch is what you are
A lot of those anime were popular as fuck during their time, or do you truly believe that virtually everyone who watched Goblin Slayer was right leaning?
Great thread user
Are Lolis left or right wing?
For me it's fiscal conservative or classical liberal.
Of course not, but I fail to see what this has to do with the matter at hand. The demonstration that individual profit doesn't serve society at large has perhaps never been more obvious.
>Cue the countless parents who were more concerned with their kids being happy than growing up to be responsible, creating a veritable pandemc of victim-complex, perpetually-outraged, screeching technicolor-haired harpies and "allies."
Those kids were born into middle-class families, not violent ghettos that need welfare and state interference you dumbass.
>How about worrying about a sustainable future, instead of just feeling good? If you don't give people a reason to be useful to society, they'll just fuck off and do whatever, and the society that gave them handouts will successfully lop its own hands off.
Did you not read the rest of the post?
>Do you really think concepts like socialism that literally lay out a directions and roles for people to further the cause don't give people reasons to live, to fight to live in a world where such policies are enacted?
Loli Love is Like Liquid, it Lingers.
This argument that people wouldn't do anything without the promise of potential economic superiority speaks volumes about how you perceive yourself and your fellow man. Capitalism has conditioned us to believe that there is no point to anything if it doesn't benefit us monetarily.
It's the same argument as "without a God to believe in, everyone would become immoral sociopaths since there'd be no reason or reward for being good". It's fallacious, because people aren't inherently lazy or irresponsible. We've just become that way.
observe
They're neither.
Try harder.
>not violent ghettos that need welfare and state interference you dumbass
And those ghettos are voting for gibs very consistently.
>Did you not read the rest of the post?
If you want to give them fish without teaching them to fish, you're a retard. A full belly won't make a man into a fisherman, and you're only trying to feed them, instead of making them able to avoid being hungry.
I've never said this to anyone before, but you can fuck off back to /pol/. Anime is for entertainment, not defining your or anyone else's political alignments. Keep the perpetual war between SJWs and anti-SJWs out of my last safe hobby
>It's the same argument as "without a God to believe in, everyone would become immoral sociopaths since there'd be no reason or reward for being good". It's fallacious, because people aren't inherently lazy or irresponsible. We've just become that way.
Yeah, the guy two posts before in the conversation was making this his argument lol.
>he thinks anime is safe
Watch this 9!
>It's fallacious, because people aren't inherently lazy or irresponsible. We've just become that way.
Ironically, this is a fallacious belief backed by nothing except wishful thinking.
>It's the same argument as "without a God to believe in, everyone would become immoral sociopaths since there'd be no reason or reward for being good".
Coincidentally, are you capable of articulating cogent argument for moral realism without also defending theism?
>Capitalism has conditioned us to believe that there is no point to anything if it doesn't benefit us monetarily.
The blame doesn't rest solely with capitalism, but to the extent that it does, yes.
>people wouldn't do anything without the promise of potential economic superiority
The profit motive is one of many, user.
How about teaching them to fish without requiring exorbitant amounts of money to pay for said fishing lessons? That's the real problem here, is that the system does not give everyone the equal opportunities and tools to achieve the same success, and actively punishes them for it.
Very nice.
>he thinks the Nips give a damn about Euro-American political shitflinging
The left doesn't like anime, it's just another political battleground for them and they identify it as alt-right territory. They want to take control of the industry and neutralize it. They've openly admitted this.
Leaving aside the presumption that everyone deserves equal opportunities, are you giving out economics & finance lessons in Compton? Or are you complaining that someone else/"the capitalists" aren't doing it for you? The real issue is that you aren't giving anyone a reason to do what you want done, which has only 2 solutions: turn the able into the willing by giving them such reasons, or do it yourself. Personally, I don't mind if you want to spread economic literacy.
GAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
this is the only reason I'm here instead of Yea Forums
also this
Go look at Sony and see what happened to them. No reason why it can't eventually happen to anime too. The Olympics are gonna be crazy.
What's your favourite anime, user?
No, but I do believe the percentage of rightists among its audience was higher than that of the average anime audience. hit the nail on the head
> when it comes to japanese cartoons most people don't really judge them based on politics but on the entertainment they provide because the average animefag doesn't have a major in english
But that doesn't mean natural inclinations don't make themselves known and can't be categorized by a thorough study of trends. Have you never heard of Bourdieu's social space? See pic related.
You only need to drop by a thread to get an idea of what kind of people are watching it. The fujoshow of the season will always have far more leftists in its threads than the average Goblin Slayer clone for instance.
>And those ghettos are voting for gibs very consistently.
They vote for representative who campaigned on larger social programs that never actually materialize to their full extent while also making basic policy mistakes like a family immediately losing all benefits once they pass the threshold a family becomes eligible to receive. Assistance has gone from 68% of poor families 20 years ago to 23% now. Nice job backpedaling from though
>victim-complex, perpetually-outraged, screeching technicolor-haired harpies and "allies."
>If you want to give them fish without teaching them to fish, you're a retard. A full belly won't make a man into a fisherman, and you're only trying to feed them, instead of making them able to avoid being hungry.
Social programs include education you fucking retard. Stop using analogies that betray how little you actually understand leftism.
you can learn to fish on the internet and all these "people" have phones, stop making excuses
If you stopped being literal SJWs but for the other side, maybe you'd realize you're part of the problem.
Hey user
>Keep the perpetual war between SJWs and anti-SJWs out of my last safe hobby
Don't delude yourself, using the word SJW means you have taken a side here.
And if nobody ever used stuff for purposes other than what it was made for we'd probably still be monkey in caves so you can fuck right off.
To the glue factory!
Why is this girl so smug. I wanna punch her in her dumb face and break her finger.
user fails to realize he's not in a duel, and more than one person is allowed to disagree with him.
>Social programs include education you fucking retard
Education and welfare are not one and the same. Or are you going to pretend that by "welfare" you meant "education" all along?
>They vote for representative who campaigned on larger social programs that never actually materialize to their full extent while also making basic policy mistakes like a family immediately losing all benefits once they pass the threshold a family becomes eligible to receive. Assistance has gone from 68% of poor families 20 years ago to 23% now.
If low-income families had enough economic literacy to vote as you described, they wouldn't be low-income families. Your argument falls flat on its face by being inapplicable to begin with.
Tonakai-san, stop!
>Ironically, this is a fallacious belief backed by nothing except wishful thinking.
No, it's a belief that has been demonstrated through successful social programs like in modern Nordic countries and FDR. Hell, part of the reason Nazi Germany managed to get together a its economy after the Weimar Republic was because of large social programs (which were already planned during the late Weimar era and sabotaged by Nazis then, but I digress) and it was only after they went full retard and started rounding up people they didn't like for slave labor to prop up the economy that their economy feel down the shitter.
>Coincidentally, are you capable of articulating cogent argument for moral realism without also defending theism?
Are you incapable of distinguishing moral objectivity with the self-awareness to realize that though there may not be an objective moral standard you can still follow a personal morality?

I'm not on any "side" retard, except maybe the group that prefers entertainment media entertains. You're just pissed that someone who disagrees with you about shit ONLINE may, in fact, share a few of your hobbies
watch out behind you!
Nice dubs. "People aren't lazy or irresponsible" is just blank slatism, and you should realize what the fallacy in that is. People aren't separable from their environment, which means that if you coddle them, they will indeed be lazy and irresponsible. In fact, all people, and all animals, will consistently take the route of least resistance to what they find desirable. You can get mad all you like, though.
> part of the reason Nazi Germany managed to get together a its economy after the Weimar Republic was because of large social programs
Social programs run by an extremely authoritarian state, not by a "collective of individuals."
>it was only after they went full retard and started rounding up people they didn't like for slave labor to prop up the economy that their economy feel down the shitter.
Their economy fell to shit because of mobilization pressures and bombings, hardly because they propped up their wartime production with forced/slave labor. That was just a symptom of bigger problems, but not any kind of cause.
>Are you incapable of distinguishing moral objectivity with the self-awareness to realize that though there may not be an objective moral standard you can still follow a personal morality?
>moral objectivity
>there may not be an objective moral standard
user, "moral realism" as a view literally means "morality is objectively real." You can try to formulate an objective morality that doesn't defer to divinity, and I'll gladly watch you try.
SAME!
>Education and welfare are not one and the same. Or are you going to pretend that by "welfare" you meant "education" all along?
See >violent ghettos that need welfare and state interference
And yes, welfare is not just giving money. One of the earliest full welfare states was Bismark's introduction of social security programs in Germany with the Sozialgesetzbuch that included things like health insurance, child support, and public employment agencies, and yes, education benefits for the unemployed.
>If low-income families had enough economic literacy to vote as you described, they wouldn't be low-income families. Your argument falls flat on its face by being inapplicable to begin with.
What? They literally vote in people who just don't pull through with their promises. They can't do anything about that.
>Flash is dying
>Flash culture is dead
>Nobody is preserving and making a new way to view old flash files
Anime is antithetical to western style censorchip in nature. Something neither of those overbearing, authoritarian movements like. Leftists and rightists in the U.S. both hate it, outiside fringe groups and the occasional normalfag shit that is "safe" for american viewers.
Time to download those files. Maybe time to trace them too, or find a new file type with such easy implementation.
What do I know anyway?
>And yes, welfare is not just giving money. One of the earliest full welfare states was Bismark's introduction of social security programs in Germany with the Sozialgesetzbuch that included things like health insurance, child support, and public employment agencies, and yes, education benefits for the unemployed.
That's cute. Almost as if welfare for ghettos has never been tried, so we're just waiting on it to start so we can see the miraculous results of pretending the average impoverished American is a 19th century German. Oh wait. Fuck.
>What? They literally vote in people who just don't pull through with their promises. They can't do anything about that.
You're deflecting the problem that the povertous are in poverty for a reason, rather than by fiat, at democracy's failings. Obviously it's a broken system that doesn't consistently give agency to the voter (the lowest-hanging fruit here is populism, but gerrymandering and assorted trickery are equally valid and highly numerous), but that doesn't negate the actual shortcomings of the people in poverty. Go ahead and try to level these if you like, but it won't change the reality that education and handouts can only do so much. Eventually, the resources you expend on welfare will run dry and you'll need to get more from elsewhere. Such as people that don't need the welfare. Then you foment ressentiment, then you get populism, then your "socially just" system begins growing massively unpopular - specifically amongst people that pay for it and don't benefit from it. Happened to the Warsaw Pact in the 1980s, is happening to the West now.
Around and around!
>Social programs run by an extremely authoritarian state, not by a "collective of individuals."
And? Who runs the programs has no basis on their effectiveness, nice that you skipped out FDR and modern Nordic countries btw.
>user, "moral realism" as a view literally means "morality is objectively real." You can try to formulate an objective morality that doesn't defer to divinity, and I'll gladly watch you try.
user, a person literally doesn't need to believe their morality is objective to follow it regardless. was pointing out how framing "'everyone would become immoral sociopaths' without God" as having to do with moral realism is disingenuous.

No I just think you're an idiot. I'm not that petty, otherwise I wouldn't post here.
>Who runs the programs has no basis on their effectiveness
Nice dodge, but no. You cited social programs, which are centrally organized and ordained (including the FDR and the Nordics) as proof that the people subjected to them are responsible and productive. That's a blatant non sequitur. You have still failed to disprove that "people aren't inherently lazy or irresponsible. We've just become that way." is just your personal fantasy.
>, a person literally doesn't need to believe their morality is objective to follow it regardless
Which means it's unfounded and they're ignorant. You're literally trying to argue that because someone somewhere is being dumb, there's literally no conceivable problem with it. Which, again, is hilariously fallacious.
As for disingenuity, you missed the implication that the straw man you put up in
>"'everyone would become immoral sociopaths' without God
Is validated by moral relativism being the logical prelude to nihilism and amorality. "How?" By constructing a self -serving morality that is validated by how useful it is. Calling this out is in no way disingenuous.
Kaban.

How happi are you right now?
>if you don't believe your morality is objective that means that morality is unfounded and whoever is upholding it is ignorant
That or, you know, some people are just being humble, accept morality is cultural, and don't presume to detain the absolute truth like Isis spergs and school shooters?
Ryuko was not a good main character story wise. A decent character though.
Morality can be different amongst several people, who nevertheless hold it to be objectively correct, rather than a subjective opinion. They can all agree that morality is objectively real without agreeing on what exactly it entails. Good try, but "humility"=/=moral subjectivism.
Stop right there.
ENTAH ENTAH
>That's cute. Almost as if welfare for ghettos has never been tried, so we're just waiting on it to start so we can see the miraculous results of pretending the average impoverished American is a 19th century German.
1) Bismark's policies continued into the 20th century.
2) Bismark was brought up as a response to the assertion that welfare did not include education, in order to provide a precedent on which components of welfare are defined.
3) Please use examples from 19th century Germany rather than a blanket "it's the past" to demonstrate how the situations are/are not comparable.
4) If you want another comparison, we can use the Gilded Age or the Great Depression.
No, I implied the problem had to do with the actual enactment of policies failing in ambition and competence. Democracy in the republic sense doesn't matter if the elected can't fulfill their promises or if the policies have no proofreaders.
>Happened to the Warsaw Pact in the 1980s, is happening to the West now.
The Warsaw Pact failed because it was a military alliance whereby the USSR wasted soldiers and resources in an ungodly number of satellite states to make sure they weren't any kind of possible threat, not because the USSR gave nations assistance in and of itself.

>Please use examples from 19th century Germany
You were the one to assert comparability between 19th century Bismarck Germany and present day America, but for the sake of being charitable, most Americans receiving welfare are not White German Protestants brought up in the culture of 1800s Germany and its institutions as well as cultural values and codes of work ethic, responsibility, duty and worldview. I'm sure that's constitutes "different enough" from the modern Ameeican ghetto which we began with.
> if the elected can't fulfill their promises or if the policies have no proofreaders.
Has it occurred to you that this is by design rather than, once again, by some mysterious fiat? Democracy is borked, what else is new.
>, I implied the problem had to do with the actual enactment of policies failing in ambition and competence
That is both true and irrelevant, as that is not the entirety of the problem, which was my response: the circumstances of the povertous are also created by them. Don't excuse them just because you want to baby them. It takes two to tango, and a family in poverty is improbable to be there through no faults of it's own members.
>The Warsaw Pact failed because it was a military alliance whereby the USSR wasted soldiers and resources in an ungodly number of satellite states to make sure they weren't any kind of possible threat, not because the USSR gave nations assistance in and of itself.
Not even close. The hole-in-the-flag revolutions were only able to occur because of how strongly the communist governments were resented. Same with Russia. Literally the only SSR that didn't collapse was the Belarussian one, which was also the one that received more from the union that it gave to it, as it was always a subsidiary. In point of fact, in 2015 Belarus' GDP grew to 200% of its 1990 value, almost entirely on Russian state investments and orders for Belarussian industry. The USSR collapsed because it's people let it.
>You cited social programs, which are centrally organized and ordained (including the FDR and the Nordics) as proof that the people subjected to them are responsible and productive. That's a blatant non sequitur.
Yes, I cited them because they successfully improved their respective states. The people subjected to them ARE responsible and productive. I have no idea why you are describing it as an non-sequitur. It seems you've interpreted "people aren't inherently lazy or irresponsible. We've just become that way." as meaning "people are inherently productive and responsible" when "We've just become that way" would imply the point is that people are neither.
>Which means it's unfounded and they're ignorant. You're literally trying to argue that because someone somewhere is being dumb, there's literally no conceivable problem with it. Which, again, is hilariously fallacious.
Not believing morality is objective has no bearing on whether a person is able to justify it or not, and in fact implies an open-mindedness to self-reflect on your decisions.
>moral relativism being the logical prelude to nihilism and amorality
Not only is this ridiculous but nihilism and amorality are much broader classes of philosophies than you seem to realize.
A hambaga a day keeps the pills away
America is the #1 producer of porn, you’re 100% wrong on that
>Good try, but "humility"=/=moral subjectivism.
I fail to see how. Promoting your personal views on various values to the status of objective truth is at best what a moron would do, at worst a religious fanatic. It takes intellectual humbleness to aknowledge you don't know the truth.
Morality is in the end is but an ensemble of opinions about things, values, social space. They might as well be opinions about colors or waifus. "I like red." "Your waifu is shit". "I'd rather a woman gives birth against her will than deny a bunch of cells the opportunity to grow into a miserable kid". Okay. There is no objective truth to be found here.
>They can all agree that morality is objectively real without agreeing on what exactly it entails
Morality is literally an idea, it's not real. It exists, but it's not real.
They can also realize moral relativism while justifying their own conception of morality it on the grounds of interpretative function rather than objectivity.

>The people subjected to them ARE responsible and productive. I have no idea why you are describing it as an non-sequitur.
The irony is that you claimed they were made lazy and unproductive despite not being so, but your social programs literally illustrate that they weren't and it took centrally organized initiatives to fashion them into such, when they weren't.
>Not believing morality is objective has no bearing on whether a person is able to justify it or not, and in fact implies an open-mindedness to self-reflect on your decisions
>has no bearing
You claim that and support it with nothing.
>in fact implies
No, it really doesn't. But, again, you just threw that out there pretending that a claim is an argument. It isn't. So present one, since it's already clear where you stand, not why.
>Not only is this ridiculous but nihilism and amorality are much broader classes of philosophies than you seem to realize.
Congratulations on failing to demonstrate any understanding of what they are. Are you going to make another post saying "nu uh, you're wrong!", or do you have something to say?
Reimu!
Long serval!
But are they right?
>I fail to see how.
Plainly put, you're trying to equivocate moral pluralism with moral subjectivism. This would be a valid operation from the POV of a single agent, but if you imagine multiple agents at once, their group presents moral pluralism emergently without demonstrating moral subjectivism in any of them.
>Morality is in the end is but an ensemble of opinions about things, values, social space
I understand that you hold moral subjectivism to be true, but that basically means you think morality is just an opinion. That's fine, but I disagree. Moreover, the reasons for which I disagree are the reasons for which you agree, so there's an intractable difference of opinion because we're coming at this from epistemologically different worldviews. There isn't any point in discussing it due to this, so we'll basically have to mutually agree that the other guy is wrong.
>You were the one to assert comparability between 19th century Bismarck Germany and present day America
No, see >2) Bismark was brought up as a response to the assertion that welfare did not include education, in order to provide a precedent on which components of welfare are defined.
>most Americans receiving welfare are not White German Protestants brought up in the culture of 1800s Germany and its institutions as well as cultural values and codes of work ethic, responsibility, duty and worldview.
What specific "cultural values and codes of work ethic, responsibility, duty and worldview" did 1869 Germany have that differed from the same values of Americans receiving welfare today?
>the circumstances of the povertous are also created by them. Don't excuse them just because you want to baby them. It takes two to tango, and a family in poverty is improbable to be there through no faults of it's own members.

And? The USSR didn't collapse because it gave nations assistance in and of itself, what is this supposed to be responding to?
>But are they right?
They would consider this question irrelevant and subjective.
>That's fine, but I disagree.
So you had nothing to argue.

Mods are too busy deleting threads with edition in the OP.
I do see that you chose to interpret welfare as including education. I thought we were past that already, since there's nothing to say other than "ah, so you do claim that education is welfare."
What specific "cultural values and codes of work ethic, responsibility, duty and worldview" did 1869 Germany have that differed from the same values of Americans receiving welfare today?
You're claiming that a national culture can be summed up in a few words, and without missing any nuance. The visual and musical arts alone being so different than than in modern America demonstrates that the people were possessed of different cultures, and there is plenty of such evidence. However, these works and their measurements rings are not able to be encapsulated in a shitpost on Yea Forums, nor did anyone byt you claim that they could be so summed up. I've shown that the cultures are different by their products being different, unless you cant see the difference between Wagner and Drake.
>Use examples (and I don't mean anecdotes) like I did with specific policy mistakes.
High time preference, low impulse control (MAOA-L genes among other things), vulnerability to substance addiction (epigenetical alcoholism proclivity), and so on. Objective and not able to be solved by social programs. Eugenics could, but something tells me you don't like those.
>And? The USSR didn't collapse because it gave nations assistance
And, the USSR was allowed to collapse because nobody was willing to fight or endure hardship to keep it together. Unlike Russia in 2014, which got hit with way worse economically, and it's real household income based been dropping year on year nonstop, but there are still neither revolts, nor coups, nor any kind of Belovezh agreements, despite the people being forced to foot the bill of the sanctions' economic damage. Nations need the implicit approval of the rules to exist. That's called legitimacy. You redistribute wealth for long enough, you create unrest.

To me, moral pluralism just means "differences in moral worldviews are real", which is mostly self-evident, but it's a useful concept to articulate in discussion. I'm glad we had this talk user, have a good one.

>The irony is that you claimed they were made lazy and unproductive despite not being so, but your social programs literally illustrate that they weren't and it took centrally organized initiatives to fashion them into such, when they weren't.
See again.
>It seems you've interpreted "people aren't inherently lazy or irresponsible. We've just become that way." as meaning "people are inherently productive and responsible" when "We've just become that way" would imply the point is that people are neither.
The point is that people are not inherently lazy and unproductive and that their lived state is shaped by outside factors. You are so close to understanding this.
>Not believing morality is objective has no bearing on whether a person is able to justify it or not.
This is supported by basic Alasdair MacIntyre. Next.
>Congratulations on failing to demonstrate any understanding of what they are. Are you going to make another post saying "nu uh, you're wrong!", or do you have something to say?
You seem to believe that nihilism is predicated on some supposition of "giving up" when recognition of objective meaninglessness does not map to discardment of subjective meaning. You also seem to believe amorality is distinct from observance of function, which in practice from the point of view of a third-party consciousness is indistinguishable from a system of morality.

Maybe instead of bumping threads you should let people self-moderate them then.
>using styles of art to extrapolate into specific cultural variables that would affect cultural receptiveness to welfare
>not explaining how these imply behaviors that would specifically result in better or worse use of welfare
>Not realizing deficiencies in MAOA genes also correlate to higher levels of aggression in males, as in a Dutch family

nyaderful!
Both left wing and right wing hated Loli, but the one who express the most hatred are also the one that love 3DPD the most.
>brings up point

this desu
The expansion of political enfranchisement and autonomy of groups like the Germans played a part in the downfall of Rome, which caused feudalism in the first place. Thus, you can only claim that “leftists” have, over multiple centuries, solved glaring issues they themselves created, which isn’t much of a selling point if you ask me.
>expecting an academic essay in a spammed thread
So no argument? I'm not even him but you basically expecting to be right without proving anything
>point
>(parenthesis)
>"That response to a statement made outside the parenthesis responds to the parenthesis"
>>"everybody who disagrees with me is the same guy"
Based proletariat Germans, Rome sucked dick
what
even if you're not the same guy it doesn't disprove my point, if his answer is "I won't explain" he doesn't have an argument
The points in were the behaviors, the genes were an aside marked in parenthesis. The genes angle got responded to in the third line of , while the response to the behaviors themselves is the fourth line.
Pretty sure everybody left except us
And imageposter user
>>>"everybody who disagrees with me is the same guy"
that's surely true
I mean, how successful was the therapy at all if the MAOA-L thing is "they cant process dopamine" or serotonin or whatever
Anything that exists solely to distract the populous from their shitty working lives.
So basically Isekai anime.
No shit Sherlock. I'm talking in terms of probabilities and relative values. Not black and white sentences.
Thinking you're a leftist because you liked a page about brocolis is absurd.
Thinking you're a leftist because you liked pages about brocolis, Yuri on Ice, compost techniques, vegan recipes, local exhibition vernissages, and the best techniques to dye your hair blue are reasonable assumptions.
Also, I think the point was something like "people are born fucked up and sho ga nai" which is a good point desu
Thats was americans just taking over sony.
Before this thread goes to total shit and gets pruned, lets have a survey.

pagang?
What's the difference between Fedora and none?
Also thanks, I vomitted a little in my mouth picking my "political alignement". Jesus Christ, fucking americans. Guess I should be glad there were 4 choices, there could have been two.
Why do rightists have such shit taste?
lul, but remember to sage
I just went with the political compass for the political alignment, since that's pretty popular right now. I don't really know much about politics. If you want to make a better poll, be my guest. As for the religion poll, "none" refers to agnostics and "not religious" people in general, not outright atheists. I guess I should've made that a bit more explicit.
Stop talking about your dumb shit politics

All of the above are broccoli
To oversimplify it a bit, Crowds was in general about the dangers of technology to supercharge mass conformity. At the moment tech drives leftwing groupthink more often, so it certainly had a lot of appeal to the right. It's sort of an apolitical message, and the show specifically talks about the role of thoughtless conformity to kuuki in Japan's march to WWII.
