>Translator drops manga for couple of years
>New group picks it back up
>Old translator complains
>manga is finished
>it was translated with google translate
>nobody cares enough to fix it
Can you give examples?
>start reading manga
>random chapters are missing
>those chapters were important to the plot
>reading manga

Otome sensou
>When a major plot point is Engrish
Nagasarete Airantou, dropped for 5months, someone else picks it up
>start reading vagabond
>musashi's journey helps me deal with my depression
>inoue quits due to depression
FUUUUUUUUCK
You now need to write your own journey user.
hey this is right, the journer of inoue maybe has ended as a mangaka but we have our own journey user
thanks anons
How does this make you feel?
>doujin artist says he's planning on selling a digital copy for an out of print doujin
>follow him on Twitter to buy it when available
>he suddenly tweets about being tired of life along with family, life and work complications
Jesus christ, at least it sounds like he's been doing better recently
>manga with many volumes, looks interesting
>only one translator, did just a couple of chapters
>pic related is first page
Oh I just remembered
>TL for a manga says another group was willing to scanlate it
>nine fucking months and no news anywhere about it
Fucking Bunbu Ryoutou
>start reading manga
>"This is nice and cute"
>starts getting lewder
>all of a sudden rape out of nowhere
>series ends
>read all available chapters of manga
>never updates
>years later there's now an update
>mfw i forgot everything about it
Gal Cleaning was truly something.
Its your turn user
Gambate
Dude the guy is a hero
がんばってね
I don't know what manga that is but that man is doing God's work.
>start reading manga
>have to donate 10 bucks on patreon and suck the translator's cock to get clean page
it doesn't really end with rape though, since rape requires actual penetration and they got whacked with a broom before that. what they did falls under sexual assault, I'm pretty sure. even if we forego that distinction, the series doesn't end on that note, there's a couple of chapters after.
From what I remember the ending was a timeskip with the kid who was somewhat his disciple, now grown up and reminiscing about the Kojiro duel. He made illustrations for it for some expo or some shit.
That's a blatant scam.
> Author catches the Japanese Cold and has eventually ends the manga early.
>start reading manga
>translator is so lazy only half released chapters are translated
>who cares I know Japanese
Feels good man. My only complain is that it's often harder to find good quality raws than translated ones on internet.
There's nyaa but the quality of their png is often garbage.
Try yiff.party
>Artist says he's sick
I swear every other mangaka is mysteriously ill every time there's a deadline
>manga is finished translating 10 years after the manga is done
>4 different teams
>translations range from good to google translate
>page scans range from high quality scanner scans to cellphone pics
And people say licensed translations are bad.
>scanlation stopped
>series already finished years ago
>whatever I can read jap anyway
>can't find raws anywhere
Turns out instant noodles and asahi beer doesn't make for a good immune system.
>learn japanese
>don't have to worry about translators anymore ever again
i feel like this even with monthly releases
>Chapter comes out after years
>Immediately dropped again
Or
>Author fucking vanishes with no message or anything left behind
>Nobody has any clue to what happened
>He cannot read Japanese
it is like they are skipping work! how could they do that!
>part of an English translation team
>cant type english
>read manga
>can only find few scanlations
>anytime there is a lot of dialogue on the page it gets so distorted by the quality of the scan that it is unreadable
>read manga
>can tell author put his heart into translating it
>he even translates the text on signs, screens, and papers
>uses HD quality scans only
Very cute translator. 10/10 would read
>start reading COOL AWESOME manga
>this is fucking awes-
>forget a translation, new chapters at all haven't been posted in god only knows how long
>look at super lewd manga(not hentai though)
>just 2 volumes and is complete
>but NO ONE gives enough of a shit to translate it even if it would sate the boners of many
i hate.
>Artist says he's sick but is still drawing random hentai
name 3
Kiba no Tabishounin's artist.
>youtu.be
>really enjoy manga
>read up to last published
>last published was years ago
>mangaka died and never finished it
>group picks up a manga and translates the first chapter/first few chapters then drops it
Better that as an excuse than axed(me and the devil blues) could be continuied but is not(highschool of the dead) or left in permanent hiatus(GTO paradise lost).
That requires the manga you're reading to actually get licensed which in my experience is an issue in itself. There's even been a couple manga I want to read that were licensed but then not fully translated.
>be N4 level
>translate manga for fun and practice
>reached N1 level
>stop scanlating because I can just stick with reading
See ya later, EOP-kun-tachi.
how do i get into translating manga for fun and practice? my japanese is trash and so am i but i'd like to do something like that anyway
>start reading manga
>It's garbage but I can't stop once I started
That's why I usually only read finished manga
>last translated chapter was over 6 years ago
>still on volume 2 out of 10
Any minute now right?
Tae Kim's jap guide is a good place to start
That and just grinding out Kanji
Then start reading raws of some easy manga like Yotsuba& or One Piece or something
i am short of like 600 cards to finish core 6k deck and i've read entire grammar guide like 3 times but i still suck, what do? i want to help translate to make some people happy but i suck too much and wouldnt want to subject people to such horrible exprience
There's worse things than that.
>manga is translated
>3 volumes out of 10 though
>manga was actually localized worldwide but nobody gives enough of a shit to scan and translate it to other languages
Another bad thing
>manga X scans are translated worldwide
>....except for the spanish ones, who are just 5-6 chapters ahead of everyone else
??????????
Just read everything you get your hands on, it'll still probably take years before you start feeling competent but that's really the most you can do besides moving to Japan
>Learn Japanese
>Find a manga I want to read
>The only full scans that exist are in French/Italian
it's really hard to find readable raws though, maybe i will start playing vn's or something instead
>good manga stopped being scanlated
>downloaded raws because i can into moon runes
>wall of text in every single fucking page
>demotivated
>stopped reading
I really want to read this kino-san's kinography
Will probably be a rougher start since most VNs aren't aimed at kids, but whatever works
Actually some all-ages RPGs like Dragon Quest or Pokemon could work too
well as long as the kanji isnt on some weird background i can just use screen capture to translate it so its fine i guess
What the fuck
>reincarnated
>misunderstanding
What are words that make you skip a manga when reading its summary?
kanji.sljfaq.org
This site is good for identifying kanji if Google Translate's image translation is shitting the bed on you
>Manga's scanlations stop
>Find the raws
>Try to read manga in moonrunes
>It's full of kansai-ben
>X-san is just a regular highschool boy/girl
>Any mention of crossdressing

seyana...
thanks, though i dont use google translate but capture2text.sourceforge.net
that will definetely come in handy, jisho doesn't really have a large database i think, thanks a bunch user
>last translated years ago
>keep it on my backlog just in case
>look at my backlog years later
>completely translated
That's kinda cute
So, like most translators except this one is honest.
>author died
>Start reading manga
>It becomes my favorite all time manga
>Last release was in 2012
>Artist is going blind
WHY
>Translator group drops off the map
>No new group takes over
Bobobo...I'll never see how it truly ends...
....ortry OSK where the manga had like 8 different scanlatoes, and the quality and the scans go between shit to good.
The current one is an attention whore and she is translating the useless shitty side stories, once a month or 2 months.
someone anyone please tell what is going on with pic related please. axed? translation hell? just forgotten?
Problem are release schedules. They're brutal. Unless you're the likes of Miura and can apparently release whenever you feel like.
Don't forget Togashi, Satan.
>oh my rubber back
volumes out of 10 though
Do yourself a favor and don't look up how many Guin Saga volumes are available in English. Sure, it's s a novel so we're talking a ton of text, but it's depressing anyway.
>losing his hard drive
I hear this a lot, but how the fuck.
You should keep any files you've touched in the past week or are planning to touch in the following week on your computer, not on an external hard drive.
If it's hentai make a bounty on e-hentai
It's not a hentai, it's just the standard lewd battle manga. It just has a 4person gangrape in the last chapters.
What? Hagure Idol?
I'm less than 2.5k into 6k and I can read non-chuuni manga with no problem.
You just need practice.
And what do you mean by "hard to find readable raws"? Resolution too small? Where are you even looking? You should be able to find almost anything on Nyaa in semi-decent quality.
No.
>champion red
great magz
Just snipe it if you are unsatisfied, no scanlator has exclusive domain unless they contact the publisher and get a license to translate it.
>>Any mention of crossdressing
Not a bad rule of thumb, but...
>On hiatus is until November
>Doesn't release in November
Yeah at least he's trying. I am glad there is some passion and honesty left, most anime fans these days are smug, ironic, and cynical.
That's what happens when you adapt from books
when is REAL gonna end lads?
Which one
by practice do u mean reading? might be the case, ive been slacking off on that. and yes by readable i mean raws with big enough resolution so that when you zoom the kanji doesn't become a mysterious blob of black ink, a problem especially when it's written in bold
thanks for the interesting read user
No matter what I downloaded form nyaa or those shitty "wait 90 seconds to generate download link" sites, the worst I've seen is that furigana sometimes get hard to read.
To stop slacking off on reading, you can always forbid yourself from reading scanlations of the current manga you're following.
This warms my cold heart.
>you can always forbid yourself from reading scanlations of the current manga you're following
i tried that but usually what gets posted on Yea Forums is korean scans and translations are ironically posted faster than the raws. but maybe im just making excuses, ill have to get serious
>Translator basically dropped the manhwa-series
>No translations for quite a bit
>A guy from Tumblr, of all fucking things, starts translating and does a pretty decent job for a while
>Goes hiatus for almost a year, comes back with a new chapter, saying he'd continue translating
>Never updated ever since
>Meanwhile, ANOTHER TL group from Tumblr picked it up
>Translated few chapters and disappears
>Eventually, some big translating group (that does translations for the huge amount of titles) picks it up
>Updates are slow, but it's better than nothing
>They've stopped releasing this series for several months already
>Someone asks them on their discord whether they would continue translating it or not
>Picrelated
>learn Korean for Kpoop
>can read gook raws
>can consume both gook and jap shit
Big brain
>translator's mother is sick and needs medical bills paid
This same person is scanlating Dai Dark I guess since this message was in it too.
Based and mommypilled
The fuck is this from. Don't leave me hangin.
The Vanisher King and his 12 Starlight Maidens
Yomikadou Meijirou is an ordinary highschool boy. After saving a devil, he discovers that he was born with the Seal of Solomon on his tongue, a special power that allows him to control all forms of sorcery and devils. He also discovers that he will die in three years as every use of his power uses up his lifespan.
He is told that the only way to save himself is to establish a contract with the twelve Starlight
Maidens who were born with a special sign somewhere on their body, and to do so, he must lick their sign with his tongue where his sign is located.
>manually inputing kanji into google translate
the fucking MADMAN
>random user translates a chapter that is 15 away from the current scanlators
>Series got axed after that chapter
never happened
How many people ITT are translators looking for a series to scanlate anyways?
Black Lagoon?
Could read the novel
0?
>want to translate stuff to make anons happy
>be too retarded to translate
Being stupid is tough.
How well can you translate shit?
Nip people dumber than you learned the language.
Stop making excuses!
You're just lazy!
I don't know, maybe if I tried really hard I could translate something not too advanced? Depends what you want really, like post a page of raws or something maybe?
I won't deny that, lazy and stupid.
It has furigana. Does this seem complicated to you?
HOHOHO YES BOTAN CULT
Not really hard, I can read that I guess?
If you're up to translating a few chapters, we can set something up. I already have half a dozen chapters ready to typeset in.
Sure, if you wouldn't mind me I could try and you would see if it's acceptable quality I guess. Do you have any contact info?
I sent you a message and a friend request. Made an account just now. Will be going to sleep now. Good night.
I assume it's when travelling. Say when visiting parents and hoping to work from there. But, make backups people.
>want to read manga
>it's pretty much unavailable worldwide
>only scanlator group holds it hostage and may or may not send you scans if you present them with a proof of purchase
Just kill me already
O used your read chinese cultivation light novels and suffered from this. Translators used to churn out like 5 chapters a day for months and then dissapear for months. Even wors all of these stories are the same so easily forgettable which means 50p chapters to try and reread.
the result probably was intelligible garbage, but man, i can fucking feel this faggot's determination
They're all roleplayers, you've taken the bait.
A man who knows neither Japanese nor English has contributed twenty-seven (27) more chapters to the community than you.
What is your excuse?
>Translator drama
>Yomikadou Meijirou is an ordinary
dropped
Iris Zero can go fuck itself.
