I liked Mob hesitating about using his powers on spirits and learning to use them more on humans (at least if they're espers). I also like the Reigen episodes, although they could have been cut down to 1 episode.

The only really dark or depressing thing in OPM is Saitama's unfulfilled desires, but even then he's not super depressed about it, just permanently melancholy. It has good emotional moments because ONE can apparently do no wrong, but it's still primarily a comedy, while Mob is more of a coming of age story or a drama

Most of the time the difference between a 5/10 anime and a 9/10 is the animation. Don't change anything of Goblin Slayer, just improve the animation and you elevate the whole thing 3 or 4 points just like that. In S1 they added a lot of transition scenes when they were animating fights and they didn't harshly cut in the middle, like the manga does for obvious reason.
For example, in the latest episode, metal bat swung his bat - cut - bat hits the ground. And this is exactly what happens in the manga.

I've gotten into the series because I was interested in how a manga starring a protagonist than most of his allies and antagonist stay interesting. I seriously don't understand where the "parody" label comes from. I didn't see the term used to describe the series until the anime aired.

I honestly don't know. When someone like aoki works on this production I really don't understand what the reason could be except the possibility that they simply haven't finished more of the key animation frames for the release schedules.
We already saw how well they could do with the TTM fight in ep. 3 and even this shitty episode 5 had only a few good keyframes with nothing in between to make them flow ad shine into a good animation sequence.

I was living in a 'guesthouse', which had a shared kitchen. My room was like 2.5m by 4.5m including built in toilet/shower. I think most Australian's would call that a kitchen pantry, but you don't really need much if all you are going to do is sleep there. That cost me 450,00 yen a month, which is like $600 a month.

Japanese style food is cheap. I could survive comfortably on rice, vegetables and fish for 50,00 yen a week. Eating out will set you back about 15,00 to 25,00 yen and taking the train anywhere will cost you about 10,00 yen.

30k AUD a year leaves you with about 15k to spend after expenses. I'm currently back in Australia and my rent is 1k a month and I spend about $200 on groceries and $200 on misc expenses, mind you I live in a nice place though, so totally comparable.

Much much cheaper in the country side though. If you decide to move to the country side in Japan the government will literally give you an old style Japanese mansion for free. It's hard work keeping it clean, but if you grow your own stuff and can do maintenance etc, you could live off the land/sell your goods and produce.
