Last week, I learned the rules of baseball. It felt pretty fun to me too from just looking at the rules. Don't know why it's supposed to be boring according to Yea Forums, but probably because of games going on for unreasonably long and lots of time-wasting.
Definitively want to rewatch One Outs now. And also, if they started introducing QUALITY immediately there's a modicum of chance that they spread their time evenly between all episodes and there will be no implosion (unfortunately).

There's a lot of depth to baseball, but there's a fundamental issue with it that makes it really easy for games to turn into snorefests: the pitcher.
At the end of the day, there's a bunch of cool shit that can happen on the mound, but you need a pitcher that isn't an unbeatable ace for them to happen 99% of the time.
Otherwise, you have half the game that's just one guy striking out three clueless batters, and another guy on the other team doing the exact same thing immediately afterwards. Games where the batters don't manage to hit a ball well enough to open up a chance to score aren't uncommon, and thus, boreball is born.

The mc's team was very short sighted in hoping to win a practice game.
The best moment of the episode was when the team reflected on their short comings.
The horizon was a focal point of the scene. It was blurry at first, but as each team member admitted their faults, it became clearer and clearer to the point you could see the town beyond the horizon. Not sure if anyone else caught it but it was a nice touch to a scene that would otherwise be just people shouting at the sky for no reason.

Not really something I'd recommend watching outside of the season it aired. It has it's good qualities, like a charming cast and some interesting supernatural moments, and doesn't really do anything terribly, but it isn't anything special either.
If you want something chill to watch that has a village of mermaids that restore and maintain a movie theater, then definitely give it a watch. It's cute and somewhat QUALITY. It's basically like a worse Aria.

I don't know the meta of baseball, but I'd imagine putting her on 2nd base would be perfect. Then she'd be the least distance from every person in the game. Obviously, I'd rather she exercise and build up her arm strength, but this is a low-budget 1-cour gacha anime, so I know that's not happening.

When I was a newfag at playing baseball, my coach did the same with me. I was put in outfield for a while. A few friends more experienced in the game told me is to get used to the ball (the game) in a more friendly way, there was too much stuff going on in the infield. My throw was weak as fuck as well so I had to work with the first and second base a lot. It was fun overall and I learned a lot about how the game plays.

They really need a short training arc where she's just practicing catches and throws a lot. They showed her training on the spring hand grip early on, but she needs more than that.
We're only 5 episodes in and they just lost their first match, so I can see them doing a mini training arc in that time where Ukita is hopefully building up her strength to become a real team member.
