Hayao Miyazaki

Why does he treat everyone around him like shit? I’ve heard stories from multiple manga artists and anime television creators who’ve expressed a lot of criticism about him.

They probably aren't fuckable little girls.

First post best post

What's so good about him again?

Making it big in Japan (and America pretty much) means that you can treat people below you with as much shit as you want.
This compounds with the fact that manga artists and anime animators are treated like shit by default, even moreso the the typical worker.

Name 200 billion (200,000,000,000) examples of this ever happening.

I know it's a meme, but just ask for 6. It's high enough number no one can satisfy

I donno but fuck the memes, his movies are literal masterpieces. I don't care what anyone says.

Why did Steve Jobs treat everyone around him like shit? Innovative/talented people don't accept
>eh, kinda

it’s the nip working culture
takahata was the same way

Imagine being an animator at Studio Ghibli working late nights giving life to scribbles some old drunk asshole hands you. Every time he passes his scribbles to you he criticizes your work before going into a diatribe about the environment and world war 2 japan. Every once in a while he hands you what appears to be naked children, and instead of the usual drunk scolding he just says "do this now" before standing silently behind you. for the next hour while you animate a few frames of this scene, you start to hear repetative movements and heavy breathing behind you. You also hear the sounds of all the other staff in the room quickly but quietly evacuating. You have been here before and know the consequences of turning around to see what the hell is happening. You persevere and continue drawing masterfully polished frames of bare kiddies hoping the sounds go away soon and the demon retreats back to his smelly corner of the room. When he finally leaves, you shut down your station, leave the office and grab a couple of sakes from the bar across the street before beginning your long commute home. You get home and your wife is already asleep. You get in bed and she wakes and asks how your day was. The reality you did well to block out suddenly floods back and you proceed to beat and rape your wife.

kek

Hayao Miyazaki is to anime what Gene Roddenberry was to live action television.

His ego is that he bills himself as an idealist who's very absolutist about his ideals, and gets angry to the point of obsession about anyone not sharing his ideals.

You just need to look at his nasty reactions to his son Goro's Earthsea movie to see how this manifests. He was infuriated that the movie didn't share his utopian vision of nonviolence, environmentalism, female empowerment, and other such ideals. Long story short, he's a guy who is generally well meaning but has his head far enough up his ass to eat out his own prostate.

It's hilarious to me how a bunch of Yea Forumsssholes hate on him for no good reason other than "I heard he's mean and he said something I didn't like!".

does his son hate him?

>is a pedophile
>hates anime despite making it
>hates everything
Literally /ourguy/

Your refusal to understand Miyazaki will come back to bite you too.

Hes a commie whos angry that Japan never followed NK in being a commie nation thats all.

Movies are still good though.

If he doesnt, he REALLY should.

Well I dont hate him. But I dont suck his cock either nor do I think hes is relevant anymore. And guess what? Being an asshole only works for so long.

>hes is relevant anymore
Miyazaki will literally never not be relevant even when he dies, he's incredibly important to the medium even if you think he's garbage

Not really. Most of the industry has moved on quite a bit. Sure the studio will be relevant. But not him in particular.

>The reality you did well to block out suddenly floods back and you proceed to beat and rape your wife.
10/10 ending

It's already happening on Yea Forums hell Yea Forums as a whole, thus the increase of the use of boomer/zoomer and MONSTER meme

Even then, he's responsible for it all happening.

Unpopular opinion but Goro Miyazaki is a much better storyteller than Hayao. He pulled off what is quite possibly the most ambitious and successful single-film adaptation of a multi-book series ever made.

Cause he's an ass.

Creating great movies doesn't stop you from being a shitty person.

Hot take but not good take

most of what miyazaki says about the industry and otaku has been said by anno, albeit not as harsh

Anno has gone back on most of his criticisms of otaku and escapism. Guy unabashedly loves Strike Witches now.

I love SW too but that doesn't mean I don't want the industry to crash and burn

Anno is just mini-Miyazaki

Miyazaki's best anime are all derivative. Future Boy Conan is The Incredible Tide. Lupin III is Maurice Leblanc's character but in Japan.
But the Nausicaa manga is good. He has that achievement.

>Miyazaki's best anime
>future boy conan
>Lupin III

Based and redpilled

>Miyazaki talks the talk and walks the walk
>This infuriates many

>Miyazaki
>Lupin III
How much of a newfag are you user? What board are you from?

When you don't have time to consider how polite you are to people and just want shit done right because of your critical acclaim, you become someone who's very kind and nice to those close to him, but straight to business with people who work for you. Bosses are always the bad guy.

>but straight to business with people who work for you

So his son is a, "business person"?

It was a mess. It had nice action and character animation, I'll give you that, but it felt really disjointed. And what about the stabbing? I never understood it aside from the meta from Goro. And in my opinion, he will be executed for it when he returns to face his sin, so all the plot is for nothing.

Didnt know being a general pouty boomer was walking the walk for the anime industry.

>being this stupid
just stop, your shitposting skills are far too low and your whole attempt is obvious beyond belief.

Well at least you admit your a boomer. Most even wont do that.

>MONSTER meme
That's actually shiil meme advertising. It's effectively forced by the Monster advertising dept.

man the fuck up, son. haven't you had a decent father?

My sides

Well he treated like q son so.... yeah, I did have a decent father. Did you?

I never liked his movies and don't understand their appeal. I was much more inspired by Anno's world of Eva, I guess I just don't find Miyazaki's imagination interesting or appealing.

>99.999999999999% of you fuckers are here because you are trying to escape the cruelty of real world
>Here comes the person that wants our world to be a better, nicer place
>Instantly hate on him, calling him worst buzzwords you can possibly imagine and mindlessly berate everything he does

Never change, /a, never change.

Attached: 15540779927920.jpg (540x960, 53K)

"Ambitious" is the most charitable thing I can say about it. The plot was a mess and the major themes/morals from the books are conveyed in a really childish, preachy way. It was stupid for a freshman director to tackle a legacy property like Earthsea.

Bitch if some people doesn't agree with him it doesn't mean the hate him.
They simply doesn't share his vision.

I'm a big fan of nausicaa but that's all.

>99.999999999999% of you fuckers are here because you are trying to escape the cruelty of real world
>Here comes the person that wants our world to be a better, nicer place
>Instantly hate on him, calling him worst buzzwords you can possibly imagine and mindlessly berate everything he does

That's how they are because there hasn't been any punishment for that kind of viewpoint. I remember when Yea Forums would repeatedly attack any hoarder of anime or manga downloads. Over and over those people get attacked.

Then, after a number of sites disappear, it was the hoarders that generously restored items for download from their collections. After a few cycles of this, people don't attack the hoarders any more. They are a necessary part of the fandom ecosystem.

Pretty much this but a lot of retards don't understand this.

Btw I remember of some thread on Yea Forums who was filled with a lot of people of /g/ who was uploading stuff again.

Oh no, heaven forbid one of the top 3 animation studios, run by a WWII era Japanese grandpa has standards. Then again, unlike a Pixar employee, his guys can keep their own art.

He spent his entire life pouring everything he had into perfecting his craft, and not only did it not make him happy or fulfilled, it fueled the popularization of a medium that has now changed into a commercial vehicle to pander to a niche market of dysfunctional otaku.

If you were constantly grappling with the realization that you wasted your entire life, you'd probably be cranky too.

>making literal classics in his medium and becoming a household name
>wasted
If he's really thinking that then his expectations must be through the roof, and he'd have nobody to blame for that aside from himself.

saved lmao

He's old and famous. That means he doesn't have to pretend to be nice to people anymore.

Spot. Fucking. On. Of course this retard completely misses your point.

He doesn't.

he's based and redpilled and some people can't handle that

Why do americans hate him?

Post worthy of another (you)

Not him but Miyazaki and Takahata directed the majority of Lupin III Part 1

>claims he is a pacifist and moralist
>participated in a franchise about an amoral character who solves his problems with guns

Nevermind, I just found out that he's a pacifist

Attached: 100 000 tonnes of democracy.jpg (1000x799, 99K)

Lupin also raped women in the manga

Please, Miyazaki is a rich asshole who made a fortune off of his "talents." He's as capitalist as they come.

>loves Strike Witches
post proof

>Watching segment on NHK about Ghibli
>His son is directing/storyboarding
>Miyazaki comes in, acts like an asshole and tries to commandeer his work and tell him what to do.

>be Hayao Miyazaki
>have dreams about adapting Earthsea for years
>finally, after winning an Oscar for Spirited Away get the approval of the author you admire so much
>on the condition that you yourself will work on the movie
>be getting ready to do the best you can
>but the head of your studio decides not to wait for you to finish your current project and starts production immediately
>appointing your son, that has never directed anything in his life, as a director
>be upset about the situation, but try to help him to not ruin the movie you had dreams of and worked so hard to get the rights for
>he instantly goes into "screw you old man, I know better" mode
>refuses to talk to you during the production
>ends up making mediocre movie that no one cares about
>despite all the experienced members of Ghibli working on it as well as the good source material
>disappoints the author of the original book series
>continues to ignore your advices
>as a result, has nothing good to his name whilst being 52 years old

>you are somehow the bad guy here

Nice bait faggot the movie has the biggest sin that a movie could have and that is being boring.
You watch half an hour but it feels like three.

The entire problem with the Earthsea books is how un-adaptable they are. The author starts with the premise that all wizards KNOW magic but only bad or morally challenged wizards actually USE magic. How stupid is that?

Well, I’m all fairness, Earthsea was garbage.
