Went looking for some ecchi manga and somehow found a manga about an anaesthesiologist. A bit more drama and comedy than real theatres but pretty good though it's no Cells at Work as far as being educational
Anaesthesiologist Hana
>that fucking hand in the first panel
A temporary blip the art is pretty decent most of the time
That's oddly specific. Got some more pages to show us?
sure but it's slice of life
Kinda annoyed that there don't seem to be any ODPs or Anaesthetic Nurses but that might just be how it is in Japan
>Anaesthesiologist
Christ what a weird specialty. I get that it's a vital part of surgery, but imagine going through all of medschool plus the extra years so you can sit down and brows your phone for hours on end unless the patient has a complication.
>you can sit down and brows your phone for hours on end
Think about where you are.
20% of anons probably don't even have real computers anymore.
If your anaesthetist doesn't have time to do the crossword or browse his phone then either that's an incredibly sick patient or they're a bad anaesthetist. 3rd option is the surgery is too quick for them to have time
Anyway Anaesthesia should be a lot of action at the start, no action during the procedure and a gentle process at the end
Fucking phoneposters man.
I've heard it's actually the most nerve-wracking job ever. If you get the dosage wrong, patient dies; and the dosage is individual and generally cannot be induced from body params easily, so you have to experiment. One time I went under the general anesthesia, surgeon complained that I was still twitching under the knife and the anesthesiologist had to add stuff. Woke up feeling full well that I've been poisoned almost to death.
Imagine dealing with that kind of shit on a daily basis. Heard they are getting very good salaries, but often drink himself to death prematurely.
>surgeon complained that I was still twitching under the knife and the anesthesiologist had to add stuff
Did they tell you later or were you still awake for that part
The rising obesity rates are also making their jobs even worse, because it's much harder to calculate the right dose of anesthesia for people with a lot of fat tissue.
the problem is the salary is good if you stick to your contracted hours but practically none of them do that unless they are right bastards and you don't become an Anaesthetist if you're one of them.
As for how you felt post op are you sure it wasn't just post operative nausea and vomiting. If they gave you more muscle relaxant or propofol the worst you could expect was some lingering muscle paralysis even when you'd woken up and having to be reminded to breathe with the risk of reintubation for both
I had several operations some of them in childhood and the worst one was hallucinations, drowsiness, confusion and probably other shit I don't remember well.
Sounds like the Anesthetist might have used Ketamine (to induce anaesthesia) which can hallucinations and probably gave you some doxapram because you were taking your sweet time breathing when they woke you up which can cause confusion.
I don't know, but I certainly don't remember anything.
I guess I was a contributor to that. Was a somewhat fat kid.
Nausea and vomiting - yes, there was that, but there was also some serious weakness. I remember not being able to lift eyelids and just hearing stuff; then after a while I could see, but not move. Took me a couple of days to become able to take a piss on my own. Don't remember any breathing problems, strangely.
Cells at work was pretty shit at educating, this is already way better.
Also, I'm really into that short-haired, big-boobed anaesthesiologist.
I'm more into the Professor
Theres also manga about a young x-ray diagnostologist prodigy but i honestly dont remember the name
The plots not bad though
