what do you guys think of the latest elizabeth bathory figure? I don't like the base, they shouldn't have made it transparent. Especially with the tombstone and slime sticking out of it. But otherwise, I think it looks the best out of the Bathory figures.

the color is really well done. You can really see the different shades of red on the hair, armor, and shield. The color doesn't get mashed together.
She is significantly cuter than her other counterparts. I am not sure if there will be another elizabeth figure. I think her popularity has waned down considerably, so this might be her peak figure.

I had another question. Recently in a past thread I asked about ways of supporting the creators of a series . So anyway I read the guide about buying manga, translated/localized vs buying from Japan. The manga I'm looking at is around 4500 Yen for the whole set from Japan brand new, and the localized version is around ~$100 brand new. So I'm guessing paying for the localized version is basically pointless unless you want translated manga? The thing is, I already have a translated version I downloaded off Nyaa. I would just want to support the artist the best way.

focus is a little off. if you look closely at the entire figure certain areas are soft. you can avoid this with a tripod or a boxes stacked on top. if you tend to move the camera too much while pressing the shutter you could always use the timed shutter mode to avoid movement lag/blur.

That picture has no issue with movement though, you can see well defined edges and no multiple/moved exposition meaning just DOF is way too shallow.

This. The room was too dark. Aperture was open too much creating a shallow depth of field and even tho it was really open it still needed a high ISO to make the image come out light enough. Made the same mistake countless times when I started taking pics.

I'm still learning the D7200 platform, but adjusting ISO properly in every circumstance seems time consuming, especially having used an EOS series of cameras previously which has better live view for easy adjustments. Because of that, I've had it on auto for when I was travelling Japan back at the end of last year/start of this year. I've got another set of 50mm 1.8g lenses and a 18-105 kit, so I can probably get a better focus with the 50mm.
I'll play around with it more eventually, just not anytime soon in-between university and 38 hour minimum work weeks.

Adjusting iso on non moving objects is as easy as it gets, you literally dunk it to 100, set whatever aperture you want and then just add shutter time as needed. Of course long exposures mean a tripod or at leas a still camera but doesn't get as easy as that ever on moving targets.

Figures are used by:
- Taking photos
- Posing/animating if they're jointed
- Supporting their series through the purchase
- Cumming on them
- Simply admiring them on your shelf
