Kimetsu no Yaiba

This any good? The artstyle looks great.

Yes, I'm watching it for ufotable.

Yes its the best shounen in recent years

Anime is alright so far.

Togashi, the greatest mangaka of Japan, named it among the three manga that give him hope for the future of Jump.

I agree. Shame the female characters are not that great

I would say the anime is better, but the manga is fine

They're not great in the majority of shounen

Why?

It's very by-the-numbers, far from special. Best thing is the cast.
Kimetsufags, pretentious as always.

>t. herofag/clovercuck

Kinda based

No it's horrible. Don't read it.
Also don't podt on its treads.

Thankfully, you mean. Few females is what keeps a mas ha from becoming a waifu war shit.

I do enjoy it a lot. Just give it a try but the beginning is a bit weak. The best part is the character and their interactions. Try to read up to drum demon arc or spider arc but if read that far and still don't like it that the place to drop the serie. The art is rough but that's what makes the comedic scene funny to me.

What were the other two?

>implying you need anything more than Nezuko

in some areas. but I find the comedic scenes are done better in manga.

forcing your dumb meme again i see

>Yes its the best shounen in recent years

World Trigger and Dr. Stone.

Magmel and some other manga that no one has ever heard of

The artstyle is ruined by jarring CG sections, and the story and characters seem incredibly boring to me. I dropped after 1.5 episodes

>watching anime

He recommended it, but user says about his interview, where he says about

Its really well animated, and has really good sound. I'm not sure if I'm sold on the MC's power revolving around smell, but it seems cool so far.

I was interested before but this has pretty much convinced me to really check it out.

big talk from someone who can't even count

I don't think it's very well paced, I kinda hate the fact that there isn't much logical consistency to dealing with the demons (you supposedly have to cut their heads but that never goes as planed), the tone is all over the place for me, the art has personality but isn't very good (Ufotable did a massive upgrade in the looks department), and I think that the characters are a bit weak except for the protagonist which is a good for these types of series. It's not horrible by any means but it's generic and I don't think it does anything particularly great.

Read it and find out for yourself, it's not really my cup of tea but hey it's not offensive or anything. I don't want to start fights here but I think it's better than BnHA though that certainly isn't saying much.

Further confirmation that HxH will continue on hiatus

The MC is one of the weakest characters what the fuck are you on about dude? Did you read it?

Pretty good opinion there. I really like it but agree with most of what you said. Most of the series's strengths have been overstated but I think that one of the strengths that people don't talk about is how the fights seem to have a push and pull that is really nice.

It's nothing spectacular but they do a pretty good job of making most of the fights seem like a real struggle to pull out the win. I can really appreciate that in a manga like this. That said I feel like the stakes aren't always established and if they would have killed off maybe 1 or 2 more characters than they have that would have been an improvement. Just my opinion though.

He's the typical shonen protagonist and he's well executed. It's like fucking up orange juice or fucking coffee, you really have to go out of your way to ruin it. The protagonist is alright.

What I fail to understand is what other stellar characters this series has. Pig boy is alright but he's only comic relief with some unbelievable backstory. Michael Jackson is a joke of an antagonist, has no depth whatsoever. Harem ninja was decent though the arc he was featured in dragged way too long.

>if they would have killed off maybe 1 or 2 more characters than they have that would have been an improvement.
Agree. well at least the author is doing that in the current arc.

not that user but I think you misinterpreted his message.

>the fights seem like a real struggle to pull out the win
Yeah, they do feel like a struggle, you're right about that. So much so that when you think about it, it just doesn't add up. You look at the sheer body count that the moons and the lesser demons rack up in a relatively small amount of time and when you then consider that these guys have been operating for centuries you really do have to wonder why there hasn't been a complete and utter human genocide. I don't know, I'm a fan of Hunter x Hunter so I definitely shouldn't be bothered by any of this but somehow it really bothers me in this series.

Also, what is the deal with the AIDS power ups? They all get these marks on their faces and they look like they're dying of AIDS. It's a nitpick, I know, but change your fucking eye color or something, don't contract fucking AIDS.

This series is dull as fuck.

Ufotable as usual is doing a great work, seems like a really really mediocre shonen so far.
I guess is bleach for the new generation since Black clover flopped hard.

>You look at the sheer body count that the moons and the lesser demons rack up in a relatively small amount of time and when you then consider that these guys have been operating for centuries you really do have to wonder why there hasn't been a complete and utter human genocide.

Don't forget that there really aren't THAT many demons. Most people don't even know that they actually exist and chalk disappearances up to superstitious stuff. The body count of the upper moons has been stated to be in the hundreds for each. So maybe tens of thousands dead total over centuries? That's just a war death toll not genocide.

Not liking the mark is a nitpick yeah. I think they deliberately avoided eye stuff though and personally I think it's fine.

If the manga keeps killing major characters every fight then readers would develop apathy and make it harder for them to be emotionally invested in any character beside the protagonist. You can still raise the stake by having civilians, non-combatants, and red shirts dying on screen. One thing I appreciate about the manga is that no matter how hard Tanjirou and co. tries, they can't save everyone. The demons killed lots of people in spider mountain, red light district and swordsmith village. The only major arc where all innocent people are saved is demon train, and we all know why.
>It's like fucking up orange juice or fucking coffee, you really have to go out of your way to ruin it
Make me wonder why so many shounen authors go out of their ways to ruin their MCs.
I think the author did a good job with the characters considering how little time there are between fights. The problem is she somehow thinks that the story must rush from one battle to the next, so she doesn't allow herself enough breathing space to develop characters further.

>why there hasn't been a complete and utter human genocide
I believe that the reason muzan created demons isn't about killing people but to protect himself and to experiment to find his cure. and all the strongest demons don't really care about killing a bunch of people that much.

>AIDS power
I think you are thinking too much. It doesn't look like Aids to me at all.

It starts out as good, quickly becomes great, then takes a dip and becomes awful. Climbs up and becomes good then becomes really good, then becomes mediocre, and right now it is pure garbage.

Does this answer your question?

OK, that's fair. It's just that you have these really intense moments when the moonies appear and reap numerous lives in a instant, the encounters are always very brutal (definitely one of the highlights for me) so you really wonder why this is doing on. Even the demon slayer chuuni exam kills most of them off, that is either a really shitty school or the demons are that powerful. Actually, it's both, the demons are really, really powerful and they're extremely blood thirst all the time since the AIDS kid is always bumping into them when they're feasting. So do the moonies operate differently? Are they less thirsty for blood somehow? Maybe I'm just a brainlet but I don't see much logical consistency here.

>The problem is she somehow thinks that the story must rush from one battle to the next
Definitely this. AIDS kid & co. have a major encounter, they survive it somehow, they're out of commission for a couple of months regrowing limbs or something, mini training arc, rinse and repeat. Even now in the current arc it feels like they're boss rushing to finish this manga though that just doesn't make any sense, it's incredibly confusing.

Well, that would definitely explain things. Though I do recall Micheal Jackson expecting the moonies to be savage.

>I think you are thinking too much. It doesn't look like Aids to me at all.
Nah, it's just a nitpick and me attempting to be humorous.

Should I read World Trigger?

I was watching the anime, I thought it was cool, but then it went in hiatus and didn't pick it up again, should I watch the rest and then pick up the manga and just go straight for the manga?

Actually now that you mention it, I feel like something the series is missing is more regular demon hunters. Sure they show up sometimes but I really feel like they should be around more. Seeing the difference between a low level hunter and someone who's a lot stronger but not Pillar level reacting to higher level demons would be a great way to establish stakes without the burnout you mentioned.

Also it bothers me that there seems to be 2 levels of demon hunter in the series. Pillar level, or useless. Some more competent non-pillar, non-mc hunters like Kanao would be great.

The violence in Kimetsu is really great. It's not super gory, but it feels very raw. This scene made me shudder a bit.

Agree. Would be nice if we have some named regular demon hunters other than that Murata dude.

A huge part of why there hasn’t been a massive massacre is that the demons can’t survive in the daylight. That gives them only several hours if they would want to commit a massacre before the demon hunters find out. Most demons aren’t very powerful if you’ve compare them to demon hunters, and they can be easily wiped out by regular soldiers. Also demons don’t commit mass murders since there’s no point. You have to be extremely powerful to eat many demons (vice versatile), as the drum demon was too weak to eat more humans. Obviously they have to eat to survive, but just like how we feel full when we eat, weaker demons have a weaker capacity. You could say that a mass murder could occur if demons worked together to gather more kill, but it was established early on its extremely uncommon for demons to team up. Not to mention there aren’t exactly a ton of demons either. Another argument is that upper and lower moons could clearly commit mass massacre. However, while lower moons have a greater motivation to eat more humans to be more powerful, they’re pretty weak, and as muzan said get “constantly wiped out”. Upper moons don’t need that particular motivation as much, and their actions are driven by their personal values + muzan’s orders.

I recommend you to read the manga.

Drop the anime like a hot potato and read the manga from the beginning.
If it's too late and you somehow finished the entire anime then start from Chapter 112 and pretend that the filler arc with the pokemon rip-offs never happened.

The story hasnt even began yet its still setting up shit.

this post is incoherent without citing specific arcs.

Muzan is a demonic elite of courss he has no reason to be evil.

Demons are nightmares in a pre industrial era as they have ridiculous regen infinite stamina and superhuman physical abilities. The first demon Tanjiro fought just speedblitzes him.
