I've been meaning to watch that one actually

Bleach. It helps that it was my gateway anime, at least if you don't count 4Kids dubs
I actually thought Bleach was pretty good, evrn though I'm usually not that into very long anime. I think it's easily better than One Piece and Naruto by the way.
Honestly wasn't a fan.

Great thread, nigger
Nah, I don't care if 2 different people have the same answer, it's not one of those threads
what's this?
Kannazuki no Miko / Destiny of the Shrine Maiden
Neat, been waiting for one of these.
Just finished the second viewing of ZnT. Goddamn this show has a prime selection of ass.

Rewatching GitS SAC
I did not pick up on what a rug munch the Major is when I saw this on t.v. ages ago.

This is a terrible show but it has at least one redeeming quality.
Does it have to be favorites or can we just have a 00s discussion?
Could also be the second one
I'm fine with either.
nothing good has come out since 1976
One of the best comedies of the 00s.

only the first season, really. 2 has its moments though
The first and only yuri I've ever watched. Loved it
Worth a watch?
May I also recommend Claymore? It's not flawless, especially the manga inaccurate ending but it's still very enjoyable
The show that mindbroke me for cute girls.
You have a really good taste my dear
This and Kino
I love Haibane Renmei so much
Always have a special place in my heart.

Azumanga Daioh
Same.
This, FLCL, and Diebuster were all so good. How did Gainax die so fast? It seemed like after TTGL, the studio got downsized considerably.
Gurren Lagann is peak anime, only thing maybe comparing is Kill La Kill.
KLK is watered-down garbage
>less insane than FLCL
>less degenerate than Dead Leaves
>less structurally epic than TTGL
Every time I hear this title I think of that one song from The Offspring
This
which one lmao
Gurren Lagann is type of anime I would have absolutely adored if I had seen it as a kid first time. I'd give it 7 outta 10 max. I hate how Yoko has basically no personality.
She does have one though.
Classy show for refined individuals.
still my favorite
K-ON! or NHK ni Yokouso
I wonder if there will ever be nostalgia for the 00s? It's kind of a strange period. There were a handful of shows that made it onto Adult Swim so that generation might remember some but it was also before streaming so that generation has no nostalgia for it, nor is it old enough to pull in the aestheticfags. The only people who were balls deep in anime at that time were those who knew how to get fansubs on the internet. I love shows from this period because it was when I learned where to find anime and really got serious about it.
There already is and has been for years. Anime exploded in the mid 00s, what are you talking about?
Streamkiddies are only nostalgic for whatever they started watching in the 10s and 80s shows that they don't actually watch other than gifs and AMVs on twitter.
you have shit tastes.
It sounds like you just desperately want to find something to be angry at.
I watched Haibane Renmei, Princess Tutu, and Kino's Journey all almost one after another and that was an amazing sequence of series. HR is probably my favorite of the three though.
I'm angry that the retro anime threads that I used to love hanging out in were invaded by newfags and completely went to shit.
I think KLK was really good even though TTGL is obviously much better.
K-ON! is pretty nice even though I'm usually not into that genre at all.
No love for Hidamari Sketch? I'm disappointed in all of you.
Kill la Kill is far better, take off your nostalgia goggles. TTGL has a lot more dull moments than KLK, you just don't remember it because the story was new to you and the climax was so epic.
This, Black Lagoon, or Air Gear
ANIKI WA SHINDA
MOU INAI
I really miss these angels.
Had to look it up, it's this one

All these were fun.
I should really do Chode Geese one day.
I saw TTGL after I saw KLK user, I had watched FLCL and Dead Leaves before though

great nearly perfect show.
I saw TTGL after KLK too and while I thought it was better than it at first, every attempt at rewatching it just leaves me bored after a couple of episodes because the story is a very basic coming of age story. Not saying KLK's story is complex but Ryuko is a far more engaging character who is more about firsthand conflict than growth. They used the art style and limited animation to make every scene fun to watch which makes it a blast to watch again and again to me. FLCL and Dead Leaves are close, but the former is another coming of age story I don't relate to anymore and the latter is a bit too juvenile and random for me. Kill la Kill is the perfect mix of Imaishi's more crazy style and Nakashima's epic storytelling.
Anime makes me sad. It reminds me the failure of a person I am, and that I dont have friends.
I felt ashamed of myself for watching that. I wonder if Nobuyuki Hiyama and Jyouji Nakata felt ashamed too.
Dandy is one of Nakata's best roles, he has nothing to be ashamed of.
Hard to top the Haibanes.
Nah, KLK just feels watered down to me. I've rewatched TTGL 3 times and FLCL god knows how many times, but could barely get through the first episode of KLK a while back since it seemed so redundant. If I want some Imaishi pondering, I can go to episode 19 or 26 of TTGL, if I want humanized characters I can go to FLCL, if I just want dumb creative fun I can go to Dead Leaves.
