Continuing from Things didn´t go as expected last chapter, with the MC´s self proclaimed rival winning a baseball challenge by defeault and our main heroine being encouraged to defend herself, rather than becoming someone for the MC to protect.
For chapter 54 we´ll see how everything plays out.

What´s happening here is that the guy with the moustache is the teacher that´s currently assigned as the baseball coach to Yugami´s team, and he is despondant because the optimistic personality of the former captain made it easy for him to sit back, while with Yugami as captain things got a lot more intense.
So while Yugami is busy writing down everyone´s ideas on how to improve the results of the baseball team, Hayashiyama´s team actually went on to win the regional spring tournament. (not to be confused with the spring koshien). Poor chihiro just gets reminded of the bet she is involved in...
It seems Hayashiyama sucess in baseball is helping him out with his issues with approaching people, since they are coming to meet him rather than him having to go and meet them...
Meanwhile we get another look at why Yugami´s team was particularly bad before.
Chihiro´s overreacting a bit, but that´s what happens if you see all the signs pointing towards disaster.
So basically since Hayashiyama got what he wanted from chihiro by getting popular, the whole mess with trying to date her completely slipped his mind and doesn´t matter anymore.
Not that Hayashiyama explains or even tries to make it sound reasonable.

And the last page in chapter 54 shows that Yugami himself was no exception, which gives the final push for the newbie teacher to take up the job.
That must kinda sting even if you weren't into the person to begin.
When wil chihiro catch a break
Chapter 55 goes in an entirely different direction, and is about people trying to connect with their juniors.
Meant to say the only thing in Chihiro´s mind at that moment is "WTF was all that about"
Newbie teacher still seems to think Yugami needs guidance.
So it seems the teacher used to eat lunch by himself and be seen as a weirdo at first, but as he started fitting in he gradually loosened up and can even enjoy going out and party
Conveniently enough, Nogami demonstrates the typical case of a person who isolates herself because of her weirdness, and thus will open up if given the chance like Chihiro just did. But we know this doen´t apply to Yugami...
Oh shit it's that time again.
Unsurprisingly, when eating Yugami considers enjoying the food as much more important than bonding with the person he´s eating with. What´s unexpected is that the teacher gets his point of view

So chapter 55 closes off with a two fold misunderstanding (best way to describe relationships between different generations, really). The teacher believes Yugami bolted off when he finished eating to isolate himself again, and chases after him to prevent it. Yet Yugami, when he realizes the teacher left reasons that his ideas about savouring the food by yourself got through, and that both could understand each other.
The next chapter ends volume 11 with a shock, as the ever friendly Chihiro actually cuts ties with someone while Yugami wonders if he is doing something to cause his own misfortune. The chapter after that has both of them trying to cope. But that´s for another day.
How can i enjoy my life like Yugami.

Yes, but concluded manga occasionally get anime to advertise the final volume and collected tanks. I think it's pretty unlikely in Yugami's case but it could happen.

I wonder if "I like it" is a better translation than "good", since Yugami literally says what's in the like button.
They mean the same thing but somebody saying "I like it!" is a bit more odd of an expression than "Good!" or "Nice!". It's not really worth splitting hairs over.
It matters here because that's the joke, but really at the current rate the translators are going they will only reach that chapter by the end of the year so it's up to them.
You're really overthinking this. People say いいね all the time in Japan. It's nothing special. It's not even a joke here.
