I would hardly call Nagatoro a romance manga though, more like a slice of life comedy with romantic elements.

Romance genre has always been alive and relevant since forever. Also, Bokuben is garbage (80% of the chapters) and the sales reflect that.

5toubun outsold Kaguya for their second volumes. There weren't VA tickets too. Face it, people responded better to the 5toubun anime than Kaguya.
