Actually it's precisely because it's shonen that people give a shit. Shonen is filled up with fights where the animators have to push their capacities to animate scenes since they're filled with so much fast-paced action and special moves.
Everyone should have high standards in terms of animation for shonen because it is THE genre with the most potential for beautifully animated, dynamic scenes. Some of the best animators have done many of their most recognizable scenes in shonen anime for a reason.
I don't fully agree that the entire episode was shit, but no one's here is unjustified in being angry at OPM being so mediocre compared to the first season.

The other option back then was.....Deen Studio(currently they plan to do NNT Season 3).

Garou's fight with MB was a rushed mess with hilarious sound effects. Garou's first punch at him and some dodges looked fine. His VA is also great as always. Otherwise, eh.

The reason the humor works is because of the gags accompanied with actual story, action and drama. The Monster Association arc is the best because of this. Metal Knight OST felt like something out of Hero Academia.

The eren vs reiner fight was wonky as fuck in the beginning but there wasn't any cgi that i could tell (maybe the broken buildings? but that was all cgi), the 2nd half of the fight was well done, and the spear shit had some nice sakuga and direction.

OPMs2 looks bad, but fuck is it all ruined by the bad directing.

Strange how when I go back to the manga and read those chapters again suddenly MB looks so much stronger compared to his anime counterpart when the events that took place in both are the same.

Maybe that's because his attacks lacked a lot of the "weight" it displayed there. Like right at the end, when he stops his swing, both the sound and the motion don't really "sell" to the point that I felt like the pathetic little crater that formed under them for no reason didn't even deserve to be there.

Not to mention the only sound effect that was good quality and realistic was Garou scratching his head. Hilarious.

I loved that fight but phoenixman seriously deserved to be present with the cadres for the final battle. Though I understand why ONE/murata decided to make him lose to CE. In the webcomic, every S-class looked utterly powerless against Dragon threats save for Bang and Tatsumaki. So they decided to give the win to CE so that the balance of powers looks more balanced.

I mean Senior was allright but Elder looks terrible and his movement is slow, floaty and unnatural.
