Regardless of Yea Forums bitching about Samurai 8 everyone and their mom are going to check it out anyway. The premise doesn’t sound interesting at all but it might be fun, though people are going to shitpost regardless.
MHA is literally naruto but bad.
Hori literally just copy scenes or ideas but execute them worse, like Stain being a really shit zabuza, without any of the depth, proper build up or character growth.
Or Deku having to punch bakugo cause he shit himself in front of all might, being a bitch version of naruto having to snap sasuke out of it in front of orochimaru. The MHA lacked any sense of urgency or intensity because they weren't in any actual danger, there where no real stakes.
But the scene in naruto had all of that and some, there's an actual possibility of death in their context, the scene calls back to when naruto was frozen in fear and saved by sasuke, and there where layers of build up to the scene with the mental torture that put sasuke in that position, and so on.
I could go on and on but you get the point, MHA is like Kidz bop version of Naruto, and black clover is unironically more original.
Honestly I'm gonna give it a fair shot, even if I expect it to be Naruto 2.

An autistic and highly disabled child with no friends wants to become something great (samurai, supposedly like his father since Kishi is emphazing father-son relationships in this story) and wishes on a shooting star. He finds a samurai cat named Dharma inside his house who changes his life forever.
As for the samurai, they are unique beings called keys and there are seven keys in total. In the trailer you can see a key being held in front of Hachimaru as he cries. These keys are the defining factor of a samurai and their powers will possibly be linked to them. Its also likely the powers are animal related going off of storyboards we've seen and Hachimaru's dog. Hachimaru, his name literally meaning eight, will be given a key and named the eighth samurai. I'm not sure what the hell comes after since he achieved his goal, but I'm mainly excited because I like Kishi's writing and characters. I also like scifi shit.

I like this types of manga based on samurais. This, alongside with KnY, will be a good read. When is the release date again?

A major complaint Kishi got from his editors in his early days was that his designs were -overcomplicated-. I actually own a Naruto artbook and in it kishi mentioned that he often over complicated his characters outfits and put too much adornments and things on them and had to be held back by himself and editors.
You can see this in alot of Naruto color pages where he has free reign over what he draws.
The thing about Samurai 8 is he doesn't -have- to hold anything back, the best shounen MCs are the ones with the simplest designs. The ones who try -too hard- to be unique always flop.
And this kid has too much going on, 2 prosthetic limbs, glasses, spikey hair, forehead marking, a cat avatar and one of deidaras clay pets.
He fucked up naming it Samurai 8, it will forever be linked to Samurai 7 and will never feel like its own thing.

Kishi draws the MC worse than Okubo, and Okubo isn't even a bad artist. Kishi's writing is the best thing about him.

S8’s artist makes his art look like toddler drawings so I wouldn’t be surprised if it got axed by chapter 50 since it will be automatically save for atleast 30 chapters since it’s by kishimoto.
