Americans in Anime:

How are Americans depicted and or represented in anime these days? As far as I can remember back in the Old Days™. Americans would be as stereotypical as possible, be it Bandit Keith-tier stereotype or not, Murricans were in the stereotype level, at least as far as I can remember. But what about today or in the "current days and year(s)"? Sure America and Americans are mentioned but when ever Westerners and or Anglos would appear in an anime it's almost always bound to be Brits, Frics, and Krauts. And rarely would I personally see an American, not even a stereotypical Cletus or Billy from Kansas and Arkansas. Not even a loud chubby tourist who keeps snapping photos.

Also I sometimes personally think if there'd be an anime that would at least reference the United States it would probably be a fictional and alternate setting. In which it may or may not be a similar current modern day 21st century setting and not!America would be at best case scenario be depicted as the land where big, loud and boisterous people live and come from and having alot of guns. Or at worst, not!America is depicted as the "evil empire" or a Police State/Military Junta in which it's government, military and leadership are massive Wilsonians enforcing foreign policy on the underdog countries and or characters and possibly having expansionist agendas to boot. All as some jab at "Americans bad and meany, Japan is good and human boys!"

But anywho. Are there any cases of anime actually depicting Americans, whether as stereotypes or as characters? Especially if such anime does features Westerners who are not just Euros that Japs seem to have a softer side for to the point of fetishising and wanking off to. (Especially in the case of Germany)

You may not like it, but this is what peak FREEDOM looks like.

Someone explain to me as to why Iowa is considered a superior battleship but Yamato is considered as "actually inferior and outdated?"

Why? Yamato as in the actual ship is bigger and has badder guns.

perfect thread for me to post Thompson-Sensei

Bigger guns mean shit if you can't hit for shit. Iowa and americans in general had superior radar and fire controls which meant that they could engage nip ship further and earlier than the nip. Still love Yamato.

Nips think all westerners have blonde hair and blue eyes.

>all westerners have blonde hair and blue eyes
More like long noses.

Yamato was peak WWI tech being used in WWII.

I think the question is. How often would blacks or as in African Americans be seen in anime. Yes I know black did appear in anime in general (not brown and tanned skin as on actual negroes.)

Though if anime did have actual Burger People from BurgerStan as characters, would Japs even bother doing African Americans?

....

You forgot ARMED, Asuka. No pun intended.

Why is that the question?

I can think of two generic types. Foreign Men, and the Big Tittied Woman. FM's usually approach women to "ask for directions" when they're really just looking to smash some nip pussy. Their success is dependent on whether or not its an NTR manga. BGTW appear all over the place, they're usually very excitable and physical, and often dumb.

Cause he's an idiot

Yes, SF is anime, blow it out your ass

She's literally the personification of the Thompson SMG/Tommy Gun yes?

Should I assume there are gangster mobster jokes about her? I mean considering the Thompson SMG is popularly used by Mobsters.

I guess Japan didn't get the memo where it says that USA is not white. They (Murricah) still have the biggest and strongest military in the planet, not even Russia, China or Eurocucks can't compete.

It was shown very briefly in the manga as a young version of herself with the characters saying "she did some bad things in the past."

But Japs literally do the same to whatever European appear in anime too.

What is that supposed to mean then?

They just got kicked out of Syria by the Russians.

They make the distinction in their looks by having them look like a stereotype. Otherwise they would look like any other anime character because anime characters often just look like white people.

well to be fair when i was a kid i used to think that most americans were blue eyed white ultrachads before finding out about LA CREATURA, i blame hollywood.

That's a swede user

I wonder though. By any chance if an anime's setting so happens to be in Okinawa or atleast an episode of an anime that takes place in Okinawa what are the chances of US military bases and the American Soldiers stationed there make an appearance or at least mentioned.

I frankly don't know any anime or manga that's done that. But my guess is a representation of Murricans can be Burger Troopers stationed in Okinawa. I mean that is a common and well known thing about Okinawa after all, the American Military bases and personnel in there.

And headcanon of mine that I just thought of thanks to this thread:

Usually in Isekai it's Commercial Trucks or Truck-kun that runs over hapless schmucks the transport them to a different world. But in Okinawa, while Truck-kun is present there's faulty US Airforce helicopters and V-22 Osprey VTOLs that're crash landing that also help send any unfortunate Joe-schmoe to be Isekai to a different realm.

But yeah, assuming an anime so happens to have Okinawa in an episode. Maybe it could feature some US Troopers from the military bases there to make an appearance or so.
