To me, higher education feels like a growth modifier. If they were already retarded in high school, they just continue to be be autists into college and adult life. The ones that aren't okay just further accelerate into hell in college. The stable ones stay mostly stable barring anything crazy.

same thoughts, I greatly regret getting into a regular uni instead of a distance one from the start, it makes no difference watching a professor on a screen except you can rewatch it as many times as you want and there's a whole lot more you can show on a computer that you can't on a blackboard, not to mention how much more cheaper it is

Fuck me this is true. I live 45 minutes away. Being older than all of my classmates is bad enough, but living out of town with my parents makes me feel completely disconnected from everyone around me.
