I like to believe Birthday Wonderland. It just immediately catches eye and a lot of people who aren't intimately familiar with anime actually can recognize Ilya's designs, I know many people with whom I used to go to school who pointed it out (they are fans of Persona and we of course used to share fanart in early days of having internet).

But it probably will be Weathering, if Your Name has shown us anything it's that you don't need to put too much effort to win people over. Garden of Words was clearly peak Shinkai, now he just rehashes himself and his favorite tricks (like animating people drawing, who gives a shit at this point, it was cool only first time he did it, and now it's rain again and it looks EXACTLY like in Garden of Words because he brought back some staff).

I can't believe someone gave that tracing guy an anime.

I've only seen the trailer for Tenki no Ko and it's already my AOTD. I hope Shinkai blesses us with a new kino every few years

Penguin Highway was wonderful, and Kaijuu no Kodomo looks really impressive. Kimi To Nami didn't really grab my attention but it could turn out okay.
