O MY GOLDEN BOOK
O MY GOLDEN BOOK
it was hype tho
Shut up zatchbell is nothing short of 100% kino
>bitching about the sole time the power of friendship was used passibly
>HxH fags trying to start shit about gash bell now
Gash was mostly good but that final arc was weak, I thought that was generally agreed on around here even?
Final arc was very good, only main villain sucked.
The power of friendship actually makes sense in this context too. The whole point of them fighting is to decide on a king so if every single demon wants Gash to be king then he gets a huge power boost to win.
Final arc was weaker than Faudo arc, but it wasn't a weak arc.
while Im glad there's no romance element in the story because manga authors can't do them well as a subplot I honestly thought shirley had a chance
but when shaman king does it gets shat on
Shaman King fell apart in a lot of other ways too
What the hell do people wanted the final arc to be? A fucking tournament arc?
Gash fighting his comrades.
Not O MY ANSWER TALKER
Did Zack bell and shaman king ever finish?
O MY HYPNOTISM
Clear Note was shit, yeah
the thing i hate the most is that the final villain is a 100% evil literally who with immense powers that the cast has to fight after Dufort powers them up.
imo you could remove the Clear Note arc, put the King's Festival in the Zeno arc, let the cast power ups through fights and MY FEELINGS moments instead of autistic genius bullshit, let them get wiped out while fighting Zeno&co, having your shounen moment where EVERYBODY GIVES YOUR POWER TO ZATCH!!! and end it with the Gash/Brago fight.
This for sure. The entire setup and buildup towards Zeno made his fight actually work. Clear felt like a final boss for the sake of a final boss. Arc itself had great moments like showing the ultimate spells of all the allies, but overall the villain just didn't work for me.
Plus he looks fucling stupid.
>Tfw this joke character could be the final boss of almost any shonen and it would work
I guess Clear would have worked if his background were more clear.
It is implied he wasnt a real demon/mamodo, he was an artificial demon created by the book gods in order to truly prove the worth of the demon race, by creating a threat so big that only the demon recognized by everyone as the true next king would be able to defeat him.
But again, it was just implication, maybe if that was clarified and if clear was given a personality.
Zatch Bell finished, with a very satisfying ending.
I have no idea what happened to Shaman King because I never read very far.
Asspull done right. Villain was already beyond broken.
Yeah, I agree. The climax is dope and the arc has a few extremely emotional moments but the bar was set way too high after the Faust arc.
Shaman King's final arc was way more dissapointing, but it still had some pretty good points.
>We are fighting against God, of course we can't just beat him in a fistfight.
I wish more shounen manga went this route.
I like the theory that Clear was a peaceful mamodo like Kolulu taken to the extreme.
>OP tries to start shit.
>Everyone calmly agrees that the last boss was weak but OP image was kino.
This is why Gashbell has the best fandom.
The first fight against Clear Note is the best part of the whole series.
Rather, Yoh could have done it and used the method he found to defeat Hao but it goes against his philosophy. So naturally the plan became convincing Hao not to kill everyone
it also helps that it happened as the climax of the series and not the 497th asspull of the hour, Answer Talker would've provided better bait for OP but even that was handled pretty well as an unapologetic asspull as a source of hype and comedy.
Gash Bell ended yeah, I thought it was good anyway. I was waiting for a while though because it was on hiatus and was just happy for more content so maybe I'm remembering it as better than it was. I enjoyed it.
SK ended as well, it was kind of interesting as an ending imo. The bad guy "wins" so to speak.
Answer talker was completely useless. The first time he uses it, he gets btfo by Dufaux who uses it better than he does. Then he loses it, and when he gets it back, it fails to answer him how to beat Clear Note.
Clear Note was a pretty generic all powerful come out of nowhere evil final villain but the arc itself has great moments and closure for the side characters
I mean sure if we skip all the times it worked and clearly helped him it's useless.
>I wish all shounen manga ended unsatisfactory
I swear the majority of you faggots are worse writers than the people you bitch about. There's a reason why all of Takei's later works failed and he came crawling back to SK before fucking that up again.
Nice designated shitposting pic
>>I wish all shounen manga ended unsatisfactory
I'll bite, what was unsatisfying about Yoh and the gang not magically becoming stronger than the guy who has been reincarnating and training in hell for 1500 years? We'd already established that using the Great Spirit to accomplish most of the Gang's goals wouldn't work, and everyone else accomplished what they wanted without needing it in the first place like Ren and Lyserg.
>what was unsatisfying about Yoh and the gang not magically becoming stronger than the guy who has been reincarnating and training in hell for 1500 years?
Them just giving up and having an asspull convince Hao not to destroy everything like he'd been built up to do. So you have an ending when essentially nothing is accomplished, the gang becomes losers with no payoff. I'm not sure what is it with SKfags thinking that was a good ending since Takei winds up retconning it in Flowers because even he realized it was a shitty way to conclude everything.
I meant that the idea of the protagonists having to work their way around how overpowered the villain is, is what's interesting. I agree with you in how the execution fell flat.
Haven't reread Gash in a while, but i'm pretty sure Answer Talker did help Kyo out a few times. It was definitely pretty worthless for the final fight, tho.
the fact that the joke duck character was literally the Aizen of his universe still is such a fucking baller move
>Them just giving up and having an asspull convince Hao not to destroy everything like he'd been built up to do.
We knew everyone's soul goes to the GS, we knew that Hao's mother was the catalyst for his rage. How is that an asspull, he even says he's just going to give humanity an extension he's not convinced himself.
>the gang becomes losers with no payoff
Ren and Lyserg are successful, horo horo became a farmer, chocolove went to hail, Ryu found his happy place.
This story constantly pointed out that shamans aren't going to be the end all be all, modernity has put them out of their social status. Everyone was where they believably would be at and they just have to keep up hope because that's how you can make a change. Through perserverence. It's bitter sweet because everyone'everyone's dreams are that much harder to achieve since godhood was out out of their reach.
>Takei winds up retconning it in Flowers
Flowers was a mistake precisely because of the flower of maize bullshit and killing off the old guard.
Clear was bullshit. That’s about it.
