i hate emporio

why?

the entire final act of stone ocean is literally just emporio screaming while pucci follows him around and spouts retarded philosophy over the screaming noises

not the guy but personally I thought he was kind of a non-character, who I mostly remember for being able to get one in on Pucci

Araki really should have added more to Emporio's 'Pucci melted my mom lol' story

I think it literally just got one throwaway scene

>Yellow Slits

Attached: 1555033755343.png (797x1215, 1.85M)

The entire Stone Ocean crew besides Jolyne is bad. Hermes is underutilized, FF is annoynig, Annasui is unlikable, Weather Report is a fucking psycho, and Emporio is a non-character.

FF is fun, the problem is that the whole "alien becoming human" and " i am my memories " shit never goes anywhere and she just dies.

Attached: 4fouwm5p5gzby57sisydaxk72prlxzqx_hq.jpg (960x540, 28K)

Probably Jobin. He’s got the fruit tree and a personal stake in it that isn’t “Hurr durr fuck over humans for monies”.

if there's no mickey, this shit ain't stone ocean

Weather Report is arguably the only good one, since pre-memory return WR is classically cool, like Jotaro, while post-memory return WR is an absolute madman, but pretty fun and his fight with Pucci was badass.

part 3.
now leave.

Oh right, I forgot that Araki made Stone Ocean /fa/ as fuck.

Yeah, it’s neat, but loses its charm after a while. Don’t listen to Hamonfags that will tell you otherwise.

After Part 5, how did Araki drop the ball so fucking hard with Stone Ocean? I guess Jolyne being a far better JoJo than Giorno was the tradeoff, sure, but everything else feels like an odd step backwards. The fights are lamer, the side characters are cool on paper but many of them are underdeveloped and unutilized, it introduces some of the most boring and downright stupid Stands in the series, and the plot is kind of all over the place.

>Has anyone else thought about why Mista destroying The Rolling Stones led to three deaths instead of one? The way I see it is that The Rolling Stones predicted a future where Mista never intervened and Bucciarati would have gone to Giorno sooner. However, due to the difference in time period, Bucciarati and Giorno would have never come upon that drug-addicted kid that led to Giorno taking mercy on Bucciarati, and as a result, Bucciarati more than likely would have been killed. However, since Mista intervened, Bucciarati and Giorno fought at just the right time to find this kid, but as a result, their ultimate fate was changed, leading to the battle with Diavolo that got Abbacchio and Narancia killed with Bucciarati as well.

I like this theory

Attached: image.png (403x449, 470K)

I think part 6 focused too much on the stands being really wacky and convoluted.

I actually thought the plot was pretty straight forward, with Pucci needing Jotaro’s memories to attain heaven and whatnot. I do agree that some stand fights were abysmal though, and that the couple of decent ones barely made up for the few horrible ones

Ok so, there are oly 10 episodes left of Golden Wind anime. when does it become good?
Everyone online praise Part 5 like the best JoJo part ever, but for now, its one of the worst, way below Part 4.
It's just a worse version of Part 3, its all a trip to point A to B filled with fight after fight, with no actual plot(Golden Wind even dropped all the Jotaro and Koichi plotline at the beginning. But in case of Part 5, there are no chemistry in characters and no character development, half of them are retarded mpulsive kids and the other half are stoic high IQ assholes.
Also Giorno gain new powers every couple of episodes and some old powers are compeltely forgotten with no return and the main villain power is a total mess of inconsistency and "im just OP and you cant kill me because reason".
How shoild i care about those two when they literally win or lose because the story need s, and because of that a new rule appear to make them do that?

Jomarcus Johnson Joestar Washington Jones

His stand Welfare Cadillac

It'd be either brilliant or a shitshow, knowing the Japanese's thoughts on race.
Extreme shitposting no matter what happens.

araki doesnt really gives a shit about the character's skin color anyways

There won't be a part 9

Pros:
>Jolyne is a top 4 JoJo
>Pucci is one of the greatest main villains in the series
>Weather Report, FF and Anasui are good supporting characters
>The best final battle of the original universe
>The final act (Bohemian Rhapsody-onwards) is brilliant

Cons:
>Fights are a step down from VA
>Araki wants to revolutionize the story in a seinen and philosophical direction, yet still clings on to the same shounen tropes he helped invent (abandoning/subverting them in SBR is what made it a masterpiece)
>Ermes is the worst JoBro; her character development is relegated to one arc and she's absent for half the story (and I disliked her, which I can't say about any other non-minor antagonist character Araki has written)
>Worst setting of all parts and I doubt too many would disagree
>Most minor antagonists are one-note and simply there to beat the shit out of (much like PB and SDC), which sticks out like a sore thumb because VA, SBR and JJL have the greatest minor antagonists

Agree, he's the only non retarded member of the team other that GiorGary Stu.
Maybe people hate Abbacchio because they love dumb raging kids in their anime, like all the other popular shonen out there.

>dropped all the Jotaro and Koichi plotline
Koichi confirmed that Giorno isn't a villain and Jotaro said ok

I hope we get a trans pozzed bigendered JoJo protagonist. I think it's time, don't you think, sisters?

>Everyone online praise Part 5 like the best JoJo part ever
No they don't. People in these threads have been telling you it isn't very good since before the anime started.

It's all downhill from here. If you didn't like what we've seen so far you probably just don't like Part 5.

How would you rank the JoJos on pure intelligence? For me, it probably goes
>Gappy*
>Giorno

Everything else sounded pretty sane and agreeable, so it's a shame that these points have proven you're completely fucking retarded.

why the fuck do people even think there will be a part 9? araki is already almost 60.

People have been saying this shit for months.

I hope araki makes a new noncanon series where he just makes stand battles between all already created characters. It'd be fun seeing certain matchups like hol horse vs mista or DIO vs diavolo

Araki's capable of writing shorter things. Look at the Rohan one-shots. I've said before that I think it would be cool if after JJL's over Araki focuses on writing ~1 year long stories (10-12 chapters) just so he doesn't get stuck dying or needing to retire in the middle of a long series.

Almost like people have different opinions

>/ourgirl/

Attached: 12742655654.gif (345x384, 710K)

What's Giorno development untill now? Narancia? Msita? Abbacchio? Fugo even left the team.
the only one that seems to have developed something is Bucciarati. Even Trish developed way more than the main cast, and she appeared in 15 less episodes and in 10 of them she doesnt even speak.

Also tell me what's the plot is other than "i want to kill the boss and become the new boss", because all that's appening is the boss making them bring Trish to them and some killers wanted to kll them to get Trish to kill the boss themself. There is something i miss?
What's the difference between this and "we need to go to egypt to kill Dio?

What the hell "developed" about the characters in the previous parts? Stardust Crusaders' cast was static as shit, unless you do some mental gymnastics to insist Jotaro changed over the course of SC, when all it was was just him being placed in more dangerous situations and showing sides of him. Everyone else was painfully static. Part 4 has the similar issue albeit with more dynamic personalities, though Koichi changed. Saying Part 5 has "no character development" is completely backwards and retarded in a series where that was never the focus. We get moments of the characters moving past certain hardships, like Narancia making his own decision to go after Trish, and Abbacchio's closure in his death, whereas the past two parts didn't have anywhere as much as that, and handled it nowhere near as gracefully.

I'll give Part 5 the fact that its final battle and protagonist are ass compared to Part 3 but the characters as a whole somehow being worse is a completely braindead opinion.

And Jotaro wrote a thesis on dolphin sex what’s your point

>this next fight
Onestly, im a bit tired of fights at this point, all this fucking season was nothing but fights, and most of them ended with some out of nowhere asspull.

Archaeology is more complicated than marine biology

My point is that he's not too high like the person I responded to said

>Joseph

>Jotaro

>Jonathan

>Johnny

>Josuke

>Jolyne
Uneducated slut.

Attached: 15540495493.jpg (600x480, 87K)

This, sadly.

Think about it, Araki is 60. Jojolion has been running for nearly a decade. Do you really think he'll want to make an entirely new part once JJL concludes in a few years? Jojo has taken up half his life, he probably wants to retire

>Jolyne
>uneducated
Did you even read the first chapter of stone ocean?

His thesis was actually on starfish.

>Became a mafia boss at the age of 15.
Through brute force. It's not like he worked his way up to the top with his diplomacy and business skills.

What's with that fat faggot with He-Man hair?

Attached: 1553124154112.jpg (387x452, 60K)

Wouldn’t Jolyne be higher than Josuke by sole virtue of actually having completed high school?

>Saying Part 5 has "no character development" is completely backwards and retarded in a series where that was never the focus
Why dont you mention Jonatan and Joseph development? they grow alot during part 1 and 2. Also in part 3 had very little to almost no character development, but Araki at elast tried to do that, he just failed.
Part 4 has a lot of Development in almost all the characters, Josuke, Rohan, Koichi, Koichi's girlfiend, Shigechi and so on all get their development, even Kira did.
the problem is that Golden wind instead of improving what Diamond did well, it throw away all that to become a boring story with blank slate characters.

>Through brute force. It's not like he worked his way up to the top with his diplomacy and business skills.
he's a gary stu, he is made to be the most intelligent character in the story by default.

Yeah she had Tom Cruise's dick on her mind.

This so much is why part 5 is a huge letdown from 4

Part 3 is:
>Getting attacked by Dio's minions
>Mom has a virus
>We have to stop Dio
And then each Stand battle more or less contributes very little to the plot because it involves them heading to different locations and fighting a Dio Minion (they are never anything other than Dio minions) so you can safely trim them out. They're all Dio minions and there isn't anything in the way of interesting plot revelations or swerves other than "oh snap a Tarot Card minion stopped us again". Nothing behind the scenes, no plans, no reveals, nothing that shakes up the structure.

Part 5 is:
>A kid tried to attack Giorno for taking his luggage
>He killed Leaky-Eyed Luca
>Buccellati now wants to fight him for it
>Giorno beat him and now he has to pass a lighter test to oiverthrow the boss, and kills Polpo
>Because he killed Polpo, Buccellati now has Polpo's fortune, which attracts two Stand users
>Because he has Polpo's fortune, Buccellati is now the capo, and has been given the mission to escort Trish to the Boss
>Because of this mission, a new enemy gang faction known as La Squadra shows up believing Trish is the key to taking the Boss down
>They follow orders and sweep La Squadra
>Buccellati brings Trish to the boss halfway through the series, but bails at realizing he plans to kill her
>Because they have become his enemy, the Boss sends out new Stand users
>Now traitors, Buccellati's plan is to get Abbacchio to uncover Moody Blues' identity
>As a result of La Squadra being defeated, Risotto steps in to take on the Boss himself and fails
>Abbacchio dies and leaves a print of the boss' face, which later leads Polnareff to track them down
And so on and so forth. This is a plot, user. You'd have to actually be braindead to not notice how much more intricate Part 5's plot is than Part 3's, even if you believe it fails in other areas. Sure there's stretches of Stand fights but there's far more narrative things connecting them throughout.

So this was already the best part? Oh god, what a dumpster fire.

>Even Trish developed way more than the main cast.

Reviews later tonight after Game of Thrones.

How exactly is Koichi’s development bad?

is that after or before Caesar dies?

This post is terrible, all you did was describe Part 5 with more detail than 3 to make it look more complex.

>Koichi-tier
She's arguably way better even considering her lack of screentime. The thing is with Trish they actually planted the seeds of her becoming strong pretty early, in terms of her personality. She starts out a spoiled brat, but slowly her doubts and fears come to surface, and at realizing that her father was a douche, resolves to want to see him brought to justice. It was actually organic and the sequences involving her eventually lead up to Notorious B.I.G. and her developing her Stand.

Meanwhile Koichi was literally him flipping a whole personality switch every time he was put under pressure, only to revert at the end.

>How exactly is Koichi’s development bad?
He's just shitposting trying to defend his loved gary stu prettyboy.

everything in part 3 is filler except for jotaro, holly, joseph, avdol, kak, pol, iggy, hol horse, j geil, enya, ndoul, gambler darby, vanilla ice, and dio.

Alright user, I'll bite again.

The point I'm making is that Part 5 has narrative beats that flow into each other meaningfully and are interesting. Do you understand how truly limited Part 3 was in its narrative?

SC was limited in a number of ways, for example, having minions that worked ENTIRELY under the service of the main villain, and having very few strong "sub-goals" in the story. Every story should have sub-goals, that get resolved in order for the characters to achieve their main goal. Part 3's main sub-goal seems to be "find out the secret of Dio's stand", though they don't achieve that until the end. There's definitely some narrative-mixing moments, like Avdol's death (and rebirth), and Kakyoin getting blinded, but the progression does not actually change other than there being a new location to go to, and a new Stand user to stop them.

Part 5 does something similarly, but immediately works because everything in the narrative links to one another. The only reason Risotto attacked Boss is because the rest of his gang was brought down by Buccellati - which was only because they were attracted to him for having Trish - and he only had Trish because he had become a capo - directly resultant of Giorno killing Polpo, which allowed him to inherit the money. Do you see how everything is intertwined that way?

Part 3, however, you could take away many of the fights in the part, and because they don't have any "linking" outside of "if the characters died earlier then this fight wouldn't happen", they are ultimately inconsequential. Rare examples do exist and lie in the arcs featuring Hol Horse however, as he's a recurring character.

Again, I acknowledge Part 5 has many flaws but its narrative structure is very functional and a definitely step forward from Araki compared to SC.

By being a stu

You sound like the normie here.

>Maiden Heaven
Unironically the best name change

Attached: somewhere-in-time-1.jpg (1080x720, 356K)

What chapter are you on? He basically becomes Giorno 2.0 after he finds out who he is.

Part 3 is the part that introduces the concept of stands to the reader. Every fight in Part 3 serves to further explain and develop the various mechanics of stands and showcase their variations. Since every part after part 3 features stands, Part 3 is actually the part with the least amount of filler because every fight is vital to the entire series.

Nah, If you are going to do one thing, it is better to do it well
Also, i think that Narancia and Abbacchio have a little development, I like it more than developing a character that barely speaks and develops too quickly in just one episode.

>Considering her lack of screentime.
THAT'S THE PROBLEM. How the fuck did you develop a main character that was only useful to move the plot? I think Koichi development was better, yeah, just was "I was a coward but now I'm brave" but at least we saw him enough on screen to believe that his development is credible.

>Do you understand how truly limited Part 3 was in its narrative?
The whole narrative of part 3 is not different than part 5, its just more barebone, but in the end the focus of both series is "we have to kill the big bad boss" from the beginning, part 5 has only a cuple of more random stuff appening in between, but it had nothing to the big plot, the end goal and how to reach it rest the same from th start to the end.

..That doesn't make any sense, though. user, that makes zero sense. The fact that Koichi was on screen so much is PRECISELY why his development should have been more realistic and subtle then "agh now i'm suddenly confident". Trish's growth was subtle and planted throughout. Disproportionate to her screentime but well-handled because we get enough seeds of her personality placed that it does feel credible. We already know that she's scared of the boss, and we already do see her resolve. She has a much slower buildup than just "weak to confident" in one whole fight, whereas Koichi legit has a whole-ass manning up moment in The Lock, despite showing little such boldness beforehand. The fact that Koichi appears so much is EXACTLY why his development shouldn't be this "i flip a switch and i'm badass" shit.

I know that this is just another "why didn't Joseph just use Hermit Purple and find Kira?", but for whoever was serious. Joseph is an old man. Didn't his Hermit Purple fuck and give him a photo of Angelo when he was trying to find Josuke, which is one of the reasons why Jotaro basically showed up in the first fucking place?

>it's just more barebones
That means it's weaker, user. This whole discussion was because anti-Part5 fags wanna keep saying "uh everything about it is way worse than part 3, it has no plot compared to part 3", despite that being far from the case. Araki's not a perfect writer but his improvement is clear.

Could you honestly say that, though? I love Diamond but if anything the most complaints I've seen towards it are from it having the most "filler-y" and directionless narrative. I do think its narrative is fairly well-handled, but you do remember how much more aimless it was in the beginning, right? Yoshihiro's Stand users also led things to go back into long stretches of nothing, aswell, up until they shift focus to Hayato.

>mannish boy is a child with an adult's memory/stand disc

Anyone else have stupid fan theories like this?

The sub goals in Part 5 are just distractions from the plot, they don't add to it. Zucchero and Sale are pointless, and you could cut out the entire Hitman Team and the Guard Squad without changing anything relating to the conflict with Diavolo. You don't even need Bruno to become the capo either because Polpo would have just assigned him the mission anyway.

>Trish's growth was subtle and planted throughout.
Not really, she did not develop before her fight, she only asked herself questions about her father and then she changes abruptly. Her stand says on her face and to the reader, "Look how she developed." and Spice Girl did almost everything for her. As I said before, it is ridiculous to develop a character that barely appears. At least the development of Koichi was slower, even after that The Lock remained a coward and he lacked courage.

>characters have actual personality now
>great animation
>color to you understand what's going on in scenes better
>extra scenes
>arguably better art (gremlin narancia, etc.)
>it's weekly, so you can digest specific scenes and fights better
I hated part 5 when I first read it as well, and I'm surprised that I'm enjoying the anime so far.

The World is Jonathans stand.

This is so stupid but somehow it actually feels appropriate

My head canon was bruford being star platinum

It makes no sense because Jotaro can see and fight stands

Based

Gappy actually has emotions.

Anasui is Trish's twin

Not that user, but she just wasn't there enough. Not only is she absent for large chunks of the story, her interactions with anyone besides Jolyne and FF aren't there. It bothers the hell out of me that she cries when WR dies but I can't think of a time when they even had a conversation before. I'm also bothered by how easily she falls for Jolyne, which is a big issue I have with Giorno. But her stand is cool, it's a greats supporting character stand, which is exactly what Hermes is.

>>characters have actual personality now
Isn't this more of a symptom of having a bad translation?
>color to you understand what's going on in scenes better
Not color, but I do feel the animation really helped me to understand what the fuck was going on.

>When he dies he accepts Giorno as a member of the gang.
This is basically nothing for the second in comand of the team of protagonists.
Oneshot characters in diamond had more development than Abbacchio.

>He learns to make decisions for himself.
When that appen?

Trish's development worked for her screentime. The intrigue of a character should typically be proportional to how often they appear, so of course if they don't appear often then they should be simpler. For being a plot device she ideally didn't need more than "i'm weak but i'm confident now", but instead of getting just that one fight to show her inner strength, we had her being questioning, being bold, and showing different sides of her before that fight even happened.

Koichi remaining a coward on the other hand is terrible considering he's a main character. How is he going to get confident and smarmy during the climax of The Lock and then lose everything after the arc is over? His development isn't "slower", his moments of growth are as abrupt as ever - Araki just repeatedly rewinds them whenever the arc involving him is done. He goes from wasting Yukako to shitting himself again during SHA until Jotaro has to die for him to man up for the third fucking time. Making a character take absurd leaps, and then regressing them repeatedly in order to give the illusion of long-term growth is a horrendous development trap. For someone like Trish who barely appears, having that switch WOULD work, but Koichi, as a main character, it's simply damaging.

t. 2 IQ brainlet

I'm bothered by Hermes supposedly being Jolyne's bestie but Jolyne needed Foo Fighters to tell her why she's in prison. I hope the anime fixes that because it was lame character-wise and foreshadowing-wise.

>Jotaro can see and fight stands
Is jotaro a Stand User?

Attached: 19799777855.jpg (288x402, 76K)

Abbacchio is the most based character in Part 5.
>fun and not obnoxious personality
>amazing design
>great backstory
>stand is unique and isn't just an unga bunga me hurt you stand
>can still hold his own in a fight
>sacrifices himself to reveal the villain's weakness like kakyoin
>hates giorno

He also has some of my favorite outplays in the series. Cutting off his hand and rewinding it was great, as was tricking Illuso into grabbing Moody Blues.

>the most "filler-y" and directionless narrative
I had the same filler feel from Diamond fillers and from Goldend killer episodes, 10 episodes in a row where all that appen is some random killer trying to kill Giorno and Bruno.
But unlike Golden wind, Diamond filler were uset for character development and make you fell the min cast. Hell Shigechi appear only in fillers, but his death was hearthbreaking, while Abbacchio's death felt flat, at that point i didnt care at all for Abbacchio, he did nothing for the past 15 episodes, he barely speek since the Fugo fight, why should i feel something sof his death?

>Isn't this more of a symptom of having a bad translation?
Voice acting too, but yeah.
>Not color, but I do feel the animation really helped me to understand what the fuck was going on.
Agreed here too. Whoever is doing the directing is knocking it out of the park.

He is the best character in VA, too bad he was so much underused. Only Fugo did less than him ,and he left the series in the first half of it.

Then he undergoes typical shonen “development” and becomes a spiky haired powerhouse who everyone loves.

Part 4 had a massive problem where every other character seemed to have bipolar disorder. Consistency was non-existent and Koichi was the worst of it. Really lame writing.

>>hates giorno
He loves Giorno in the end though and was tsundere for him all along.

>Not color, but I do feel the animation really helped me to understand what the fuck was going on.
Agree, except for KC, he's still a mess of inconsistency. I waited the anime to see the fight with Bruno at Venice animated to understand wtf appened there,
Sadly, nothing changed, Bruno seeing and hitting himself still doesnt make any sense in both the manga and the anime for how KC is explained to work.

Typical development is better than Giorno's no development.

>Uneducated slut
NIGGER ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I never said anything about Giorno, but he’s an even bigger sue.

I'm glad the color scans exist because I can't imagine ever reading half of this shit in black and white

Reminder that NOT A SINGLE PART 5 STAND survived Crunchyroll's censorhships...

Attached: QUALICRIMSON.jpg (638x359, 29K)

Imagine being a zoomer that needs to read manga in color. There are some pages that are a clusterfuck but it's almost never a problem unless you're trying to speedread and don't bother to slow down and actually see what's happening on a page.

Wasn't Mr. President kept the same?

I forgot to mention: not him.

>Trish's development worked for her screentime
Not because you said it yourself:
>Character should typically be proportional to how often they appear
>If they don't appear often then they should be simpler
>For being a plot device

That's changing the personality of a character, not real development. My problem with her is that she is just a background character only useful to move the plot.

Koichi was not exactly brave in the lock, was smug because he had basically won. Then in the Yukako arc he gets more real courage and confidence but not enough, facing Yukako is not the same thing as facing kira, you know. and he was more scared because SHA had defeated a stand user like Jotaro.

Wait, not a single one?
Also, why censoring the names? Still dont understand that.

>Estrella platino
>El mundo
>El diamante loco

>D4C was infinitely more broken
From the point of view of his enemies and for the purpose of reaching his goal? absolutely.

For him as a person? not at all, D4C as a stand is not physically very strong and it doesn't offer much personal protection, and before you go and say "but user, with D4C you are immortal" then you'd be wrong, when some Valentine got mortally wounded and went to another universe, he actually died, D4C transferred their memories and itself to that universe's Valentine, and since Valentine being a hyper-nationalistic and sociopathic prick was a shared trait between all of them, they'd just act the same way for the purpose of "grabbing the first napkin". It's a pretty interesting how the antagonist in SBR is a selfless man who has a (what he believes is) a righteous and higher goal he's going to sacrifice himself for whereas the protagonist is mostly selfish.

Absolute U.N.I.T

Copyright in the west.

Well of course he isn't immortal, just essentially immortal because all of the Valentines were on board with the plan. But when he could call a squad of Valentines that were all ready for action all at once, that scene was hardcore.

His ideal was immortal (at least until he got Act 4'd) but the individual Valentines had to suffer horrendous deaths time and time again for the sake of their goal.

Doesnt KC just let bruno witness what KC himself can see too during the time

No

How did the boss know where Bruno was when he threw the scalpels at them? I thought they only knew where Aerosmith was

There was very clearly a scene where bossu noticed the entire crew, that's how he knew Abacchio was with them and that he needed to donut him.

why do all the deaths in JoJo hit so hard?
Most over the top shows you don't really care so much because you expect it to happen but in JoJo all the deaths just make me really sad, even for the villians

Because unlike other over-the-top anime, JoJo actually cares for its characters. Abacchio has enough depth to be a main protagonist but yet he's just one of five side-protags.

Blast from the Past

Not bad actually

This is stupid. It's still his blood.

King Crimson literally says right fucking here in pic related

That implies whatever he did, he doesn't normally do - so he just has the additional function to be able to let people see his own predictions (probably a sub-ability of Epitaph), and used it on Buccellati. There. Simple.

Attached: 16432749859.png (1155x720, 848K)

Yes it does. Why does blood that left Josuke count as not his anymore for Crazy Diamond, but objects that people left behind still count as theirs for Gold Experience?

It's just blatant fear of getting sued over anything. As far as I know, the only one who ever complained was Prince.

I think that one line was added in the anime, but still, I always thought it was just a way to express the feeling of skipping from point A to point B in a manga, since it's complicated to do so in that medium.

Josuke only makes this distinction between his/not his because his power has a condition where he cannot repair himself. Giorno's power instead has the condition of not working on living things.

Furthermore, whatever 'object memory' they are working off are clearly different in nature. Giorno can turn shoes into objects and have them track their owners, but Josuke obviously can't use Crazy Diamond to make a sock fly onto his owner's feet.

You're comparing apples to oranges.

>but Josuke obviously can't use Crazy Diamond to make a sock fly onto his owner's feet.

I bet he actually could if the plot called for it.

Probably but I think most people would think that's pretty BS, just like GE asspulling a new solution every fight.

Anyway, isn't the act of fixing wounds returning parts of an object to its original owner? It's more apples to green appples.

It just means that he's showing Bruno what his ability is as opposed to just smashing his head like a grape.

He'd probably tell Shinobu that Kosaku died, but leave out the part where he was killed by a serial killer who then proceeded to wear his skin and pretend to be him for months, which was the reason he started acting so different.

>Only 20% of the various stand mechanics of part 3 has been kept for the later parts
Where did you get that number?

>Stands still phase through things like they always have. That's not what Diver Down's power was.
In that case, angelo's stand wouldn't have been caught with a plastic glove or a bottle and red hot chili peppers woldn't have been caught in a tire

>There are plenty of times in the series where the user being weakened can lead to the stand also being weakened/momentarily disappearing or releasing its effect.
Yeah I also remember that time when a Jotaro and a josuke on the brink of fainting still managed to have their stands at full power to beat up killer queen. Or that time when a Diavolo so deprived of Iron that he couldn't breath anymore still managed to bring out his stands and use his ability without issue

>It is.
Examples?

Jotaro didn't have full power, the other one u r right although i personally like as a headcannon that one of crazy diamonds' abilities is to be always able to fight at full strenght regardless of the damage u have taken (hence crazy diamond is unbreakable)

So what? It still happens sometimes.

Yea, but in part 3 and 4 there was some character development and interaction between them, expetially part 4. In part 5 that is gone, there is nothing other than the weekly villain fight, no development or interaction at all.

This. I hate the lack of comedy and interaction in part 5.

That face at the end does not look like Diavolo at all. I don't get it.

What? I'd say there's a perfect amount of comedy in Part 5.

have to agree with this user, the best jockey is the lightest jockey. i'd consider the horses to be geniuses way before i would the jockey. i don't see why jockeys don't just cut off their limbs, a potato would probably be a world class jockey

Whats wrong with it being 'directionless', a story is more than its plot, and plot progression is unnecessary to a good story. The point of DIU is the interactions between characters, not the over-arching plot line.

I don't know what that means.

Missing, yes. But the body was identified as Kira's and the face was ripped off, meaning there was no way to connect him with Kosaku unless Hayato or one of the good guys told somebody.

Lowest IQ post ITT

Stand abilities have independent logic. The rules that govern GE and CD don't have to overlap. That isn't to say that Araki isn't inconsistent at times but this aint one of those cases.

Josuke threw his blood to pop kiras bomb-bubble and hit his shoulder, so i guess his dry blood counts as one entity

Remember when they renamed the Oingo Boingo Brothers to Zendatta and Mendatta. You know, a licensed album name. I love translations :)

part 5 is awesome what the fuck are you people talking about

literally the only thing i hate about this entire part so far is Giorno himself (which is ok, because he has to share the spotlight with 4 far more based characters anyway), and Fugo leaving so early

I came in expecting to hate it since people regularly trash it here but if anything it feels just as cohesive as the last part, and I appreciate Araki's tackling of heavier themes and characters.

No. Gold Experience and Crazy Diamond are different stands.
This also only applies to Josuke because he can't heal himself. If he fixed someone else's blood, it would return to their body.

Are you animeonly? If so you should know that people also hate the ending and last fight. I like it anyway but part 5s flaws are pretty apparent and some people get their enjoyment ruined by them

I'm watching the anime and reading the manga at the same time. I know most of the spoilers and I know the main details about the final fight - the very idea of it being more of a "race to get the arrow" instead of a straight-up brawl against the boss actually sounds really interesting, but I guess I'll have to see if it's as poor as people say.

because of the thing with him wishing his sister back, he learns to let go of his past mistakes/guilt i guess.

>It's not like he worked his way up to the top with his diplomacy and business skills.
He easily convinced a high level operative to take his side, helped his speedy rise to capo by cunningly getting rid of Polpo and making it look like a suicide, subverted an entire team to betray the boss mostly for their loyalty to said capo, and somehow smoothly got the top position after the boss died, even though, since no one knew the boss, who knows how the hell did he do that. It wasn't pure brute force. Also, I'm pretty sure taking over a crime lord always involves a degree of brute force.

>And then each Stand battle more or less contributes very little to the plot because it involves them heading to different locations and fighting a Dio Minion (they are never anything other than Dio minions) so you can safely trim them out. Nothing behind the scenes, no plans, no reveals, nothing that shakes up the structure.
That's true, however the relationship between the characters seems more genuine after all the shit they went up together. By the High Priestess' time, even Kakyoin is cracking jokes with Polnareff.

>stay in one place
>the bosses guard converges on top of you and kills you

Because fighting Cameo was unironically one of the most significant events of his entire life. He got to experience the bliss of wishing his sister and friend back to life only for a moment, just to have it ripped away from him the next and his wishes perverted. He was forced to let go of his guilt and anguish over the deaths of both his sister and Abdul, defeating Cameo meant a major turning point in Polnareff's motivations. It was no longer about J. Geil, it was no longer about avenging Abdul that made Polnareff want to fight Dio. It was because he now had friends who he trusted and to whom he was deeply loyal, and his grudge became entirely focused on paying Dio back for manipulating him.

Because Diavolo was still in the building

Attached: 15564088698.jpg (613x508, 68K)

You’re right, he got his position by being a Mary Sue who everyone that isn’t completely evil loves.

>You don't even need Bruno to become the capo either because Polpo would have just assigned him the mission anyway.
But he wouldn't have gotten to the point that he could see the boss' face to face. He would either hand Trish to another middle man or something like that.

>Zucchero and Sale are pointless, and you could cut out the entire Hitman Team and the Guard Squad without changing anything relating to the conflict with Diavolo.
What would be the point of guarding Trish if no one wanted to capture or harm Trish? And having Bruno just get the money without any kind of conflict would be incredibly boring. It's not like fights are totally unnecessary.

Ok, everyone who isn’t completely evil aside from one jerk.

I doubt that Notorious BIG would have been that dangerous inside the church as oppossed to the plane, where getting rid of him was harder. However, the boss has intel, and he can even feel his daughter presence (though Bruno doesn't know that, so he can't use it to bait the boss by sending Trish away and sneaking into the church with Abbacchio and maybe Giorno). If, instead of escaping Venice, they would have tried to go back to the church, Diavolo has a stupidly easy time killing them one by one and even maybe gathering better guards than those two faggots.

I'm not saying that it makes sense, just saying that it's interesting that his charisma looks like a mix of theirs.

Abbacchio just felt that Giorno was dangerous to the group, and he was proven right. Giorno was basically using them for his own dream, at least by that point, and Bruno was hiding stuff from them because of Giorno. It was his ex-cop gut instinct.

>D4C as a stand is not physically very strong

He noticed that Bruno shared the same goal than him, and didn't even got to befriend him, they merely associated together. Without the boss trying to kill his daughter, Bruno wouldn't have risked open treason. But you mindlessly hate Giorno so there's no point discussing it.

Fuck you Anasui. Jolyne x Weather is a better ship

Giorno having all this fake charisma is disgusting. A character isn't charismatic just because everyone else says they are.

Buccellati on the other hand is just so earnestly personable, confident and bold yet he has moments of weakness that just make him easier to root for. The way he talks to his gang and the way he treats them and is strong for them - that's ACTUAL charisma, I can seriously see why they follow him so much. Giorno doing something cool every other fight isn't a replacement for actually being likable.

>Jolyne x Weather is a better ship
NO

>He noticed that Bruno shared the same goal than him, and didn't even got to befriend him, they merely associated together.
A reasonable person wouldn’t have trusted Giorno at all, even if they had similar moral codes.
>But you mindlessly hate Giorno so there's no point discussing it.
Accusing anyone who criticizes Giorno of being a mindless hater is pretty mindless.

Bruno is a Gary Stu. At 20 he’s already a respected, charismatic gangster with a strong, versatile stand who is adored by the whole city and his gang. The only people who express dislike for him are villains, and even then they often begrudgingly respect him. Bruno’s only real weakness is his ‘kindness’ as listed in his personality page, which is an unconvincing and totally uninteresting flaw. He shows assholish tendencies at times but they’re mainly directed towards antagonists (who of course deserve it) or small quips like when he makes fun of Abbacchio’s arm, though the latter moments are rare and feel strangely out of place in the same way the Gangster dance does. Either way these traits get downplayed by fans who portray him as a perfect saint and gangster prince who overshadows Giorno. That’s not even mentioning his treatment in the story which involves cheating death and being escorted to heaven by literal angels.

His role in the story is also a mess. He can’t be considered a protagonist as he admits himself that he had been slowly wasting away and was only ‘resurrected’ by Giorno’s intervention. For that same reason he can’t be described as a mentor, especially because he doesn’t really teach Giorno anything significant. He fails to fit the ‘Brojo’/sidekick mould as his relationship with Giorno is not clearly defined and this role is better fulfilled by Mista, who also happens to have the most interactions with the rest of the gang; this reflects badly on Bruno who is meant to be the ‘leader’ that brought the whole group together: the only real thing you’re told is that they have respect for him. The only way Bruno can be a functional character is if he were merged with Giorno or reworked entirely.

>Giorno was basically using them for his own dream
Honestly I was hoping they would address this a little more at some point. When Giorno and Bruno stared at each other at the boat I was a little excited because Bruno hadn't displayed the same kind of vigor for killing the boss that Giorno had- it's easy to imagine that a virtuous guy like Bruno might have some reservations against straight up icing the boss he's worked under for a number of years, but Giorno obviously wouldn't have the same problems and that might be a cause for conflict.

What happened in the end with the boat was pretty good, but honestly Giorno's personality might as well not have existed, Bruno drove the entire scene. And no one ever talks about it afterwards.

i believe bruno should have died after giving giorno his blessing in front of everyone and then have giorno struggle to act as a leader for the rest of the part

I would give you one but the fact is I cant think of a different gary stu, GioGio is seriously the only character that I can recall which:
>can never make a mistake
>has limitless abilities and comes out on top in every situation
>liked by everyone except by people who are wrong about him
>has no character flaws or has only ones that make him endearing
Not only that
>Only emotion he seems to be capable of producing is surprise, he isnt even in pain after amputating his arm with a fucking broken window
And with all that, he isnt even charismatic like Jotaro, what a fucking mistake

Weather is dead inside, memories or not. I can't see him in any relationship.

Jolyne and Anasui barely have any interactions

Both pairings suck 2bh. Jolyne hardly notices Anasui and Anasui is some obsessive stalker

Remind me why Pucci and Weather got Joestar birthmarks

Attached: leave jojo to me.jpg (146x217, 9K)

The difference is, Bruno is allowed to be portrayed as an imperfect and internally conflicted human being. The way his anger gets the better of him and he lashes out at Boss even when Giorno is trying to tell him to chill - the fact that he felt a consistent apprehensiveness and an inability to do the right thing up until GIORNO comes in - these are personable traits that make him feel respectable. He's maybe only a Gary Stu in that he's extremely likable - but his actual portrayal in the story is a strong and valid one, because for his role as leader we see he has all sorts of inhibitions and emotional setbacks. A "flaw" doesn't necessarily need to be a significant personality pitfall - it just needs to be a moment of vulnerability in a character that is otherwise treated right in the story, and Buccellati has plenty of those, which feel earned.

You'll see that a lot of what he does, he ends up blaming on Giorno anyway. Surviving KC? "Thanks Giorno" And even when he goes to heaven, Araki clearly writes it as a moment that is meant to make Giorno look better, when he says that Giorno gave him life (both literally and metaphorically).

Giorno on the other hand isn't written like a human being - his acts of boldness and "charisma" feel unbelievably unearned as the rest of the gang develop an attachment to him because he used his hilariously flexible Stand to save them, or because he seems to always be able to say, do, and know the right thing. Araki even stretches GE further just so he can always be the one to do great things. Giorno's moments of vulnerability outside of fights are meaningless because the narrative and other characters never address them. He COULD have flaws, like how he's ruthless and using the gang for his own goals - but nothing is addressed. Shame, because he's a great design.

I agree for the most part on the second paragraph, though - ideally I feel like Giorno and Bruno should have been merged specifically for Giorno's sake.
