The anime was okay except for the lukewarm ending.
Really though the issue was CR's garbage attempts at localization.
E.g. translating Ayame saying big dick to big dingleberries, it's completely tonedeaf. One is sexy, the other is just disgusting. If something doesn't localize well, then leave it (and if it's really necessary, use a TL note).
