jcafe still ded?
It's been 2 weeks.
Raws still not out
Ripper user still dead
I've only translated first 7 sample pages.
What do you guys think about waifu2x?
Kinda shitty but acceptable if you aren't overdoing it like 90% scanlators do. I used it to pump 880 px pages to 1200 px and no one noticed.
My GW break is ending, oh no.
No one should use it for manga and I hope is baiting.
>Ripper user still dead
Who got to him?
>neither jraw nor lhscans have raws from やる気なし臨時FJ1SJO6883
what a bunch of retards
>Mangadex dies again
Why is it being DDoS'd all the time?
probably shitty ad infested aggregator sites loosing market share
others keep trying to scrape its shit, presumably
Raw of what?
cumming diamond
Young Magazine? I don't have that. Tough luck.

What is this guy talking about? Some secret IRC channels?
As far as I can tell he's talking out of his ass.
I don't get it
Monthly Young Magazine yeah
>start marathoning translations to catch up with raws
>put out ~20,000 words in two days
feels good to be productive
Anything you want?
yosh yosh
sorry for the retarded question but before i go with the lazy option i thought i might as well ask here. How do i make this text 3 dimensional-ish to match the outline of the sign it's supposed to be in? The warping options don't seem to be correct. Seems like a pretty straightforward thing considering that word 2003 was able to do that but i can't seem to find it.
here's the thing in moon
Since we are here, is any of you fucks working on Uzaki chan
I can't remember what it's called, but there is a perspective tool, for layers in general, not just text.
ctrl+t, skew
>Ripper user still dead
Try contacting him at his email.
I've been procrastinating on the doujins/eromanga I should be working on. I've got like 5 projects going that only have the first 2-15 pages done. I need to just spend my entire day off tomorrow on translations instead of getting drunk and crying over shitty nakige.
thanks, that's it
can't you just go into free transform and ctrl+click drag?
The group what used to do it are having a bit of a situation, sit tight.
Don't forget to convert to shape first, so the font remains sharp.
I didn't know about this myself. Thanks.
Is that necessary? I never noticed it doing anything weird to text represented as text.
If you want to avoid making the font look blurry after distorting it, yeah, it is. It's not a problem if you're using simple distortions like Skew, but if you need to use Perspective it becomes necessary.
Oh shit damn

Hopefully you're still here
Been waiting for 3 months.
I emailed him every month for magazine rip just in case he's revived, but still no reply.
No. He’s just pretending.
is that yours or publicly shared Share link that will get scraped to DDL sites anyway?
>x1400 half MB jpg
I guess it's the latter.
A private circlejerk of people scanning things for themselves sounds believable, but scanlating something for limited audience is retarded.
I just downloaded it from Share, the DDL sites are pretty slow to reupload these, so if you want quick raws from that guy, just learn how to use it. According to keydb.telegrip.info this file was uploaded on April 26th.
>April 26th
Damn that was long time ago.
It's usually uploaded to DDL sites after around 1 week after the release date (every 20th), but now it's already 2 weeks and nothing yet.
Can you look the upload dates for Champion RED too? That one takes 3 weeks on average.
What's the point of share if he resizes and damages the quality as well? One user mentioned that what you posted is 1400px.
There's no other choice.
Most scanlators that aren't donation beggars are too stingy to buy a magazine just for a single chapter.
If you want good quality, you have to either buy it yourself, ask ripper user, ask discord guy, or BE the ripper user.
Please don't use brackets just because they appear in the raw. Use bold or bold and italic.
The sad part is that most scanlation groups get more than enough money from ads alone, no point to include donations to that, and they still use those stupid 1400px up/downscales from share and public sites.
I do buy my own raw since I can get it whenever I want and I know that they're not butchered. They're extremely cheap after all, which is why I simply can't fathom the greed of these groups.
You underestimate autism. It's not scan related but I know tons of "creators" in the Japanese/Chinese vidya scene (especially fucking MUGEN) that do this type of shit.
I don't think he resizes from ebook raws because he uploads magazines like Harta where they don't exist so all his shit is scanned. The low resolution is because Japan is retarded like that.
>most
Most scanlation groups aren't established money beggars. Only the bigger ones are like that.
And we're talking about buying Magazine raws, not Tankobon..
It's understandable that nobody would spend $6 from their own pocket money just for a single chapter.
Monthly Young Magazine is 1600.
Champion Red is 1200.
Go ahead and check what he uploaded.
Do I have to use photoshop?
You can use anything you want if the results are good.
Is that the new one? from this month?
It hasn't even been a week yet.
Why does it take 3 fucking weeks for DDL sites to scrap those!?
and I forgot that Jinrouki is on break this month
Yes, I was talking about magazines and not tanks as well.
Well, pretty stupid that they don't get together and share them between themselves.
On the other hand, seeing how mental scanlators are, it's understandable that such things don't happen.
public rip for Champion RED is x1400
Young Magazine is x1400 (native res is x1600 I think)
Orchesc/a/ns still makes the credit pages in Sibelius for the shits and giggles.
Or quotation marks, since that's what they are. Well, maybe not in this case, but in general it works.
See what I mean?
Champion Red was upscaled and Young Magazine was downscaled.
Both resaved as JPEGs.
Champion Red release was Mai 1.
my fucking sides.
I'm a solo worker, so I have my excuse for being stingy.
native res for RED is x1200?
Yes.
for fucks sake, champion. their weekly magazine also got shitty res.
>scanlating for some ret/a/rds for free
cucks
i know hoarding, paywall/donation shit and sniping has always caused autistic wars but fucking hell
I'm trying to provide temporary quick translations for Drifters since the regular group is pretty behind right now. I'm pretty shit as a cleaner and I don't want to invest a ton of time in it, because the scans are just meant to let people keep up with what's happening in the series.
Here's the usual group's work:

Here's my work:

People forgot Share even exists.
His Young Magazine is 1400, as well as RED and Harta. Though RED looks like a digital raw because of the blur and aliasing. Maybe he just screencaps and doesn't know how to rip. It's not like you have much choice because he's the only public source for RED, even DDL sites have these raws.
Funny how all h-manga magazines get ripped, but not regular ones. Everything went down to shit after the haruka fiasco.
>wuxia translators
Not even once. If I ever pick up interest in reading this genre I'm glad to be a chink so I don't have to rely on this bullshit.
looks good, why not just upload it to mangadex or some aggregator to spread it out? Doubt many people will see it this way
Please make a step by step tutorial for downloading these raws from Share.
You're a chink and you can't tell the difference beetween china and korea?
Volcanic age is a manwha.
>looks good
Thanks. And I'm shocked. I always think my cleaning looks subpar. My cleaning method is very quick and I use paint.net with the G'MIC-Qt plugin.
>why not just upload it to mangadex or some aggregator to spread it out?
Is it okay for me to do that? I don't want to annoy the other group or cause them to drop the series. When Drifters started it had multiple teams working on it, then it dropped clear down to one group that's pretty slow.
Trash is mostly a wuxia group iirc. That type of stuff is rampant in that community.
>Is it okay for me to do that?
Stop being a faggot and do it, who cares if they get mad, they don't own shit.
Just put a credit page and say something like "I did this chapter for fun and won't continue, bye"
Hit and run if you don't want to commit into scanlating the series from now on.
"pretty slow" is a nice description of 2+ months for a ~15 page chapter without much text. There is the risk of them dropping it, so if you don't intend to continue it take that into consideration. There's also the chance of them getting their shit together.
You could also just write them a PM and ask them about the current state of it if you want to be really nice. But yes, of course you can do so. Their own fault if they need so much time. I never read that manga but it seems reasonably popular so you'd make quite a lot of people happy
>you'd make quite a lot of people happy
The thing I think people are happiest about is that I don't give Toyohisa an accent. Some of the people that have seen my translations have told me this.
The major problem people encounter with Share is being unable to forward ports. First of all, you need to make sure the port you're going to use is forwarded on your router. It doesn't really matter which one it is, as long as it's not in use by other software, use 8999 or whatever. Setting up the forwarding is different depending on the device so I can't help you much there. Just make sure you know the IP of your PC in your local network and use the same internal and external port number. If you're getting a port error in Share log it means it's not forwarded.
If you are connectable when using torrents then your router supports UPnP which means you can use something like UPnP Port Mapper if you can't change the router settings.
Download Share here: arcturus.su
English translation is here, replace locale.txt: d-addicts.com
For Windows 8 and above, you need to use this loader, copy to the Share folder and run ShareLoader.exe: nyaa.si
>2+ months for a ~15 page chapter without much text.
It took them 6 months after it was released to get out an 18 page chapter.
After launching Share, go to Settings -> General Settings -> Network - set up the port number you forwarded. Also, don't disconnect slow uploads and downloads and go to the Quota tab to disable the quota.
Next, close the settings and go to the Folders tab, add the cache folder - just make an empty folder inside Share folder and point the setting to it, do the same for the upload folder and also add a download folder where your files are going to be saved.
Then go to pckldg.com
Go to Settings -> Clustes and add some cluster keywords like 一般コミック, アニメ, 同人誌, 成年コミック, whatever else interests you, also mark the checkboxes.
Go check the Log tab for the port error. If there's one, try restarting, if it's still there, you need to check the port forwarding.
If there's no error, you're ready to go. You can search for files using the Keyword field, but Share doesn't register all files on the network, only from nodes you currently see. It's better to use the trigger tab - add a new trigger and Share will add all files matching your criteria to your downloads once they are encountered. For example settting up a trigger with keyword チャンピオンRED 2019 06 and unchecking "Delete matching query triggers" will add all files with these keywords.
>forwarded
Ah, yes. I tried using Share long ago and I couldn't even pass this stage, so I just gave up and uninstalled it.
doesn't sound like they're doing anything about this at all then. A chapter like that is less than 8 hours of work and they're probably splitting the work between multiple people
AnimeAce Scans is mostly the work of two people. Animeace does all the cleaning, redrawing, and typesetting. JSHAF is the translator and editor. They have a raw provider and a few people that do a bit of QC, which is probably just a beta reader or two.
There's an UPnP plugin that should forward automatically but it just crashes for me.
arcturus.su
didn't know that. Still, a short chapter isn't much work. I don't know what else they're doing but when you just leave stuff in limbo like that you can't really complain when someone else uploads a few chapters of it. If there's gonna be a ton of waiting until the next chapter's ready they could at least put a note on the end to say so
Since chapter 76 just came out in Japan, how about I finish that and just upload all 3 finished chapters at once?
sounds good. If you don't intend to continue it just stick a note to the end of the last chapter that this is a one off thing
I have THIRTEEN full chapters complete. Including 4komas and extras.
The RAWS are ALREADY PROVIDED, in HIGH QUALITY, and available.
I've tailored the scripts to be easily placed, easily set for sizing and emphasis, allllll should be a simple thing.
But I'm still waiting on a dude who, apparently, has to clean&redraw and a typesetter to actually do it.
I love having it done, but it's frustrating the enthusiasm doesn't seem to be shared.
It's more of a "as long as I have the time" kind of thing. But honestly, Drifters chapters are pretty short. And they usually come out irregularly, maybe every 2-3 months. I doubt keeping up with it would be very difficult even as a one-person team.
Hirano releasing 75 and 76 only a month apart is probably a fluke, since this month's issue is the magazine's 40th anniversary. But even if Hirano picked up the pace the manga is short enough to easily translate a chapter within a month.
replace them. Cleaning and typesetting is easy, redrawing is too for most manga
so just continue it then. Don't know what you want to hear. Worst case is you making a lot of readers happy and someone having an unjustified fit of rage because the shit he didn't touch for months got picked up by someone that actually cares
I strongly feel that we are being punished
bro
>Why is it being DDoS'd all the time?
Other sites can do tricky things to steal its bandwidth, scrape it for resale, or simply harm a competitor that is taking away viewers from their manga site full of advertising or malware. It wouldn't be unknown for IP holders to hire ddos'ers as that has happened before.
>A private circlejerk of people scanning things for themselves sounds believable
There's lots of groups of people doing this shit. They're sick of jerks so they keep to themselves. Some private groups have a shitton of members.
gonna need a really good redrawer or a really wide stroke. The latter was a joke but with shit like that and 95% of readers probably not caring if you typeset in red comic sans without cleaning and redrawing I'd be really tempted to just say fuck it and take the easy route
who cares about redraws shit. It's a waste of time and effort.
As a TL and other fan, I can say "FUCK redrawing if it means MONTHS go by without anything getting released!"
Seriously. FUCK redrawing if suddenly you're 5 months behind the raws for NO REASON, because 100% of everything is available to you, you just don't want to do it.
Then. Fucking. Don't.
Hell, you can just put the translation on the side page and leave the Japanese text right there UNTOUCHED. Shit, I'll take that just as much!! GIVE ME A PRODUCT TO READ!
>paywall/donation shit and sniping has always caused autistic wars but fucking hell
There can be a lot of money. Look at the official company China Novel / QTidian which makes a lot of profit selling those stones to unlock chapters. They use fan translators and pay them a fee. They used to recruit translators from Gravitytales. Eventually, they bought up Gravitytales website and then dried up rewards to the translators to get them to go over to china novels to translate works.
Rather than one emerald for a chapter, you can imagine 8 treasure stones to unlock one set of 210 words. ouch. Naturally, you can buy lots of stones from the site.
>chinks managed to turn fan translations into a gacha scam program
What's the font you're using?
Anyone have a manga-one ripper? I can easily intercept the traffic and get the URLs for the "high" quality images but that's a pain in the ass.
Do you mean the millions upon millions they aren't getting from ad money isn't enough? Say it ain't so!!
CC wild words. I thought that was pretty much the Arial of scanlation these days
Nah, it isn't the IP holders, I am sure it is the chinks who own all those malware sites. Mangadex's existence has greatly lowered traffic on all those sites, which is millions of dollars being lost.
If someone created a site that took millions of ad dollars away from you, you would try to destroy that site, but hook, or by crook.
Someone needs to scanlate that manga about animals with human faces. I forgot it's name since I haven't read it in so long, but I remember ot had over 100+ chapters in raws.
i think you're overestimating how much money you can make with ads
be the change you want to see
People have run the numbers, kissmanga is definitely in the millions per year.
Ah yes I remembered after I hit post. It's called Jinmen. Pretty eerie to be honest. If I knew nip I'd translate but I don't think I can learn nip for at least another year.
Most everyone has adblockers, noscript, ghostery, or any other browser addons that disable the tracking the Advertising companies use. So even if you can see part or all of the advertising, the site still makes no money because you are running the adblocker or tracking software blocker or noscript javascript blocker.
It's why for some scanlator sites, I deliberately disable my highly prized noscript, ghostery, and other blockers just so they can get a pittance. Sometimes, I will even click on the ads since I know some ad companies don't really pay unless someone does a clickthrough.
>Do you mean the millions upon millions
The ones that really make money more than just covering the cost of the website would be the Patreon scanlators. But you can see up front that many are open about how much they make. At Gravitytales, there are a few scanlators that refuse to go to QT / China Novel / etc just to have readers pay up stones to see a Premium-rated story. So they stick on Gravitytales where you and I can still read for free. Some keep on translating for no reward while others use Patreon. One team of two (TL, editor) gets approx $2,000 USD/month from their Patreon supporters and that keeps the Age of Adepts stories coming. But clearly, they could go to china novel and charge a pile of those gem stones for each chapter.
Before you knock that china novel, some make $4,000 per month. So the chinese are doing well since it's hard to imagine they'd pay out $4K if they weren't keeping the vast majority for themselves. The site has many millions of hits per week. So you can imagine the vast number of costly stones in Float or Redemption at the site. Sure, you can earn stones without paying, but in reality, you'll get so few that it's just a technicality to avoid the site being accused of being purely a paywall site.
I'm glad some scanlators are proud and egotistical enough to refuse to go to QT to make a ton of money.
Pretty much, and their anti-adblocking and noscript ban wave dropped a huge chunk of their traffic. They just wanted you to turn off adblocking and no script, they didn't want you to choose an alternative like the dex.
That's why they and their counterparts are going DDoS crazy on MD. They are hoping that people would be pissed off enough to come back.
>If someone created a site that took millions of ad dollars away from you, you would try to destroy that site, but hook, or by crook.
There are actually chinese companies that work for hire in DDOS, or mass voting (upvoting, downvoting), or posting opinions in forums, twitter, product sites, etc. So it's not just the Chinese government running its internet water army for political purposes.
which is pretty unlikely considering that not being an ad and maleware infested piece of shit isn't the only advantage mangadex offers. Since they got their cloudflare plan back on track they should be doing fine and the userbase is large enough to keep the site funded
How do you get downloads to start? After setting up triggers a bunch of files popped up in downloads but none of them are downloading.
Check in the log if you've got ports forwarded properly.
I was shocked by how malware-ridden Kissmanga was and how people are so dependent on it. I wonder how many users of Kissmanga have malware on their computers to DDoS Mangadex.
>I was shocked
I'm more shocked by retards defending that site and even disabling their blockers. Like how fucking retarded you need to be to defend a site that fucks you in the ass.
Of course user, my number one rule is if a website bans of blocks Adblockers, they are probably sketchy as fuck. There are a million fish in the sea.
People who still do that site, disable ad blockers, and defend it are idiots. I want to know who they are because I have a bridge to sell them.
>chinese cultivation crap and gook shit chicken scratch comic
Disgusting
Why there are so much drama with these cheap webcomic? what's wrong with chink/gookboo?
>There are a million fish in the sea.
Not if those fish are poisoned by ddos from the chinese sites wanting to make money.
>Not if those fish are poisoned by ddos from the chinese sites wanting to make money.
Fuck, that was pretty funny. Good one user!
That gundam guy begging for donations is shockingly bad
>Not if those fish are poisoned by ddos from the chinese sites wanting to make money
The thing is that china novel reports competing sites for DMCA violations. That eliminates competition right away. So it makes man of their items sole-source except at private sites that china novel doesn't know about or their white knight spies gain entry to.
>The thing is that china novel reports competing sites for DMCA violations. That eliminates competition right away. So it makes man of their items sole-source except at private sites that china novel doesn't know about or their white knight spies gain entry to.
Holy shit, you can't make this up.
Damn....
If it's so effective, why don't others do the same thing to them? Or are they legal? Don't know shit about the chink scene.
Any taiwanese here who can tell me if there's any other chinese forum for raw manga than moeshare?
Yeah it's called buying it why what you look for
Buying? What is that? Is it a torrent site?
Then intercept the manga page too? It’s all clear text
