Deku is like a trust-fund baby or a gold-digging thot.
He never made any of that money. He only uses it from time to time (that's his only contribution), but once he inherits it he gets to reap all the benefits without earning any of it because he's associated with the guy or people who built that wealth.
But it was given to him by a guy in the best position to judge who deserved the power. It's not like he didn't do anything, he jumped through all kinds of hoops.
It's like a CEO being so impressed by your performance that he says:
> "Look, I was badly worried about choosing a successor. But you know? You're it. I can step down now, knowing you'll be able to handle things."
Gabriel Thomas
>But it was given to him by a guy in the best position to judge who deserved the power. Like how people born into money was given money they didn't earn by rich guys on a whim? Like a literal Sugar Baby?
Gabriel Sullivan
But All-Might wasn't born into power, either. He went through all kinds of shit to inherit OfA. It's deliberately misunderstanding the metaphor.
Joseph Kelly
>it's okay for the rich to inherit riches they didn't earn generation after generation
Yeah, way to go, Rockefeller.
Luke Gonzalez
At least the heir of OfA is chosen due to merit, not birth
Ethan Powell
So if you had children you would not give your hard earned money to them when you died?
Nathan Parker
MY WISHING ENERGY
Jordan Williams
no, I'd also throw them off a cliff
Daniel Myers
Fuck off pinko, people can do what they want with their money.
Adrian Sanchez
> I'd also throw them off a cliff Good. That way your shitty genes won't get passed on further.
Hudson Sanchez
>>Eversince, his character is constantly driven by the anxiety to prove himself >>Pushes body to early onset arthritis, hospitalization, vigilantism - and still can't get over the insecurity that he's holding a mantle way too big for him. You sound as if you would gladly take his deal. Would you?
>not making as many kids as possible with multiple genetically superior women >not leaving them all at the bottom of society and have them each climb up individually >not crowning the most successful one as your true heir faggot
James Sullivan
>merit If by merit you mean completely by the whim of the current holder, then he's no better than an old guy looking for a Sugar Baby.
Jeremiah Morris
Superior genes climb out and toss you off the cliff when they're older, preferably after a tournament
Ayden Green
Out of all the things All Might, Izuku or any of the successors might do with the power, what did they do?
Did they use it to abuse others? To make themselves feel superior? Did they do it for personal gain?
No.
They did it to help others. They know what its like to be powerless. And in All Might's and Deku's case, being anomalies in a world of superpowers. So they fight as hard as they can time and again for the sake of others.
After all. What was that quote about power and responsibility?
Seriously, imagine getting mad at someone using their gifts and resources to give help to those who need it.
Adam Phillips
this but unironically, Mob is everything Deku could've been if Hori wasn't a shit writer
Chase Peterson
Bit of a false equivalence, don't you think? It was a judgement based on character and determination based on All Light's observations and Midoriya's actions.
Xavier Watson
How should it be decided, if not by merit? It was going to happen one way or another, since that's the nature of the quirk.
Lucas Butler
Fuck if we're going to bring "merit" into this.
Technically everybody with a quirk got theirs by luck and/or who their parents were.
Julian Cooper
We can actually go further.
Almost every goddamn superhero who has a special power didn't "earn" those powers and through circumstances lucked into them.
Easton Jenkins
t. someone who has never worked a job outside fast food a day in his life.
Cooper King
Reading this thread you can see how much capeshit ruined mhafags. They're lost causes.
He literally risked his life without having a quirk to save his friend and impressed all might so much he decide to name him as his successor, how did he not earn it?
Gavin Lopez
They are litterally the opposite
Samuel Taylor
If Uraraka needs money to help with her dad's business so much, imagine how much she could charge Bakugo for the chance to cuck Deku
