Let's be honest though. If it stayed a Slice of Life no one would have remembered it.
If it started as a power rangers like knockoff from the beginning all the way through, no one would remember it either.
The only reason it blew up is because it started a slice of life, then like 8 episodes in at the end of an episode they had a man turn into a giant fucking gorilla with a guillotine and start killing cops.
Nothing else about that show stood out that much.
