K-On might low-key be the best anime of all time. It receives 0 criticism, you will never see anyone put up a well constructed critic of this anime. Maybe a single sentence or vague response by some contrarian attention whore. But this anime has 0 flaws.
K-On might low-key be the best anime of all time. It receives 0 criticism...
No flaws but not much great about it either.
Two words: no yuri.
Wrong.
Canon romantic love, whether yuri or het, would take away from the core theme of friendship. Do whatever you want in doujins though.
This guy has it right. If it had yuri it'd be a different genre and won't be good anymore.
Ritsu is a bitch
>low-key
Don't talk about Ritsu like that
It's boring as fuck. This show is about nothing. It's literally cute girls doing cute things and that's it
That's like saying sitcom are bad bad because no plot. Not saying K-On is great or anything but it has its appeal.
That's why it's the best.
The anime is a lot like the band itself; critiquing it would just feel like you were kicking a puppy.
Or rather, WORSE than kicking an actual puppy.
Even for a CGDCT show, the plot goes nowhere. The characters don't have to work at their music and any difficulties they encounter are easily dealt with. While the music is fine, the singing is too shrill.
newfags first sol, lame
>But this anime has 0 flaws.
It does: it didn't properly adapt this scene.
A show being inoffensive doesn't make it good
I love the shit out of it tho
Ritsu is cool and friendly. Mio is actually a bitch though.
I found it unwatchably boring after a couple of episodes for one simple reason:
*They never actually get down to playing any music*.
Inb4 "that's the point hurr durr". I guess it's a matter of taste, but I think CGDCT works better if there is a proper activity, and if that activity is depicted at least semi-sensibly with a decent amount of real accurate information. (e.g. the recipes etc in Yuru Camp; the tanks in GuP, etc).
nothing low-key about it
it's THE best CGDCT for a fucking decade at this point
Some essential CGDCT shows just revolve around the characters getting through high school, just like K on.
Do you dislike Azumanga, Hidamari and Lucky Star as well?
The show is an absolute borefest the entire way through. The show might have been something interesting if they played more than just Fuwa Fuwa Time every five episodes, if it had been more of an actual music-themed anime. The movie is dumb as shit as well, it's literally just twintail chick having nightmares about Yui possibly being The Big Gay. It's a "cute girls doing cute things" anime that only got popular because it was among the first, and the fanbase often acts like some of the most obnoxious faglords imaginable, saying it's the best and that it's perfect without even giving reason as to why.
The OPs and EDs are fucking great though. The rest of the franchise is trash.
>moe SOL
>it's BORING
Why the fuck did you even watch it then
The fact thatsvits a cgdct makes it autotrash
realistic depictions of CGDCT such as hanging out and eating cake
I haven't seen any of those I'm afraid. I am a relative newbie. I tried the one about the coffee shop ("The Order Is A Rabbit" or something) and found that suffered the K-On problem - the characters never did anything, whereas Comic Girls was OK because they were working hard at their drawings, which gave it some backbone.
I'm done with this place. There's simply too much redditors now that it's nauseating.
>stop at 3 or 4 episodes because it doesnt seem promising
>"durr, it gets better later on retard"
>watch entire series to try and understand why people like it
>"Why the fuck did you even watch it then if you didn't enjoy it"
Literally no winning here, fuck off.
It's boring. It's also a kid's show. I don't need to critisize it. There's nothing wrong with it because it doesn't do anything that could even go wrong in the first place.
AKA the Homer Simpson failure prevention strategy.
>It's also a kid's show.
It isn't.
It's a cute series about cute girls doing cute things.
And you can't tell me it didn't make you cry like a little bitch.
this. The only good episode was the kyoto trip by the way
>ITT people who are unironically too stupid to understand why k-on is the most nuanced and well executed example of its genre.
I mean don't get me wrong, K-On will forever remain as one of the best CGDCT anime, but that doesn't mean there aren't any flaws.
Personally it bothers me just how little character progression happens over the seasons. Because the characters never face any real difficulties they never grow as persons. In fact they rarely even get outside of their light music club bubble. You could replace Mio from s1ep7 with s2ep23 and absolutely nothing would be different.
This specially rubbed in the wrong way with Winter Days! (s1ep13). It's the perfect premise for having the girls be apart for a while and do shit on their own/with other people, but it just fizzles out miserably.
This but unironically
>and the fanbase often acts like some of the most obnoxious faglords imaginable, saying it's the best and that it's perfect without even giving reason as to why.
At least the people criticising the show are giving legitimate criticisms, the fans are just blindly defending it.
>REEE CUTE GIRLS
>REEE THEY DIDNT PLAY MUSIC
>REEE NOTHING HAPPENS
>legitimate criticisms
How is "they didn't play music" not a legitimate criticism of a slice of life that focuses on a school music band? "Cute girls" and "nothing happens" are bad criticisms of a SoL anime though, I'll give you that.
>How is "they didn't play music" not a legitimate criticism of a slice of life that focuses on a school music band?
Because the band themselves barely focus on the band. That's the point.
There are a few "legitimate criticisms" of K-ON, but they're rarely aired because basically everyone who dislikes K-ON is a retarded shounen/mechafag. And I'd still give the second season a 9/10 at worst even if it isn't literally perfect (nothing is).
Music is not the point of the show. At most it's just a vehicle to get to more sol. The fact that it's so good is just a coincidence.
and that's a good thing
I'm not one of the retards that's saying it's flawless but none of that criticism is legitimate. It's mostly just "the fanbase is gay" and "it's a SoL".
A bit.
> Implying the plot is about music
It's about friendship my dude. Focus on azunyan and yui development to see what it's about.
K-On is great, but the GOAT CGDCT is Lucky Star.
No it's not. A show predicated on mundane pop-culture references that doesn't even try to do anything remotely eye-catching is not GOAT. Now Hidamari Sketch, that was a real cgdct show. My wife Miya-chan is also very cute and wide.
>low-key
I think it's a pretty well known fact that no other anime has ever come close to K-On ever since it aired
>moeshit
into the trash you go, pleb
