Inoue has stated before that if he's forced to work when he doesn't have any inspiration or motivation, his work turns into a nosedive. He explained he was trudging through the farming arc and he didn't feel anything drawing it. I expect this batch of release will be garbage as well, since he's being forced to continue Real due to the paralympics being hosted in Japan.

He draws new Vagabond content all the time. Art exhibitions, subway art, even overseas when he's invited to art shows. He likes the characters but he's not inspired enough to finish the story.
I like Inoue as much as the next guy, but he's had enough money and he can go back to drawing sketches of Japanese basketball players since he's had enough of being a mangaka. I wish him all the best.
